Chapter 210

Chapter 210

Mia looked Haven up and down, forced a smile, and sized Haven up shrewdly, "My child is old enough for kindergarten. I don't know which one to choose, so I'm just looking around to see which kindergarten is suitable."

"Are you a teacher here?"

Seeing a potential customer, Haven's face lit up with smiles, very enthusiastic, "Come to our kindergarten! Look at our environment here—absolutely the best in Emerald City! Plus our meals and the quality of our teachers are all top-notch!"

"I might as well tell you, the kids who attend here are basically children of wealthy families in Emerald City."

Mia smiled slightly, a calculating look flashing in her eyes, "I just saw a gentleman leaving. Was he also here to choose a kindergarten for his child?"

Haven raised her eyebrows and said proudly, "That was the chairman of the Moore Group. His child attends here! If Mr. Moore chose our kindergarten, what's there for you to think about!"

Mia was shocked inside, "Mr. Moore's child is at this kindergarten?"

Mia had never met Atticus and didn't know that Atticus was Matthew's child! She also didn't know that Matthew and Elise already had a child together!

Atticus was definitely a stumbling block for her!

Just then, Haven pointed toward the classroom hallway, "Isn't that Mr. Moore's child right there?"

Mia quickly turned to look and saw a female teacher leading several children to the bathroom.

One of the children looked just like Matthew—like they were cut from the same mold!

Mia knew at a glance that this was Matthew's child!

Resentment and jealousy immediately filled Mia's heart, her eyes showing vicious bloodshot veins.

No wonder Matthew was so happy—he came to see his own son!

Thinking of the bright smile on Matthew's face, Mia felt like an outsider, her teeth grinding with hatred.

"Miss, would you like me to show you around other parts of the kindergarten?" Haven noticed the big change in Mia's expression and was very confused.

Mia snapped back to reality and said coldly, "No need, I've already made up my mind!"

Haven quickly asked, "You've decided to come to our kindergarten, right? If you register now, we can give you a discount!"

"Fine!"

After saying this, Mia turned around expressionlessly.

"Miss?" Haven caught up with her, "When will you bring your child over?"

Mia didn't respond and left the kindergarten directly, getting into her car.

Haven watched her car leave and muttered unhappily, "What a weird person! She was smiling just now, then suddenly changed her face. Talk about split personality!"

At five o'clock in the afternoon, Elise drove over on time to pick up Atticus. Seeing his backpack looked heavy, she took it from him.

The two got in the car, and Elise weighed the backpack, "Atticus, did the kindergarten give out a lot of books? This is so heavy!"

"Yes." Atticus didn't dare look at Elise, just lowered his head and responded softly.

Elise felt something was off, so she opened the backpack and found lots of candy, cookies, and chocolate in the compartment.

"Why is there so much candy and chocolate?" Elise frowned.

Atticus twisted his fingers together, his eyelids lowered, "The teacher gave them to me!"

Elise smiled, "You behaved well, so the teacher rewarded you, right?"

Atticus nodded, "Yes!"

Elise suddenly frowned again and picked up the candy and chocolate to look at them.

These candies and chocolates were very expensive—you couldn't even buy them domestically!

No matter how good this kindergarten was, they wouldn't reward children with such expensive things!

Elise immediately stared at Atticus seriously. Atticus looked down silently, as if he had done something wrong.

"Mom told you not to lie. Don't you remember?"

Atticus said, "I remember!"

Elise said, "If you remember, why are you still lying!"

"I'm not lying!" Atticus's eyes were already welling up with tears, looking very wronged.

Although Elise felt sorry for her child, she still sternly took out the candy and chocolate from the backpack, "Did the teacher really reward you with these?"

Atticus fell silent.

Elise raised her voice, "Tell me quickly, who gave these to you?"

This was the first time Elise had gotten angry at Atticus. Two streams of tears rolled down Atticus's face, "I'm not lying! The teacher rewarded me!"

Elise felt this wasn't simple. Her heart softened, and she picked up Atticus and wiped the tears from his eyes, "Mom's tone was a bit harsh just now. Mom apologizes! Which teacher rewarded you? Tell mom."

Atticus said with a sob, "Lots and lots of teachers rewarded me."

Elise's frown deepened. Was the kindergarten really this generous?

Atticus continued, "And the cafeteria workers who serve food."

Elise was confused and didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Even a cafeteria worker gave Atticus such high-end rewards?

"Get out of the car. Mom will take you to get to the bottom of this!"

Elise led Atticus out of the car, back to the kindergarten, and to the principal's office.

"Atticus, why haven't you gone home yet?" Haven immediately stood up and greeted them warmly, "Ms. Sinclair, hello!"

Haven had roughly figured out the relationship between Matthew and Elise. Atticus was their child, and later they divorced, and Elise remarried into the Lawson family!

But Elise didn't give Haven a friendly look. She grabbed a handful of candy and chocolate from the backpack and put them on the desk, "Principal, does your kindergarten usually give such expensive candy and chocolate to the children?"

"This... we..." Haven pondered how to answer without offending either Elise or Matthew.

"Even the cafeteria workers serving food gave Atticus candy and chocolate!" Elise said, "What's going on here?"

Haven stammered, "Ms. Sinclair, these candies and chocolates are so expensive—you should be happy!"

"Happy about what!" Elise was furious, feeling like there was a trap for Atticus to fall into, "If you don't tell me the truth, I'll transfer him to another school tomorrow!"

"Don't!" Haven got nervous and hesitated for a long time, "At this point, I can only tell you! This was all arranged by Mr. Moore! Mr. Moore put a lot of thought into this—it's all for the child's good!"

"It's him?" Elise suddenly understood. She should have thought of him earlier.

Haven grabbed Elise's hand and pleaded, "Ms. Sinclair, please don't transfer schools, or all the things Mr. Moore did before will be for nothing!"

Elise asked curiously, "What did he do?"

Haven said, "To get close to Atticus, Mr. Moore spent a fortune to buy this kindergarten and often comes here himself to work in the cafeteria, serving food to the children!"

"He requires our cafeteria meals to be prepared according to five-star hotel standards, and he hired very professional coaches for the kindergarten. Everything he does is for Atticus."

It wasn't that Elise wouldn't let Matthew get close to Atticus, but Matthew doing all this behind her back made her very uncomfortable.

"Atticus isn't his child. He doesn't need to do all this!"

"I'll transfer Atticus tomorrow."

"You dare!" Matthew's voice suddenly came into the office.

Elise's heart jumped, and she instinctively looked toward the door. She saw Matthew, cold as ice with a stern gaze, walking in with Chris and bodyguards.

Elise quickly looked away, "Atticus is my child. I have the right to transfer him to another school!"

Matthew shot back, "He's also my child. I have the right to let him attend the best kindergarten!"

Elise said, "Atticus's father isn't you—it's Zander!"

Matthew snorted coldly, "At most, Zander is a stepfather!"
