Chapter 178 Baby Chaos

Chapter 178 Baby Chaos

Trixie’s POV

The king’s quarters had never sounded this loud before. Not from battle. Not from warriors. From children.
The playroom Coban had built months ago had turned into absolute chaos. And honestly, it was the best kind.
Colorful padded floors stretched across the entire room. Along the far wall were two bouncy castles, one shaped like a dragon and the other like a giant wolf head. Small jungle gyms filled the center with rope ladders and little climbing walls meant for toddlers. Swings hung from a padded frame near the windows, and several tiny slides curved down into piles of foam blocks.
Toy wagons. Stuffed animals. Ride-on wolves with wheels.
It looked like someone had dropped a toy store into the palace.
And currently every inch of it was being used.
Little Kael was riding a small wooden wolf toy across the padded floor while Elias chased him, both of them laughing like tiny maniacs.
Selene sat nearby with a stuffed fox nearly as big as she was, babbling happily.
Alessia had claimed a pile of blocks and was aggressively stacking them like she was building a fortress.
Orion and Theron were attempting to climb the baby jungle gym while Roxie hovered behind them like a very tired hawk.
“Theron,” Roxie warned. Theron immediately climbed higher. Roxie sighed and shook her head. "Of course you did.”
I sat on the padded floor with Atlas and Cassian, both boys in front of me while I worked on feeding them pieces of soft fruit. Atlas sat quietly like he always did, his big eyes watching everything. Cassian, on the other hand, was already reaching for things he probably shouldn’t.
“Slow down,” I told him. He grinned at me like a tiny criminal.
Across the room Trinity sat beside Brandi, feeding Kael pieces of bread while keeping half an eye on the chaos around us.
“This seemed like such a calm idea earlier,” Brandi said.
Sabrina laughed. “Speak for yourself. I knew this was going to turn into a circus.”
Near the doorway Darien and Lucian sat like giant statues guarding the room. Except both of them had laptops open on a small table in front of them. Camera feeds flickered across the screens.  Clarence’s compound. Every angle. Every window. Every inch of the place was being watched. Lucian leaned closer to the screen.
“Still nothing.”
Darien nodded. “Quiet.”
Then Lucian glanced over at the room full of toddlers bouncing and shrieking. "Unlike this place.” He shook his head and let out a small chuckle.
Right then Elias cannonballed into the dragon bouncy castle. Selene squealed in delight.
Brandi pinched the bridge of her nose. “Yep. Definitely a circus.”
Back on the floor Cassian suddenly stopped reaching for food. His little head tilted. Atlas did the same. I felt it immediately. The air in the room shifted. That familiar hum of energy wrapped around my boys. Cassian lifted one tiny hand.
Across the room Alessia’s tower of blocks suddenly rose straight into the air. Three feet off the ground.
Everyone froze.
Alessia blinked at it. "Mama?”
Tina leaned forward. "Well that’s new.”
The blocks slowly rotated like they were floating in invisible water. Cassian giggled.
Atlas watched quietly, his power steadying the floating tower. Then gently, the blocks lowered back onto the floor. Perfectly stacked. Alessia clapped. Selene clapped. Kael clapped. Basically every child started clapping.
I sighed. “Boys. Could you actually tone it down just for awhile please.”
Atlas blinked innocently. Cassian grinned.
Trinity laughed softly. "They’re showing off.”
Roxie crossed her arms. “Yeah well they better not start lifting my kids.”
Theron chose that exact moment to slide down the tiny slide headfirst. Roxie groaned. “See? I already have enough problems.”
We started handing out lunch plates to the kids.
Small fruit slices. Bread. Juice cups.
Cassian reached for Elias’s cup.
Elias glared. “Mine.”
Cassian lifted it anyway. The cup floated over.
Elias gasped.
Sabrina laughed so hard she nearly dropped Selene’s snack bowl.
“Oh my god.” I gasped as I grabbed the cup from midair and handed it back.
“Cassian.” I said as I pointed my finger at him.
He blinked at me. Completely unrepentant.
Across the room Tina stretched in her chair dramatically. "I swear, watching strong men run around in that arena all day is doing things to me.”
Roxie rolled her eyes immediately. "Here we go.”
Tina smirked. “What? I’m just saying. Muscles. Sweat. Warriors half naked. Damn. You can't tell me that don't turn you on." She said as she wriggled her eyebrows and made her silly face.
“Stop talking,” Roxie said flatly.
Sabrina snorted and spewed her water all over her lap. Brandi tried to hide her laugh but failed miserably.
Tina leaned forward conspiratorially. “You all know exactly what I mean.” She looked between each of us.
Trinity shook her head. “You’re impossible.”
Roxie pointed a cracker at her. “There are children present.”
Tina waved a hand. "They’re toddlers. Relax.”
Darien cleared his throat loudly near the door.
Lucian didn’t even look away from the cameras.
“Still hearing everything.” He said loudly after he cleared his throat as well.
Tina winked at them. “Oh I know. That's why I spoke loud enough for you two to hear as well." She winked at them both.
Lucian muttered under his breath, "Damn, I regret volunteering for guard duty.” He said as he continued to watch his screen.
Meanwhile Cassian had discovered a toy truck.
Atlas sat beside him calmly watching the other kids. Then Cassian lifted the truck. Without touching it. The toy rolled across the floor by itself. Kael chased it immediately. Elias followed. Selene clapped again.
The truck zig-zagged around the room like it had a mind of its own. Cassian squealed. Atlas added a small push of power and the truck sped up. Now three toddlers were chasing it.
Roxie stared at the kids chasing this toy. “Now they’re weaponizing toys.”
I leaned back slightly, watching my sons.
Even as babies. Their power was unmistakable.
And somehow gentle at the same time.
Cassian laughed again as the truck rolled back to him. Atlas leaned against my leg quietly.
Across the room Tina sighed dramatically again.
“I swear if my mate comes home tonight smelling like that arena.”
Roxie threw a pillow at her. "Finish that sentence and I’m gagging you.”
The room erupted with laughter. Children bouncing. Toys flying.
Women teasing each other.
Darien and Lucian quietly watching Clarence’s compound.
For a brief moment everything felt normal.
