Chapter 108: Thank You
Chapter 108: Thank You
“Dear Goddess Zoltan, how drunk are you?” Safyer asked her mate.
“Not mussshhhhh,” he slurred.
“Zack, can you just dump him on the bed, please?” she asked.
“Sure, your Grace,” he chuckled, as he half dragged and half carried his King to his room.
“How are the other idiots doing?” she asked.
Zack just laughed. “Oh, please don’t do that.” Zoltan said.
“Sorry your Majesty. Here lie down, you’ll feel better in the morning.” Zack said.
“You got any more of that wolf-shine? Just ask Austin or Rollins.” Zoltan said, as he fell back on the bed.
“You will not be drinking any more of that stuff.” Safyer said. “I’ll be having a few words with my idiot brothers.” She laughed. “Thank you, Zack. Can you please make sure that all the other males got or get home safely. And see if their mates need anything.”
Zack nodded, “you got it, your Grace.” He said and took off.
“You better pray that your pup or that none of the other pups decide to make their appearance tonight.” She told him as she removed his shoes.
“Your Majesty,” Paula, one of her personal guards called.
“Yes, Paula c’mon in.” she called. As Paula walked in, she was trying not to laugh. “Go ahead, he won’t remember a thing.”
“You haven’t changed on bit.” Paula continued to snicker.
“The day I change for a man is the day you will probably be able to knock my ass out.” Safyer snorted.
“You got it Queenie.” Paula snickered again. “Do you need anything else tonight.”
“Nah, if I need anything, I’ll let Ryan know, he’s the one on duty tonight, right?”
“Yep, he sure is.”
“Great, I’ll see you guys tomorrow.” Safyer smiled as she walked Paula out. “Nite Paula. Ryan, is all good? Did everyone get home safely?” she asked.
“Yes, your Grace.” Ryan bowed.
“Good, I’ll see you in the morning.” She said and closed the door but before she got a few steps away there was a knock on the door. She frowned but opened the door, “Ryan? Is there a problem?” she asked as she opened the door.
“My apologies, your Grace but your brother would like to speak with you. Aden would like to speak with you.” He corrected himself.
“Oh, okay,” she said. Ryan motioned for Aden to come closer. “Aden, is mom okay? Does she need anything?”
“No, no, she fine. I just wanted to talk to you.” He said fidgeting with his fingers.
“Oh, well, it’s late,” she started, “can it wait until the morning?”
“Sure, but I just wanted to say thank you.” He said, “I know you didn’t hafta stay my death warrant.”
“I did it for mom. I know she wants to spend time with all of us. She can’t do that if you’re with the Moon.”
He snorted, “true, but I promise I won’t betray the second chance you’ve given me.” He said. “I know I can never make up for what I did but if you’ll allow me, I’d be honored to be on your protection detail. I will prove myself to be a better male and a better brother.” He said on one knee with his fist over his heart.
“I’d have to speak with Zoltan about this. It’s not something I can just agree to. Well, I can but...”
“He’s your mate and he still wants to rip my head off.” He snorted.
“Yeah,” she snickered.
“I get it, no problem.” Aden said, “I’ll see you in the morning.” He smiled.
“Yeah. Oh! You might wanna check on your idiot twin,” she giggled, as he raised a brow at her. “One, well maybe two words,” she scrunched her face in thought, “wolf-shine.”
“Ah... I guess all the males tonight?” He chuckled.
“Yup.” She said popping the P.
“Okay, I’ll grab a couple of pots and pans and wake him up in the morning.” He laughed.
“You better give Iza a head’s up before you do that. You don’t wanta stay on her shit and that will definitely put you at the top... for life.”
“Noted, good night your Grace.” Aden bowed and walked out.
“Everything okay, my Queen?” Ryan asked.
“Yes, Ryan,” she assured him. “When we are not conducting business with others, in here you can just call me Safyer, we are family, remember?” she smiled at him.
“You got it, Saf. Good night. Let me know if you need anything, I’ll be right outside.” He bowed and turned to walk out.
“Nite,” she said, closing the door and then walked to her room. She watched her mate as he snored away and a line of drool slowly made its way down his chin. She pulled her phone out and snapped a couple of pictures. “I hope you never see your dad like this again.” She said, rubbing her belly. “If you do, just remember your daddy along with your uncles are big idiots.” She snickered to herself and then felt a gentle kick. She smiled, “now, let’s try and get some sleep my little angel.”
Her internal alarm went off at five am. No matter how hard she tried, her body was set to get her up at five am. She looked over at her, still sleeping mate. He was on his stomach with his head under his pillow. “Wakey, wakey,” she whispered.
“Go away,” he grumbled.
“Zoltan, you’re telling me, your most loving mate, to go away?” she pouted. “I thought you loved me.”
“Awe, Sweetcheeks, of course, I love you.” He said from under his pillow.
“Zol, you’re supposed to lead training today.” She reminded him.
“I can’t, you do it.” He said, from under the pillow.
“Huh, that might be kinda hard to do.”
“Why?” He huffed.
“Oh, I don’t know, maybe because your pup is going to make it hard to maneuver around.”
“MMM...” he said.
“I’m going to get ready for the day, if you’re not up and going by the time I’m done, you’ll be sorry.” She warned.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah.” He mumbled.
“I’m giving you at least twenty minutes.” She said walking into the bathroom.
“Iza,” she mind-linked her cousin and Beta.
“Yeah.”
“Has Aden been there, yet?”
Iza started laughing through their link, “yeah, he’s in with Tarby at the moment.”
“Good, I need help with my mate.” She snickered.
“I’ll let them both know when they’re done in a few.” Iza said.
“Thanks, I’m getting dressed but you can come on in and get started with him.” She told Iza.
“You got it, Queenie baby.” Iza laughed through their link.
