Chapter 95 Little by little
Caden's POV
Bud walks into the room, slowly. You can tell he's trying to figure out if he just wants to turn around and hide.
"Bud, your the man I came to see." I say to him as I give him a look over.
He looks rough. Even fresh out of the shower and with clean clothes, the man still looks bad.
Don't get me wrong, my men didn't touch him, that had to be Richard. I'm not sure of how much food they were bringing him and how much he actually ate.
It looks as if the man aged 10 years in just a few days. He has wrinkles and bags under his eyes, they are black and puffy, probably from lack of sleep and stress. Worries about his daughter, mate and son.
"Hey, come in and sit down. Don't worry, your absolutely not in any trouble. Calvin here is going to call and have you more food delivered to you. What would you like?" I ask with a big smile as I'm showing him I'm trying, although I was jump dumped a truckload of manure on my damn head.
"Uh, uh anything will do." He says as he looks at the ground. I cough and clear my throat, making him look at me so I give him the "just tell me look".
"Can I please have some pizza and popcorn. Calvin knows what I like, we're best friends, practically brothers. He said in a low voice as his eyes were scrunched up.
The man is scared, upset, you name it. I get it, his daughter is missing, but I have a surprise for him. He's going to like this one.
"Calvin, I just mind-linked Samantha. Her and Carol are both working tonight. I'm having an extra large meat lovers pizza, some microwave popcorn for you to pop whenever you want it, drinks and more snacks brought up. She will be here in about 20-25 minutes. Oh and a bottle of scotch as well, will that work." I ask with a raised brow and a big grin as I look between the two men.
"Yes, thank you My King. I do appreciate everything you are doing for me. I really do. Your majesty, I'm sorry if I don't seem grateful, I'm not myself. See my daughter..." he starts to say as I raise my hand up for his attention. It works, he stops talking. His nose scrunched up but his eyes are big.
"Bud, I'm not here to talk about what you overheard. Fuck, I'm pretty fucking sure I got all the information I fucking need for the night." I begin to say as I point to the Mt. Everest of folders I have stacked overly high on the counter. I shake my head and roll my eyes in disgust of my fathers actions.
"Believe me. I didn't know my father was a sick mother fucker. I will fix his damn mistakes. I'm going to make them right." I continue to say as I stick up one finger.
"First things first. While I was in my fathers office, after I was mind-fucked with Mount St Helen over there." I say pointing back at the heaps of folders that I placed over on the counter. " I was replaying what Calvin told me. Your daughter, she's two, your son 4, Dianna and David, correct." I say with a smirk and a wink in his direction.
"Yes Sir, that's correct. My daughter is.." he began to say as once again I held up one finger.
"I know this might surprise you to hear" as I open my mouth in awe and hold up both hands in surprise. "But Coban and I do have warriors placed in every pack. Drum roll please." I say as I drum on my knees with my hands and smile. Damn that worked. Bud actually smiled.
"Anyway, I also sent in 50 lycan warriors. Yes, before you ask, it does matter." I say as I smirk "I also got in touch with Darnell and the guys I have there. Evidently Alpha Blake sent in men, his goal since Melvin is in the dungeons here, is to take over. He is going to try to overthrow Elder Roy so I sent in backup." I smirk and continue" They will shift and get there within the hour. Calvin, you will take the reins tomorrow as the Alpha. They will hold you ascension tomorrow. I sent in Elder Maggie and a few of the other Elders, they will arrive there tomorrow around 1-2pm."
I held up two fingers and smiled from ear to ear.
"Oh Bud, my men did find your girl. I had them take your mate and children to Margaret at Calvin's place with my men guarding them all until my warriors show up and then more will be guarding them as well." I drum my legs and hit the air as if I'm hitting a cymbal.
I put my arms out to the side "Tadaaaa" and I bow.
"Your joking. You didn't. No way. I. I. "
Bud is a stuttering mess. He's full blown crying, sniffling, and Snot dripping.
Poor guy can't even say a coherent word let alone an audible sentence.
"Thank you Caden. I don't. Just, thank you. I, we really appreciate everything you are doing for us." Calvin says with tears in his eyes and continues "Do you think that the Elders can witness my beta ascension as well." He says as he turns to Bud.
"Bud, your my brother, man. I don't trust anyone more than I trust you. Will you please do me the honors and accept the Beta position, making your son the beta heir." Calvin asks Bud.
Bud breaks down in more tears. Damn this grown ass man is like Niagara Falls. Not saying it's a bad thing. He's happy, finally after 7 years. About time good finally came around to him.
"Well Bud, he got to you first. I was also going to offer you a position, but his offer is much better. I was thinking personal Royal Guard." I say as I laugh.
"You guys. Damn I love you both." He cries and laughs at the same time.
"Love you too man." Calvin says "Is that a yes Beta Bud" he asked with a raised brow as Bud nods his head to him.
"Beta Bud" I say out loud and we all laugh some more.
"Elliott, get Zak into a private room. Keep him in silver cuffs. I'm on my way. I have to talk to him." I say through mind-link as I head back to the dungeon.
