CHAPTER TWENTY

Chapter 20

Alpha Ransfort's POV.

I was still standing with Catherine in my arms when I heard again, "What do you think you are doing?"

I spun around to meet Lina's cold glares on me, her eyes boiling with rage, " Why are you carrying her in your arms like a baby?! Don't tell you that she can't walk again?!" Lina asked as she glared at Catherine irritably.

I was boiling with anger as I didn't like the tone in which Lina was using to talk at me.

I felt Catherine struggling to get down from my arms but I held her firmly not allowing her to get down.

" I Umm.. I think you should put me down, your Highness, I can manage." Catherine said,squeezing her face in pain.

I put her down and asked one of the guards to guide her inside before turning my gaze to Lina and dragged her to my room.

"What is the meaning of this?! What do you think you are doing?! I think we have discussed this or do you want to spoil our plans." I voice out, angrily.

She moved closer and placed her hand on my chest with the other one resting on my shoulder, gazing at me like a little kitten.

"I'm sorry, your Highness. I don't like the way you carried her when you knew the servants were there and they could easily carry her to her room. Carrying her like that in the presence of the servant was not ideal." she explained, gently.

But I was still not satisfied with her explanation as I frowned, releasing her grip on me before pacing towards my bed and sitting on it.

"I'm sorry, love. I didn't mean to make things hard for you, I was just concerned about what the servant would think when they see you carrying her like that."

"The servant?! Did you know how you embarrassed me out there in the presence of the same fucking servant?! You know I gave no fucking shit about them as I can easily rip their head off if they misbehave." I yelled out, making her jump in fear.

"I.. I'm sorry for my misdeed." she stuttered.

She sat beside me on the bed, wrapped her hand around my waist, and placed her head on my shoulder, "I'm sorry, love." she pleaded, sadly.

My heart ached when I heard her plead in a sad tone and it made me feel sorry for her. Yeah, that is the effect she had on me. I couldn't bear to see her sad.

I turned my gaze at her, "It's alright. I just don't want you to mess things up for us. Just focus on the plan, okay." I said to her and she nodded her head in agreement.

I place a gentle kiss on her lips, "I love you." I altered and she replied the same. She left the palace after getting a call from a friend of hers.

I decided to check up on Catherine after freshening up.

I knocked gently on her door with no response so I swung the door open and stepped into her room.

I saw her lying on her bed, sleeping and I gazed at her sleeping face for a while. As I was about to leave the room, I noticed she was feeling cold.

I paced closer and was covering her with the duvet when she woke up.

"You Highness, you are here?" she asked softly, trying to sit up.

I sat beside her on the bed and asked, "How are you feeling? Hope your ankle doesn't hurt that much?"

She nodded and winced in pain as she held her head. I place my hand on her head to check her temperature, "You are burning. I need to call the doctor." I said as I brought out my phone and called the doctor, asking him to come to my palace immediately.

She was still in pain as she complained that her head was still hurting.

"I need to do something before the doctor arrives," I murmured to myself and asked the maid to give her a sponge bath before the doctor arrived.

The doctor arrived a few minutes later and ran a check on her, "She will be fine. I'll give you an ointment to rub on her ankle and also, she needs some rest because of her pregnancy." The doctor informed me as he wrote some medication for her.

"Alright, doctor. Thanks."

I escorted the doctor out of the building and he told me not to allow her to engage in any difficult activities for the meantime.

I was still with the doctor when I saw Lina's car entering the palace, "Did something happen, why is she here again? " I muttered under my breath.

She paced to where I was standing with the doctor asking, "Why is the doctor here? Are you alright.?"

"I'm fine. He's here to treat Catherine who was running temperature." I informed her.

The doctor left after promising to come back and check on her.

"Was it because of her ankle? Was it because of the way I spoke earlier?" she asked, worriedly.

"None of that. it was just the pregnancy though, he gave an ointment to rub on her ankle. So, why are you here? "

"I forgot my credit cards here and I need to go shopping." she giggled and winked at me playfully "But I will go and see Catherine first before I leave," she revealed before leaving. Catherine's POV

I woke up and met Alpha Ransfort staring at me, "Why is he here?" I thought as I blinked the haze of sleep from my eyes.

I was trying to sit up when I felt a sharp pain, "Ouch!" I winced in pain, holding my head that was hurting. My whole body was burning like fire as Alpha Ransfort ordered the maid to give me a sponge bath which relieved me a little bit before the doctor arrived.

I was happy when the doctor told me that my baby was fine.

A maid was rubbing the ointment that was given to me by the doctor when I felt a dark shadow engulfing me.
