Chapter 274 The End

Chapter 274 The End

Elara’s POV

By the time evening settled over the palace, the entire estate had changed.
Soft golden light spilled from every archway and column. The lanterns suspended along the pathways casting a warm glow that made everything feel almost dreamlike.
The tension of the past few days hadn’t disappeared entirely, but it had been tucked beneath something lighter, something earned.
Laughter carried through the halls, music threaded softly through the air, and for the first time in a while, people allowed themselves to breathe.
The banquet hall filled quickly.
Warriors, leaders, families, everyone gathered to witness the close of the tournament. Conversations overlapped, glasses clinked, and the low hum of voices built into something steady and alive. It wasn’t just a celebration of victory. It was relief. Pride. A reminder that despite everything pressing in around us, we still stood strong.
I stood near the front with Cassian and Atlas, watching the room settle into place as the final moments approached.
“I still think I should be the winner,” Ryder said from somewhere just behind us, his voice laced with that familiar smirk I didn’t even need to turn around to see.
I rolled my eyes before I even faced him. “Really?” I said, letting a quiet laugh slip through. “You’re already the prince. What else do you need?”
“Recognition,” he replied smoothly.
“You tied,” Cassian added without looking back. “That’s not the same thing.”
Ryder scoffed lightly. “Details.”
“Important ones,” Atlas muttered.
I shook my head, smiling faintly as we stepped forward toward the stage. The room gradually quieted, attention was on us as we took our places at the front.
This was it.
The close.
I moved to the microphone, letting my eyes sweep across the crowd for just a moment before I spoke. “Good evening,” I began, my voice carrying clearly through the hall. “Ladies and gentlemen… this year’s tournament is now officially complete.”
The room stilled, anticipation settling in.
“We’ve witnessed incredible performances,” I continued, allowing the weight of that to sit for a breath. “Strength, resilience, and determination that reflect exactly what this crown stands for.”
I paused briefly, then let a small smile touch my lips. “And yes… we do have a winner.”
The difference in the room was immediate.
I didn’t rush it.
“Blade of the White Claw Pack.”
Applause broke out instantly as Blade stood from his place among the others. He carried himself with composure as he made his way toward the stage. You can tell he was very proud of himself.
He reached the steps, then bowed before us with respect that felt real.
I bowed my head in return. “Well earned,” I said.
He stepped forward, and I handed him the check, watching as he took it with a firm grip.
“Congratulations, Blade,” I said. “You completed both runs and secured the fastest overall time. This victory is yours.”
“Thank you, my queen,” he replied, his voice steady despite the attention focused on him.
Atlas stepped forward. “Blade,” he said, his voice firm and direct. “I would like to offer you a position as a royal warrior.”
The room quieted again.
“To stand with the crown,” he continued. “To fight for the crown.”
All eyes fixed on Blade.
“Do you accept?”
The answer didn’t take even a second.
“I accept,” Blade said without hesitation.
Cheers and applauds moved through the crowd.
We proceeded with the swearing-in, the ritual brief but meaningful. Words spoken, loyalty pledged, a bond formed between warrior and crown that went beyond title alone.
When it was done, we stepped down from the stage, the structure of the evening dissolving into something more relaxed as music rose again and conversations resumed.
The royal garden had been prepared for the rest of the night, and stepping outside felt like entering a different world entirely.
Lanterns hung from trees, their light reflecting softly off leaves that swayed gently in the evening breeze. Long tables were arranged with care, filled with food and drink that people were already gathering around.
The scent of fresh blooms lingered in the air, weaving together with laughter and music into something warm and inviting.
For a while, it was easy to forget everything else.
Cassian lingered near one of the tables, already deep in conversation that looked like it was one step away from turning into an argument.
Atlas stood nearby, half-listening while keeping an eye on everything at once.
Ryder moved through the crowd with that same calm confidence he carried everywhere.
I stepped further into the garden, taking in the sight of everyone gathered together. The packs that didn’t always stand side by side now sharing space without any problems.
“It turned out well,” Trixie said as she joined me, her voice softer now, her earlier pride still lingering beneath it.
“It did,” I agreed.
She glanced toward the crowd, then back at me. “You did good today.”
I huffed quietly. “We all did.”
“Still,” she said, nudging my shoulder lightly, “don’t downplay it.”
I didn’t respond to that. Instead, I let myself take in the moment for what it was. Because moments like this didn’t come often. Peace, even temporary, was something worth noticing.
The music shifted slightly, drawing a few more people toward the open space between the tables. Someone laughed too loudly near the fountain. Glasses clinked again somewhere off to the side.
For a brief stretch of time, everything felt balanced. Earned.
And then a low, deep rumble rolled through the ground beneath our feet.
The earth itself seemed to shift, just enough to be felt, strong enough to silence everything in an instant.

The End.
