Chapter 25

To Zander the night was the longest he had ever experienced. He had never had to endure just staying close and dancing with one woman. He was used to California playing the room, picking one nighters, making love and going home. Not this time, he hated every minute of it, and kept hearing what Kay-Leah had whispered to him about hurting her mom. Did she really know the truth about what was going on or had she just been letting him know that she just thought she knew something. Fucking Jewel, those two are close she probably said something to Kay-Leah, Jewel can never keep her mouth shut, that is the one thing Jewel and I always are at odds over. Zander finally let his mind rest and fell asleep.

“Sophie, tell me something, did you enjoy yourself last night?”

“Did I enjoy myself? What kind of question is that? I have never been treated the way you treated me last night. Last night reminded me why I love you so much, you are not afraid to have fun, and you know how to treat a lady.”

The things we do for the love of our children, if you only knew the truth, then again maybe you do, “There is more to come, we are going to my parents house for dinner, which means the kids come too. The limo will be here at 6:00. Make sure you tell them to be on their best behavior we do not need any mishaps.” This acting thing I do is the shit, I can pull off anything.

“The kids will love that, they have never been in a limo. Have you told them what we are doing, or do I need to do it?”

“No, not yet. I sort of wanted to surprise them. My parents have a few surprises for them as well. Then I have a few more surprises for them.” Got to love the movie business, clothes are free, all the stuff I want to get is pretty much free once it is used on the sets. I do not have to spend any money on this bitch and her kids.

“Zander you are going to spoil them, then, when you go back to California they will expect me to do it. Not to mention you are going to spoil me.”

“You might as well get used to me spoiling you and the kids that is just how I am. I just want to be able to give you and the kids the things that they do not have but want the same for you. I love you and those kids, get used to it.”

“I guess I may as well just get used to being spoiled then, I am sure you are not going to stop spoiling us so why try to make you. As for the kids, there are a lot of things they want that I cannot afford to give them, they won’t argue too much. Their father does not buy shit for them even at Christmas or for their birthdays. He is not now or really ever to be honest around for them.” It hurt her to say that she really did not want him to know how bad of a father Alex had been all these years, it just came out.

“I think we need to get up and out of this bed, although I really would rather just stay in it. The limo will be here in a few hours; we have laid here and lost the whole damn day. We all have to shower, and get ready, plus you need to have that talk to those kids about best behavior. Here are there outfits and this is yours.”

Zander decided to just yell for the kids to come in and get there outfits and have their mom talk to them. The last thing he needed was to have the kids act like the hell raisers they are in front of his parents. They are proper, well known people in the area; they would lose it and kick them out if they act up.

Hey, kids, come here, your mom needs you now.” He could not yell for them by name he was not really listening close enough to know the three of their names he just remembered the fat ones name that was pregnant since he had an Aunt with the same name.

“What, is daddy back, I thought I heard him yell for us.” Heather said excitedly.

“Get a life Heather, Dad does not care about us, he does not come to see us, you know that, when he does come around it is to see mom, and argue with Kay-Leah.” Jared replied with a lot of resentment and anger in his voice.

“Okay, enough you two, he does care about us, dad just has been working a lot of hours lately, which makes it hard for him to come over to see us. Right, mom?”

“Kay-Leah is right, now stop the fussing, and arguing, Zander has a surprise for you, go find him to get it.” Sophie had hoped that she has pacified the kid’s curiosity as to why their father was not coming over. Of course deep down, she had hoped that after what he did to her that she would never come over again, but the kids are his and he does have a right to see them.

Zander took a deep breath, I hate to deal with kids, and I especially hate these ungrateful fucking brats. “Do you remember the limo that picked your mom and me up last night? Well, the same one will be picking us all up tonight, actually in a few hours. We are going to my parent’s house, which means you all have to get cleaned up, dressed, and most of all behave. I got each of you new outfits, now go get ready.” What you do not know is the new outfits were worn once by the people in the movie I just did, but who cares, they were free for me.

“Thank you Zander, but, I think I have to pass, I do not want to embarrass you nor have your parents think bad of my mom because I am pregnant. They may not take it too well seeing a fourteen year old pregnant about to pop. These are nice clothes though.” I have no reason to meet your family; you two will be over and done when mom catches on to what you are up to.

“My parents already know, I told them, they still want to meet you. No go on get ready, you are still family.” Although my parents said its fine they will be having something to say, of course they had to wonder what the hell kind of mom lets her fourteen year old keep a baby, or to get pregnant for that matter.

“Zander, I am so nervous, what if your parents do not like me? Then what are we going to do?”

My parents know my plan they have to like your fat ass. “My parents will love you, they love everyone. You worry too much, I love you, I fell in love with you when we first met, and so will they. Besides, who are you marrying my parents or me, who are you living with and sleeping with them or me?”
