Epilogue

Isabelle.

"Jason, have you got the things loaded in the car?" I heard Kaden yell as I stood in front of the garden with my family's ashes in the jar in my hand.

"Yeah, we will wait for you and Isabelle in the car! Come quick!" Jason yelled back and I saw from the far as he walked towards the Car where Cassandra and Carter were already seated in.

A hushed calming wind was prowling around, there was an unexplainable peace in the atmosphere that left the serenity to percolate within me.

It had been a week since everything had ended except for the story of me and Kaden. We were moving to Kaden's kingdom where he would take upon his responsibilities. After the coronation, he'd have to take over his duties as the new ruler.

I had this nervousness within me if the people of the kingdom would accept me or not, but my mere doubts were completely washed away with Kaden's assurances and gentle caresses of his words that had never failed to comfort me.

"Isabelle...." Kaden's voice broke the chain of my thoughts and I looked behind me only to see him walking toward me.

His eyes fell on the jar in my hand and the realization made a sad smile splay on his lips.

He walked over to me and pulled me closer to him by my waist, his other hand went to cup my face.

"What are you doing here, hmm?" He leaned in placing a kiss on my cheek that managed to make a smile tug at my lips.

"Nothing, I was enjoying the breezes," I said leaning closer as well and resting my head against his chest.

"Really?" He asked, sounding not so convinced with my answer as he brushed away a few stray strands of my hair away from my face.

This time I shook my head intending to tell him why I had exactly come here as my eyes glanced at the ashes in the jar.

"I came here to let this go free...." I spoke up, there was a slight trembling in my words but this time there was nothing to hold back.

He fell silent for a moment, ever so lightly rubbing my back before he asked me the question I had known he'd, "Are you sure you want to do this?"

I nodded pulling away to look at him, "Yes, I am sure."

"Okay...do you want me to give you some space?" He asked being as considerate as always.

"No, I want you to stay with me," I said and he nodded after a moment.

I slowly turned around to face the garden again, the winds had gotten significant at this point. As if they were to take something away back into nature that had witnessed everything.

Kaden's hand remained around me as if to hold me if I get weakened again, there was a comforting silence along with the sound of the breezes I could hear.

Taking a deep breath I slowly opened the jar letting the top of it fall on the green leaves.

The ashes inside started to get vanishing in the breezes as I tilted the jar and let them fall. A sad smile displayed on my lips as a lone tear from my eye fell on the back of my hand as I watched the ashes getting washed away in the waves of the breezes.

I had never imagined I could say the last goodbye to my family this way but maybe this chance was written in my fate and overcoming all the odds I had made it.

There was no pain or remorse except for the acceptance and the hope for a better start with the one I loved and with the memories of my loved ones.

This was the end of a journey I had gone through. A journey where I had found the person who loved me more than anyone ever possibly could, where I had avenged my family's murder, throughout this storm, I have succeeded and survived with the companion who has protected me in every step.

Slowly the jar became empty, and the winds began fading. The dwindling sun remained under the clouds as the witness of the new journey I was going to start. I could not wish for anything more at this point, fate has blessed me with as much as it had taken from me.

I finally let the jar drop on the green and turn around to face Kaden, a smile making its way on my face.

"So we can finally have a fresh start, can't we?"

His eyes lit up at my question and a smile broke on his face too. He engulfed me in his arms without delaying a second.

"A new beginning," He nodded kissing the top of my head.

"Can I have a kiss from my notorious Lycan?" I looked up at him and a chuckle slipped past his lips.

"I am not sure if I am willing to give you one right now, Angel." He mischievously trailed off.

"I don't give a damn." I giggled encircling my hands around his neck and standing on my tippy toes to kiss his lips.

"So we are getting bold huh?" He chuckled moving away ever so slightly so that I can't press my lips against his.

"You have a problem with that?" I asked, raising one of my eyebrows and inside still fighting to stop the laugh that wanted to get out.

"No way in hell," He whispered closer to my lips, "I am more than excited to see how bold you can get."

"I can get even bolder than this." I bit back the smile and the next moment pressed my lips against his.

He kissed me back in an instant with the same amount of passion and soon as we began drowning in each other like always Carter's loud voice was heard from far away.

"Hey you two, continue with your romance after we reach the palace!" He yelled getting out of the car and standing beside it, "We are getting late."

A laugh tore from my mouth and the very annoyed look plastered on Kaden's face as he glared in Carter's direction who paid no attention to it.

"Come quick otherwise we are gonna leave without you two!" He yelled like a kid.

"Okay, fine. you prick! We are coming!" Kaden yelled back and this is what seemed to convince Carter and he got back inside the car.

Kaden looked at me and the prior frown on his face vanished.

"I guess we have to continue this after we reach the palace." He murmured leaning in to place a chaste kiss on my lips.

"Shall we get going then?" I smiled tracing my finger on his jaw.

He grinned at me before he picked me up, "Hell yeah."

A giggle left my mouth at his movement and my hands flew to wrap themselves around his neck as he lead me to the car that would take us to our new destination--A end that will lead to a beautiful beginning.
