Chapter 16 HOSTAGE OF AN ALPHA
Raphael's POV
I took in another deep breath, tilting my head upwards to look at the moonless sky, I clutched my clothes closer to myself as an unsteady breeze passed by.
"We don't have all night, you know?" A pipsqueak piped up behind me, in any other circumstance other than this I would have ripped his throat apart but I held onto my patience
tightly.
Beside him was another peep squeak that chuckled together the new what was keeping them safe and they were really testing me.
Looking forward my eyes landed on the cabin.
It was shabbier than the last time I came here which was really saying something, I took one step in and I was hit with the scent of rotting wood and something else I would not care to identify sitting at the center of the disaster of cobwebs and rats was the person I had come here to see.
"Alpha Raphael I'm glad you could make it, please sit down," I could hear a hint of mockery in his voice and it was completely undeniable as he gestured towards a chair that completely matched the dilapidated cabin.
After swallowing down my reservations I sat down shifting comfortably throughout the entire conversation.
"I don't have time to waste Dante so let's make sure that we are not dancing around in circles today and move straight to what I want to know, Does that woman look like she's giving up anytime soon.
He shrugged as if I had not offered him an amazing opportunity that other rogues would be leaping at drool coming out of their mouths.
I had agreed to make the same arrangement with him that Celestia had made with other alphas and lunas throwing a lot on the table but all I wanted was one thing for him to destroy Celestia to have her kicked out of the rogue community so that she would have no other choice than to turn back to me again.
First, it started with the rumors then I decided that we had to up the game a bit since she was being too cocky for my liking.
"How many people have you kidnapped so far?" He stood up.
"Why don't I show you?"
I followed him to another room in the cabin. Somehow it managed to be worse than the rest of it. I had to hold my breath on the stage alone which hit me like a whip.
There were about five people he had captured, three of them women, two were women and one of them was a little girl. She looked about right for my son's age.
I squatted down to her level. All of them were bound by their hands and feet. I took a closer look at her and my jaw clenched up.
I quickly left the room and as soon as the door was closed blocking all sound from it I said to Dante.
"You kidnapped a child?" I said standing upright.
"Yeah, she was even the first that I took, smart right?"
I spun to look at him. Anyone who saw me right now would think that a horn had spawned out of my head.
"Is there something wrong with you? She's a pup?"
Dante took a cigarette from his pocket and took a huge puff then exhaled some of it coming out and mixing with the already horrible smell of this place.
"And so what? It's not like you pack wolves see us as people anyway? Do you care about some random rogue pup or getting what you want?"
I paced around the room, it would have been better if I had never seen that child at all but now that I had it was weighing heavily on my mind. That helpless fragile look reminded me too much of my own son Jason.
How did a child that young even end up becoming a rogue?
"You already have four other hostages," I said firmly, "the next time I come here I don't want to see that pup am I clear?"
His face was tight for a moment then it settled into a smile that rubbed me the wrong way but so did everything else about him so I did not put it to mind.
I left that cabin escorted out once again by those annoying rogue warriors. They were being a nuisance agent and this time I had run out of patience as one of them tried to nudge me forward with their hand. I turned around grabbed him by his neck in one single motion and swung him towards a tree.
"It seems you fools need a reminder, I am an alpha far above all of you. None of you could even hold your heads up high towards the lowest rank in my pack do not ever confuse my tolerance for weakness,"
I waited for a little bit until his frantic movement for breath was becoming weaker. Then I released him. He was gasping for air and his companion was trying and failing to help.
I gave them one last warning look seeing how they shivered under my eyes and a wave of satisfaction hit me before I left.
That was the only thing after I arrived in my hotel room again.
Interacting with rogues left a bitter taste in my mouth. All of them were so unbearably foul.
That would explain why Celestia herself had become so insufferable she was already terrible before but now something had shifted inside her.
The Celestia of the past only needed to be told how high she needed to jump, but now she had become full of herself.
A woman like her who lived like an animal now.
I settled into bed tonight with fewer worries. In the following days, everything that woman had built up for these past 5 years would come crumbling down and she would come to me crawling on her knees begging for another chance.
