Chapter 23 PROMISES AND BETRAYAL
Celestia's POV
"That's what he told me, if I'm being honest Crane I'm thinking about his offer we don't have much more time to waste," I told my right-hand man, his brow furrowed several times.
I could tell that he was not pleased with the idea but this was not about our personal feelings alone it's also harder to do with the well-being of the camp now that we had only been able to save few of our resources and we had to beg other camps for the little scraps that they could give us we were barely getting by the tents that we had had gone from about 30 down to 15 or around that number most of them were shall be and could hardly even count as tents everyone was just making what the include of it.
When I came back from the banquet last night I was hardly able to sleep at all and when morning finally came the first thing I did was called over Crane to rub minds together and see what he thought I should do praying was more of the fighting type and he usually just supported whatever decision I came to but still there was hardly anyone else I could share my thoughts with in this place now I wasn't sure who was possibly leaking information over to Dante or Priscilla.
"I don't think he's that bad if he saved you last night because if it wasn't for him then you would not even be back here in the first place so let's think about that first and I have heard about the council of the light and King trying to remove him or at least some of them trying to pull him down from his throne because he does not have a mate or an heir,"
At this point, I already knew the decision that I had to make but I guess I just wanted to buy myself more time. This was the life I thought I was going to live forever for the rest of my life. I did not never think that I would ever become a park wolf again, much less the Lycan.
It was like fishing with a warm bait and then catching a whale unexpectedly, not necessarily a bad thing but overwhelming nevertheless.
"Then I guess the decision has already been made," I said standing up in my shabby tent.
"Tonight I'll discuss everything with the company members those who want to stay and come along with me will be free to do so,"
Crane's eyes immediately widened.
"You made plans for the rest of us too? Even after everything that happened?"
"Of course I did did you think that I only went to that bank with just to help myself out I could never abandon the people of this camp and understand that they trust cannot be the same as a park and many people always expect to be betrayed everyone here has been betrayed one way or the other if they are innocent so I understand if they would have trust issues but that doesn't mean that I'm going to abandon them,"
Last night I had told Lucian the Lycan King that I was not going to abandon my camp and what plans he had for them if I decided to sign the contract that he was thinking of forming.
He told me that it was not problematic at all for him that all I had to do was simply join his pack and he would make the rest of them remember the same Park.
I couldn't believe it at all most wolves that became Brooks could rarely become Park wolves again they were seen as rejected and discussing and nobody ever wanted them back the only way they usually were able to join another pack was if they did something greatly heroic and admirable or if by some chance of lock the happened to have a mate in the park that was willing to accept them.
All in all, it was not something that happened every other Tuesday it was a rare occurrence something that was not often found and to think that a Lycan park was going to accept several werewolf rogues was almost completely unheard of.
I was not completely sure of it yet but I just had to hope that he would keep to his word no matter what else he said to me that was what I was hoping on both me and my right hand man kept talking about the lottery sticks of everything when all of the sudden someone burst into my tent and both of us looked toward that direction at the same time.
"Cassie?" I called out her name. She had tears running down her face and she looked like she had not slept in days. She had also lost a lot of weight. I was about to ask her what was wrong that made her run in like that with so many tears in her eyes.
"I have a clue please come with me, I think we'll be able to find Lily!"
Both my right-hand men stood up together but then she looked at Crane and said that he didn't need to come, that this was something that both of us could handle on our own.
I should have smelled something fishy there but I guess I got a little emotional with the hope that we were finally going to find out innocent little girl that we had been searching for for weeks now and had not been able to see and so without much question despite how strangely she was acting I followed classy into the Woods we continue to move together until we completely out of our campgrounds we passed the part of the forest that had been burned and destroyed because of Raphael and when's back to the fresh side again we continue to move until hours had passed and I was getting confused.
Then suddenly she stopped when it was already evening and said.
"We're here,"
I don't know what's going to happen next because everything was suddenly in darkness
