Chapter 64 Chapter 64
Chapter 64

\- Jason -

I was walking down the corridor when I saw Aria and Alexei talking together.

Whenever I was anywhere around where she was, she would go quiet, but here she was, talking and laughing heartily with Alexei.

I stopped for a while, watching her face lit with a soft confidence

I wouldn't lie I really missed this part of her

Then I walked towards them.

"Excuse me," she said to Alexei before turning to walk away without a word to me

I frowned and followed her with my eyes

"Oh wow," Alexei muttered and I could tell he wanted to comment on what just happened.

"Don't!" I said immediately and he grinned.

"Don't what? Do you even know what I want to say?"

"I don't know and I don't care," I said.

"Well, you want me to do something for you?" He asked.

"No."

"So you came here because of her then," he said. "And it seems she doesn't even want to see you."

I glared at him.

"What were you discussing with her?" I asked him.

"Nothing serious. Please don't transfer aggression. I was having a harmless conversation. It's not my fault she does want to talk to you."

"You've had it," I warned.

"My sincere apologies, Alpha," Alexei said with a light tone, but he had a big grin on his face.

I looked in the direction Aria had walked in even though she had disappeared into a corner

I went in search of her later and found her in the garden. I didn't even know who blossomed more between her and the flowers

I approached her slowly and whether she noticed my presence or not, she did not bother turning to look.

I realised, only when I tood close to her that I had no words to say

"Aria how are you?" Was the available one I could think of at that moment.

"Alpha, I am doing fine thank you," she finally looked in my direction, but not at my face, and her response was official as before, unenthusiastic

I wanted to tell her I had made a mistake by saying we needed boundaries. I wanted to tell her I didn't mean it and to apologise for the way I had spoken and treated her, but my ego wouldn't let me.

"Is there anything you need me to do for you, Alpha?" She asked when I wasn't saying anything.

"I uhm," I cleared my throat. "Not really, I just wanted to check up on you."

"Oh, I am doing fine thank you."

I tried again, to brace myself so I'd say the words.

"If you'd kindly excuse me please," she said and walked away. I had just opened my mouth to render the apologies.

I closed it back, angry with myself for not speaking on time and angry with her for not waiting to listen to me.

This is getting out of hand. I was the one who brought up the boundary thing, and now she's acting as if her life depended on it. Like she had always wanted it.

And now I was finding it difficult to end what I started but I knew I couldn't continue this way

I want us to be back to the way we were before now. But how do I get it? I hope I have not ruined the beautiful thing, whatever it was, that we have together.

\- Natasha -

These past few days, I have observed and watched Aria and Jason closely and something seems to be off

I cannot tell if she's done something wrong but I noticed Jason's been cold and harsh towards her.

So I snuck around to get more details.

No more long and hearty conversations, no more smiles and laughter, no more dinners together. Everyone stayed on their own until they had to make an appearance to the public.

But they cannot fool everyone, especially me, who has been in the corners watching every one of their movements. This means it is my time to strike.

Since no one was paying attention, no one will be able to link anything to me.

I took my phone and placed a call. It was picked at the second ring

"Were you not planning to pick up my call?" I asked, slightly annoyed.

"I was busy when it came in," Doctor Kira said at the other end. "Busy with some research."

"Or busy with those little boys you mean?" I said and she sighed.

"Is there any reason you are calling?" She asked.

Of course. You think I just want to check up on you? It's about our plan with Aria. It's time to strike."

"Are you sure? I thought we agreed to lay low until we are sure the course is clear. Remember we cannot let the Alpha find out."

"You don't know this better than I do," I said. "Right now it feels she's upset the Alpha or something. He's been cold towards her, and they are no longer as close together as before. He wouldn't be there to protect her if anything happens."

"Are you sure that is enough for us to make a move now?" She asked.

"It is enough to make a fatal blow before he finds out and tries to do something. I know what I am saying. Just do as I say before it is too late."

"Alright. What do I need to do? I will send you everything. Just watch out."

I ended the call and dropped the phone with a small smile at the corner of my lips.

If I can achieve this, it is everything I need to bring Aria down

Without the pregnancy, she'd be nothing to Jason and everything they've planned together will crash.

I knew the only reason he had tolerated her before now was because of the pregnancy. Let's see how long she'd last here without it.

I'd love to see the look on her face when she finds out she is no longer pregnant.
