Chapter 122 PARENT’S TRUTH

Chapter 122 PARENT’S TRUTH
Celestia's Pov

I had been searching through the pack archives for over a week and I was starting to lose hope of finding anything more than my father's investigation notes. Then on my eighth day in Brazen Pack I found a hidden compartment in one of the old filing cabinets.

I was going through my father's old Beta records when I noticed the back panel of the drawer seemed thicker than it should be. I pressed on it and heard a click. A false back panel slid open revealing a small hidden space.

Inside was a leather journal and several sealed envelopes. My hands were shaking as I pulled them out. This was it. This was what I had been searching for.

I took everything back to my guest quarters before opening anything. I needed privacy for this. Lucian was out meeting with Raphael about pack business so I was alone.

I opened the journal first and saw my father's handwriting on the first page. It was dated about two weeks before his death.

"If anyone is reading this it means I am dead. I am documenting everything I have discovered because I believe my life may be in danger. What I have uncovered is a conspiracy involving theft, fraud, and possibly murder. I pray I am wrong but I must prepare for the worst."

My throat tightened as I read those words. My father had known he was in danger. He had known someone might kill him and he tried to leave evidence behind.

I kept reading and the journal detailed everything my father had discovered. Eclipse and Medea had been stealing from the pack for years. They had been skimming money from various accounts and covering their tracks with false documents.

My father estimated they had stolen over half a million dollars. He had traced payments to offshore accounts and documented every transaction. The evidence was damning and irrefutable.

“I confronted Eclipse yesterday. I told her I knew what she and her sister were doing. I gave her a chance to confess and return the money. She laughed in my face and said I had no proof. When I told her I had documented everything, her expression changed. She looked afraid, and then she looked calculating. I realize now that confronting her was a mistake. She knows I am a threat to her schemes.”

Lucian’s face hardened, all warmth draining away. “You should have come to us first,” he said quietly—not in anger, but in grim understanding.

“I know,” the Alpha replied, voice tight. “I thought fear would stop her. I was wrong.”

“Yes,” I said softly. “Fear doesn’t stop people like Eclipse. It sharpens them.”

Silence pressed in as the implication settled. Eclipse wouldn’t retreat now. She wouldn’t lie low and hope this passed. She would move—fast, ruthless, and without hesitation.

“She’s going to strike,” Lucian said. “Not later… Not eventually. Soon.”

And this time, she wouldn’t be trying to protect herself.

She would be trying to eliminate the problem.

Which meant every moment we wasted debating was another moment she could use to set her plan in motion.

I felt cold reading that entry. My father had confronted Eclipse and signed his own death warrant. She could not let him expose her so she decided to eliminate him.

The next entry was even worse.

“I have seen Eclipse meeting with known rogue criminals in the woods outside pack territory. I followed her and watched from a distance. She was giving them money and showing them pictures. I could not hear what she said, but the rogues looked at the pictures and nodded. My blood ran cold when I realized the pictures were of my family. Of my mate and children. Eclipse is planning something terrible, and I have to stop her.”

For a heartbeat, no one spoke.

Lucian rose slowly to his feet, the air around him shifting, heavy with restrained fury. “Are you certain?” he asked, though his tone suggested he already knew the answer.

“I would stake my life on it,” the Alpha said hoarsely. “Those rogues are killers. They don’t nod unless they’ve accepted a contract.”

That did it.

“Lock the borders,” Lucian ordered. “Now… Double the patrols, pull every surveillance record from the last two weeks, and bring me Eclipse’s movements—every step, every contact.”

I felt the cold settle in my bones, sharp and unmistakable. This wasn’t rumor or paranoia. This was intent.

“She’s escalating,” I said quietly. “Which means she’s running out of time.”

Lucian’s gaze found mine, dark and lethal. “Then so are we.”

Because if Eclipse had put targets on children, this stopped being politics.

It became war.

My father had seen Eclipse plotting with rogues. He had known she was going to attack his family. But he must not have been able to stop it in time.

The final entry in the journal was dated the day before the attack that killed my family.

"I am taking my evidence to the council tomorrow. I have copies of everything hidden in multiple locations. If something happens to me I need people to know the truth. Eclipse and Medea are dangerous. They have killed before to protect their secrets. I found evidence that they poisoned their own parents when they discovered the theft. They made it look like the pack's execution for treason was justified but really they were just eliminating witnesses."

So Eclipse and Medea had even killed their own parents to cover up their crimes. They were monsters. Pure evil.

“I am moving my family to a safe house tonight. I will not take any chances with their lives. If Eclipse tries something, we will be ready.”

The room went still at that.

No one argued and no one suggested he was overreacting. The tension had crossed that invisible line where caution became necessity.

“That’s wise,” Lucian said after a moment. “Increase the guards… Rotate them frequently, and no one outside this room needs to know where they’re being taken.”

He met the Alpha’s gaze, expression grim. “If Eclipse is cornered, she’ll be unpredictable.”

A nod sharp Decisive.

Plans were already forming—escape routes, contingencies, signals if something went wrong. This was no longer just about political maneuvering or old grudges.

This was about survival.

And somewhere in the shadows, a woman who had already lost everything might be deciding she had nothing left to fear.

But they had not been ready. The rogues had attacked the safe house and killed everyone except me. I had only survived because I was not there that night. I had been at a pack event that ran late.

I put the journal down and opened the sealed envelopes. Inside were copies of all the financial documents my father had gathered. Bank statements, transaction records, forged authorisations. Everything needed to prove Eclipse and Medea's theft.

There was also a sealed letter addressed to the pack council. I opened it and read my father's formal accusation against Eclipse and Medea. He laid out the evidence clearly and demanded a full investigation.

This letter had never been delivered. My father was killed before he could present it to the council.

But now I had it. I had all the proof I needed to expose Eclipse and Medea for everything they did. The theft, the murders, the conspiracy. All of it was documented in my father's careful handwriting.

I sat there holding the evidence and felt rage burning through me. These women had killed my entire family. My father, my mother, my brother, my sister. All dead because Eclipse and Medea wanted to protect their stolen money.

And then they had framed me and stolen my son and exiled me. They had taken everything from me twice over.

My rage burned cold and controlled. I was not going to lose my temper or act rashly. I was going to use this evidence strategically to destroy them both.

Eclipse was already in prison serving a twenty year sentence. But that was not enough. She needed to be charged with murder. With killing my family and her own parents. She needed to spend the rest of her life in prison with no possibility of ever being free.

And Medea needed to face justice too. She had helped cover up the murders. She had helped steal from the pack. She had helped frame me. She was just as guilty as her sister.

Eclipse and Medea had taken everything from me. My family, my son, my home, my reputation. They had destroyed my life without any remorse.

Now it was my turn to destroy theirs.

And I was going to enjoy every moment of watching them fall.
