The truth

YRENE'S POV.

Eileen? A silver wolf? Did that mean she could also be… wait. What was I saying?

Silver wolves were brutal, ruthless, and cruel. Just because Theo and I were good silver wolves, didn't guarantee she was also good.

Not only that, but she showed signs of being what a bad silver wolf would be. She was crafty, cruel, and didn't feel remorse for all she did to me. Instead, she enjoyed it.

"You have to be careful with her. There's no guarantee she'll be as good as we are." Theo added, and I nodded slowly.

At that moment, I could believe completely that Eileen had something to do with the Alpha's death.

Theo made to leave, but I stopped him.

"I think we should look into the Alpha's death." I told him, holding on to his arm, and he looked thoughtful.

"An autopsy would have been fastest, but he's already beneath the ground."

"I know. I made my own research, and investigated the maids in the palace. They said he showed no signs of having a bad heart. He was healthy, and not too old." I explained, and Theo nodded slowly.

"Let's look into it, then. You have a feeling she might have something to do with the Alpha's death?" He asked, and I nodded.

"The triplets were meant to mate with her, but they chose me instead, and the Alpha died shortly after he gave us his permission."

"Something does look sneaky about the whole thing. We'll look into it."

Later that evening, Theo and I were going around, looking for the maids, who personally tended to the late Alpha.

Luckily, when we found one of them, she was dusting a jar containing ingredients for herbal tea.

When the triplets and I had gotten approval from the late Alpha, we had been served herbal tea, and as I stared at it, something came to mind.

"Is this the herbal tea the Alpha served us the last time we were here?" I asked, and she shook her head.

Then she brought out bags of tea.

"He drank from this previously, so we served you with this." She replied, and I furrowed my brows.

"Then what's the ingredients for herbal tea in that jar for?" I asked because it seemed weird for something the Alpha didn't use to be in his personal store room.

"Oh, we were told to switch to this, as it was healthier." She replied, and Theo and I shared suspicious looks.

"By who?" We asked.

"Miss Peters." She replied. That was Eileen.

"We'll take this. It'll be returned soon." Theo said, taking the jar from her.

When we left, he called his men, and they took the jar to check it out.

A few hours later, they returned, and confirmed it was poisoned. It was a poison, which worked slowly, damaging the heart with every use.

We finally knew it was Eileen, who poisoned the Alpha, but couldn't tell the triplets.

Instead, I explained to Theo how they felt I only wanted to make her out as the enemy, and how much they doted on her, so we decided we were going to have to work on another plan.

However, the next day, Eileen reported her father missing, and cried all day.

I didn't know why, but her tears seemed suspicious to me. However, my suspicions were only confirmed when Theo's men found ashes in the forest, tested it, and confirmed it to be the remains of Eileen's father.

They also found something quite interesting.

It was Doctor Finnigan dead. He had been killed with silver, and not far from him had been traveling bags.

Of course, we all knew Eileen was behind it all, but we had no proof, and it was not until two days later, that I had a nice idea.

And Theo and I worked on it.

REECE'S POV.

We all waited at the forest. Ethan, Kaden, Theo, and I.

"I've been waiting for ages." I complained, leaning against the large tree we were hiding behind.

"Just a little bit more, please." Theo pleaded. He, and Yrene had come to meet us the previous day, saying there was something important they had to show us.

They had also added that we had to see it in hiding, and were not meant to make our presence known.

But, we had been waiting for hours, yet no one had come along.

"A little bit more. Let's exercise patience." Ethan interceded, and Kaden sighed.

"Can't you just tell us what this is about?" He asked.

"Shh. Wait." Theo replied in a whisper, looking out from behind the tree.

He then gave a signal for us to join him in peeping.

There was Eileen walking with Yrene to the center of the forest.

"What is it you have to say that cannot be said in the house?" Eileen asked, folding her arms.

"Stop. It's time to stop tricking the triplets. Leave us and be far from them." Yrene attacked, and I sighed. Why was she bent on attacking Eileen?

"Wait. This is what you called me out for? You brought me to the forest just to say this?" Eileen asked, and ran her hands through her hair, looking frustrated. "What's your damn problem with me!?"

"What's that in your pocket?" Yrene pointed, and Eileen looked at her pocket.

"Of course, it's a knife. You're a silver wolf, and I don't trust you."

"But you're one too." Yrene countered, and Eileen's face turned to one of shock.

I waited for her to deny it, but she didn't. She only scoffed.

"Since when have you known?" She asked, and Ethan, Kaden and I, locked eyes.

Eileen was a silver wolf?

"Not too long. Stop deceiving the triplets, and I won't expose all you've done." Yrene said, and Eileen laughed out loud.

"You're a good silver wolf. That means I can be one too. I'm a silver wolf, but I haven't done anything wrong. Not all silver wolves are bad. You're an example of that, and Alpha Theo is too." Eileen shot back at her.

"There's no need to pretend. It's just us both here. I'm seriously going to expose all you've done to the triplets if you don't stop." Yrene snapped, and Eileen furrowed her brows.

"There's something I don't understand, Yrene. Why are you this dumb? We've come this far, yet you expect the triplets to believe your words over mine? What exactly are you accusing me of?" Eileen asked, shrugging with her hands.

