Chapter 77 A possible set up
Darien's POV
We took Lydia to the pit and put her in isolation just as we were told.
Lucian and I are on our way back to the Kings quarters. We have to make sure no one else gets to Trixie.
Something keeps bothering me, the girl Coban said tipped him off.
She didn't want payment and how did she even know she was there.
Lydia had her sent covered. So I know if I couldn't scent her then something is definitely off.
"Brother, did you scent anyone else in there when we got Lydia out?" I asked Lucian.
"Actually, I did but not sure who". he says.
Just as we were coming down the hall to the elevators to go upstairs a lady bumps into my chest.
"Watch Out! Damn You! You ignorant worthless Fuck!!!" she screams.
"Sandi,is that you? What are you doing in this area? This area is only for the King and Queen."I asked her.
She had sunglasses on and a baseball cap. Looks as if she's trying to hide something.
Trying to disguise herself.
"I I I I have to go". she stutters and she runs off.
"That was messed up on all different levels." I say to Lucian as I'm shaking my head. "Brother, that scent" he says "that's the scent from the bathroom. The lady that was going out as we was coming in." He says.
"You know, I think you're right." I said, a matter of factly.
"But if it was her, why would she tip us off? Why would she say anything". I say as I'm trying to think why she tipped off Coban and not Caden. "Because he would've known her voice." I say out loud.
"Well, she's also a lady waiting. Wasn't they let go. Weren't they supposed to be gone and out of the palace. Why is she even here?" He asks.
"Your guess is as good as mine" I Answer "Coban, do you have a minute?" I ask.
"Yeah, go ahead" he says sounding irritated.
Damn, he sounds pitiful. I could only imagine if it was Roxie. I would definitely lose my shit as well.
"The scent in the bathroom, the woman that passed us as we were going in." I say.
"Do you have a point Darien?" he says in annoyance.
"We just passed Sandi. Well she ran into me. We were headed up to your quarters. We were at the elevator. She was in disguise. That was the same scent as the woman in the bathroom, sir." I ramble off my thoughts, hoping they made sense.
"So in Laymans terms, Sandi was the one that tipped us off and was by our elevators, trying to hide her identity. Why is she even still in my damn palace?" he screams through the link.
"I'm not sure, my king". I say wishing I didn't even bother him.
"Sorry, you and Lucian get up here now. We need you up here protecting my queen." he says and sniffles.
Oh shit, is the king actually crying. Did something happened to Trixie? Did she get worse?
Coban's POV
Caden and I are sitting here with our girl. She hasn't as much as moved. I keep talking to her just in case she can hear me. I just don't want her to be lonely.
"Hey love," I say as I'm rubbing the back of her hand. "When you wake up Caden and I will give you your presents we got you. I hope you like them." I say with a sniffle. I lean over and kiss her forehead. "I'll make them pay for this love. I'll make them pay for hurting you. I promise." I whisper in her ear.
As I am sitting here talking to my beautiful girl Darian linked me. What he told me was so messed up.
"So you're telling me, Darian said that Sandi bumped into him at the elevators and was the woman leaving the restroom earlier." Caden said.
"Yep, it's messed up right".
"No, it makes sense. I bet Sandi had Lydia in there just to rat her out, taking her out of the equation, eliminating competition." Caden explains.
"But this beautiful lady here is our queen." I say as I look down at Trixie. "Aren't you angel?"
I say to her as I move her hair out of her face.
"Evidently, there's some ignorant people that didn't get the memo that we had her coronation earlier." He explains further.
"Tomorrow, we need to make an announcement. We need to make sure it's known to all that Trixie was crowned queen." Caden says.
"That's it!" I say as I jump up. I go to her dresser and pick up a bottle I then come back and sit down at her feet. I lift up her foot and put it in my lap.
"What's it brother?" Caden asks.
"Trixie, she needs her toenails painted." I said and nodded my head at her feet and began to paint her toenails.
"Really Coban, I was trying to." Caden started to say as Darien and Lucian came into the room.
They both paused and just stared. Taking in the sight before them. With an understanding look on both their faces.
"Coban, Trixie is gonna love that color!" Darien says.
"I know right. It's her favorite color." I say as I continue to paint her toenails.
