When Jonas had calmed down enough to be able to speak he asked Genni if she could do something for him ‘Of course My Love, anything’ smiling at her but with sadness in his eyes he asked if Genni could talk to his mother first. At first, Genni thought it best for Jonas to speak to her but, as Jonas pointed out. Genni would be able to tell if she was telling the truth or not. Plus, they could find out if she is involved, by how much?
Agreeing and asking how he wanted to do it and how soon Jonas said with a kind of desperation in his voice ‘I need to know as soon as you can get together with My Mom. I need to find out how far this rot extends into the pack so I can cut it out’ he finished on a snarl. Making his handsome face contort in his fury. ‘Do you think you could do that? But, I also need Sapphire to relay everything that is being said, to Jax. Jax can then tell me. I will be in Molly’s office it’s her in case you need some kind of back up’.
Looking shocked for a moment Genni frowned at Jonas and said ‘Back up? What do you think your Mother would try to do to me’? Shaking his head solemnly Jonas admitted that he didn’t know. As Genni asking questions might trigger a fight or flight reaction. ‘Okay, I’ll do it now. I will send for her and ask that she meet me in my office. As long as Molly and you are already in the office Your Mom shouldn’t suspect anything. After all she has been acting Gamma from time to time’. Walking over to hug Genni, Jonas sighed deeply into her hair then buried his face in her neck. As he breathed deeply he tickled her mark and laughing Genni had to push him away ‘whoa now, Casanova. Let’s focus on the problem at hand, shall we’ she looked up at her mate with eyebrows raised and this made Jonas laugh ‘Goddess I love you’ he said softly. Smiling, Genni replied ‘well, that’s ok then, cos I love you too ya big lug’ and pulled him in to their final hug before Genni linked with Rosemary. Asking her to meet her in her office at 10am. Rosemary replied straight away to say ok, and she would see her soon.
Kissing Jonas one last time before she left to start on the applications she quickly told Jonas more about what she was doing. He had loved the idea when they had briefly spoke about it so Genni was happy to plow ahead.
Getting to her office for 9am, Genni could see the connecting door between her and Molly’s room was slightly ajar and Genni could hear Molly moving about. Raising her voice slightly Genni wished her a good morning. When Molly walked in to the main office she had a big smile on her face and said ‘Good morning sweetheart’ and she plopped a sloppy kiss on Genni’s hair. Grabbing one of the coffee’s that Genni had brought with her Molly sat down on the opposite desk chair and waited with baited breathe to find out if all they had uncovered were in fact true.
Genni knew that Molly was waiting for an answer so she just went straight to the point ‘everything has been confirmed Moll, I shared the memories of all the witnesses to Jonas early this morning and he is devastated. I didn’t say anything to you or Sara yesterday but a low ranked wolf came to see me yesterday with the information I needed to prove that. FGA Phil is the rat we all worried about’. Looking stunned by this news and a little angry Molly asked what news proved it. So Genni relayed the memory to Molly the same way she had relaid it to Jonas. Pulling out of Genni’s hands and jumping to her feet. Genni could see that Opal, Molly’s wolf was very close to the surface. Asking her to calm herself and that of her wolf, Genni continued what she was saying and explained that Rosemary was coming to the office at 10am. Looking at her watch, Molly could see that was only 20mins away. About a second after that her office door opened and Jonas walked in with Greg in tow. Greeting Molly warmly with a kiss on her cheek, Jonas asked if she was up to speed on everything. To which Molly gave him a derisive look. ‘Yes Alpha, I know what to do’. Greg, who had been watching the exchange walked over to his Mother in law and staged whispered ‘he doesn’t know you like I do, Ma’ and he winked at her which earned him a smack across the back of his head. Kissing her quickly on the cheek Greg dived into her office before she could swat him again. Turning to look at Genni she rolled her eyes and said ‘Goddess help me what with the baby coming and all’ and muttering under her breath she followed Greg. Smiling at them Genni assured Jonas again that she would be fine. Clasping her hand and bringing it to his lips he very softly kissed her knuckles. He looks up at her while he does this and Genni felt a warm glow of love surround her like a blanket. ‘Go, Your Mom will be here any second’ Genni said, shooing him away to join the other two in Molly’s office.
Rosemary was about to leave her house when Phil came back earlier than she expected, smiling at her mate she asked if he had a good morning and told him about her meeting with Genni. ‘Why would she want to see you so early’ Phil asked. Rosemary had an excited look on her face as she told him what she thought ‘as you know, Sara is almost to term and I think Genni wants me to step in as Gamma while Sara has the baby’ Phil nodded his head and seemed to relax slightly. Seeing this Rosemary asked if he was ok, putting a big smile on his face he assured his mate he was fine and told her he would accompany her to the meeting. Looking slightly shocked at this Rosemary said ‘why on earth would you do that? This is a Luna Meeting. You know no men are allowed in her office without direct invitation. And as you were not sent for you cant come. It wouldn’t be right if you just showed up!’ Phil glared at her for a second then said ‘alright, alright. I’ll stay here. But I want to know everything that is talked about, do you understand’? Walking over to Rosemary he grasped her upper arm and repeated himself. Shaking her as he finished. Trembling with fright, Rosemary nodded and rushed out of the door and headed to the packhouse. She had tears in her eyes as she walked the short distance and sorrow filled her heart at her Mates behaviour. She didn’t know what had happened and was too scared to ask him outright but, in the last few months he had changed so much. And it worried her. But, being warned everyday to not talk about private things to anybody, Rosemary had learnt to keep her mouth shut.
Finally getting to the Luna’s office Rosemary knocked and waited to be called in. Surprised to see the door open and Genni standing there with a smile on her face looking beautiful as ever, Rosemary jumped slightly ‘sweetheart, you made me jump then, I was expecting you to call me through, not open the door’ Rosemary laughed lightly and Genni joined in stating she was sorry for scaring her. When the two women were sitting down Genni welcomed her Mother in law and began by going over the proposed scheme for getting omega’s and other lower ranked pack members involved more. Rosemary loved this idea and told Genni she would have loved to have implemented something like that when she became the Grand Luna but admitted it was a different time then. Saying the Luna title had always been about frivolous things and never about important stuff as that was always dealt with by the Grand Alpha and his council. Sensing an opening for her to talk about Phil, Genni started to ask her questions hoping against all hope that Rosemary was not involved.
‘Rosemary, there was a specific reason I asked you here today. It is difficult for me to speak about this and I hope that going forward you understand that I am offering help if it is needed’. Looking taken aback by this brief statement Rosemary shifted awkwardly in her seat ‘I’m sure what ever you have to say is meant well, sweetheart. Just tell me’ Rosemary said. But Genni could detect the change in her breathing and the tone of her voice. There was something wrong and Genni needed to get to the bottom of this quickly. For Jonas’s sake.