"Killing the Alpha with poison. Killing Doctor Finnigan with silver after reporting me being a silver wolf to the council. Killing and burning your own father, Eileen, and bringing the rogues in. All this while, you've been pretending to be on the side of the triplets when in fact, you're their greatest enemy." Yrene spat at her, and Eileen took out her knife, casually.

"You're going to tell the triplets all that?" She asked, slowly.

"Yes." Yrene replied confidently, and I could not believe the nasty look on Eileen's face. She was supposed to look shocked, and tell Yrene she was being stupid. How could Eileen kill our father, and hers? That was impossible.

"You really think the triplets will believe your word over mine? Alright, Yes. I did all that. I killed the Alpha and my father with my hands. I killed Doctor Finnigan, reported you to the council, and brought the rogues in. I will do anything to mate with the triplets. So, go. Go ahead. Tell them. Of course, you can. Only if you survive the next moment." Eileen said, with a murderous tone in her voice, and lunged at Yrene, with her knife raised high.

Immediately, Alpha Theo was there, pushing Eileen back, and knocking her into a tree.

Then I stepped out, along with Ethan and Kaden.

Eileen wiped blood running down her head, swearing, and was about to get up, but saw us, and her look turned to one of utter shock.

"I… I didn't do that. I swear! I…"

"Damn you." Kaden said, in disbelief.

Ethan began to take deep breaths, but trying to calm himself didn't work, so he charged for Eileen, and held her up by the neck.

She writhed, and shook, trying to pry his hands off her neck, but Ethan didn't stop.

"You killed my father? Who are you!? Who are you to do that!?" He thundered, and slammed Eileen hard into the tree.

"Ethan!" Alpha Theo called, sharply. "I understand your pain, but you can't kill her." He cautioned, and Ethan who was about to slam Eileen, who had passed out, stopped.

YRENE'S POV.

We took the injured Eileen straight to the council, along with a recording Theo had made, and Eileen wasn't even given a trial. There was nothing to deliberate on. She was given the death sentence by execution.

"Now you can be at ease." Theo was saying to me, as we both went to get some water for us all, but stopped, making me turn to him, wondering why he suddenly stopped talking.

He was staring off into the distance, and when I traced his gaze, I found that he and a young woman were staring at each other.

She was with an elderly man, who was talking with some other people, and shortly, a car stopped by, and she got in.

"That's my mate." Theo said slowly, still staring at the car.

"See! I was right. My fortune telling was right. You've got to chase after her. Who knows when next you'll meet?"I pointed out, pushing Theo outside to get to his car.

"I should chase after her?" He asked, still looking stunned.

"Yes!" I replied, opening his car door.

"Alright. I will." He replied, going into his car, and I waved him off.

After that, I went to prepare for a meeting the council had decided to have thirty minutes after we had reported Eileen to them, abandoning the water I was supposed to get.

I got there just in time, and they had decided to render an official apology to me, after everything that happened.

But instead, they added that they would be keeping an eye on me, and my children, so we don't step out of line.

~

Months later, I was heavily pregnant, and was told I'd be delivered of my baby anytime soon.

The triplets had been so nice after apologizing for not believing me over Eileen, and ran to fulfil my every need.

Reece massaged my feet, while Kaden fed me all the delicacies I wanted, and Ethan was in charge of walking me to wherever I needed to get to.

Everyday was filled with laughter, and our mating ceremony date was announced.

It was going to be a quiet and intimate ceremony, with not much people gathered, and we agreed to do it in the forest, under the full moon.

What added to my joy was the news I was given from the hospital. They had informed me of the date my mother would be released from the hospital.

She would still have to take her pills, but at least, she would be out of the hospital.

Our mating ceremony came by, and ended just as fast. Under the light of the moon, we marked each other, mated, and our minds became one.

It was a thrilling experience, and right after, I went into labor.

The triplets were outside waiting, and praying, hoping I had an easy delivery.

The nurses all told me to calm down, and that I did, pushing only when I was ready. They told me my baby would be out in no time, but it took me three hours before I heard the cry.

"It's a girl!" The nurse squealed, and I fell back on the bed, exhausted.

My baby was beautiful, and as she cried, my own tears spilled down my eyes. That moment was beautiful.

I fell asleep there, and when I woke up, the triplets were next to me with the baby in their hands, trying to play with it, but she kept on crying.

It made me laugh.

"You don't know how to handle a baby. Bring her to me." I offered, but Reece shook his head.

"We're going to tame her from a young age. The Alphas' daughter must not cry." He said, and I almost burst into laughter.

"She's only a baby! All she knows how to do is cry." I blurted out, but it became a fight to hold my baby.

The triplets kept on passing her to themselves, taking advantage of me being on the bed, until I gave up.

Then my baby smiled, looking at them as they passed her around.

"She likes it. She likes it." Kaden squealed, and they continued to pass her around, laughing to themselves, innocently.

Watching them was bliss. I could see my happy ever after with them.

They smiled innocently, and beautifully, despite all they had gone through. Despite all they lost.

And I was going to do the same too. I was going to smile beautifully, despite all I lost.

Because all that was before us in our future was sunlight, beautiful landscapes, rolling oceans, and peaceful minds.
