Aurelia's POV

Aurelia's POV

Earlier in the day

As I walked out of her room with Evelyn, my chest was heavy. I loved my hair so much and the thought of chopping it off hurt me.

I pushed the thoughts aside. I had a mission I wanted to fulfill. It was just hair.

As Evelyn gestured for me to enter her room, I smiled slightly. Looking around, it was exactly how I remembered it. Evelyn was not a girly girl. Her favourite colour was black so her room had an all black theme, with little splotches of red here and there.

I had been there when she wanted to redecorate her room. I had been worried about painting the room all black, but it had turned out more impressive than I had bargained for.

As I sat on the chair, reminiscing over the only good memories I had in the pack, I contemplated telling her who I was.

No doubt she would be by my side and support me. But did I really want to drag her into this? I wondered just how bad it must have been for she and her mate when I ran away.

I shouldn't be selfish and make a mess of her life again when she was just getting it back into place.

I nodded my head firmly. Yes, I won't tell her. But I knew deep down that if I left this pack, she was leaving with me, hand in hand. She did not belong here. These evil monsters did not deserve her pure soul.

" I'm so sorry you have to cut your hair. It is honestly so full and beautiful. Lina is just a sore person in general so pay her no heed. She is so delusional and would have no servant who is prettier than her work anywhere near the alpha or herself. I think she is so insecure about her spot as Luna honestly. And wanna hear some tea? The alpha cheats with her like a lot. Once she found out and beat the poor girl nearly half to death. She had it coming anyways. After Lina decided to settle down like a person, she took over her spot as the pack slut. Got into the alpha's bed a day after their wedding. Lina went ballistic" Evelyn rambled on.

I had missed this, sitting down and just letting her do all the talking.

She was a very fun person to talk to. Mostly because she was social and had all the best tea on everyone in the pack.

I had never really been interested much then, mostly because I hated every one of them equally and the bad things she tells me about them, made me hate them more.

She fiddled with my hair, twirling the scissors around her middle finger.

She muttered some words to herself, raising my chin up and examining my facial structure.

" You know what? I think this might work. If I give it the right amount of flare and just a nice touch of snipping, you should look wayyyy better than you do now. No offense" she said.

I laughed.

" None taken. Do what you have to do. It hurts already that I have to cut my hair, so at least make it perfect" I said.

She nodded happily. Make overs were always her thing.

She enjoyed turning people into better versions of themselves. Another reason why I loved her.

As she cut off the first chunk of hair, I winced. This was real. This was really happening.

" So...." She said, drawling out the word as she continued cutting.

" So?" I asked.

She stopped for a while, her eyes getting slightly uncomfortable.

" I mean...I don't want to pry but....do you really not have any pack? I find it so hard to believe that you were a rogue. My best guess is you were running from something." She said.

She looked uncomfortable asking. And I felt uncomfortable hearing her ask.

It was not a fun story. I could not tell her everything I had to go through in the hands of Derek. I did not even want to think about my time there in that cave.

So I settled for a more subtle answer.

" I don't want to talk about it, really" I said, my voice was lower than I expected.

She sighed.

" I know, I know. It's so stupid of me to even ask. I should not have. I just really genuinely want to know you and it's stupid I know. So just forget about it" she said rambling on and on.

I pulled away from her and the scissors, not trusting her enough again to style my hair in that state of mind.

She laughed, like she could read my thoughts.

" Don't worry angel, I have enough practice on hair to not make a mistake. And besides, it's turning out so beautifully already " she said.

I looked into the mirror, she was right. It was turning into something beautiful. It was strange, like staring at someone who was not me, but it was not uncomfortable.

The room was mostly silent for the rest of the time.

Just her randomly asking me questions about the style and me responding.

We worked in silence for about an hour, and then finally, when I felt myself begin to doze off, she announced she was done.

She jumped on her bed, exhausted as she rubbed her eyes firmly to stay awake.

I yawned, taking a look into the mirror.

It was a very nice hair cut, just above my shoulder. It was unusually short, but I did not hate it, I just needed to get a little used to the new look.

" So, what do you think? It's not giving princess vibe any longer, but at least it's not a total fail" she said, still lying on her back, her voice low.

" I like it, it's nice. I needed a new change of hairstyle anyways. " I said shrugging my shoulders.

She bounced up suddenly.

" Okay! Let's go get you into a dress and present you to her royal majesty." She said.
