The feeling of deceit

“Micah, I dont give a flying fuck who you are, if you dont unlock this door right now, I swear I will cave your skull in with my bare hands!” Ash growled loudly at her mate.

“Ashlyn Faye, your threats do nothing but turn me on, but you are not leaving this room dressed like that…. He is not seeing you like that” Micah returned with a seductive pur, rubbing her shoulders softly as he leant down to steal another kiss.

“Well whose fault is it that im dressed like this? Hmm? You know my routine as well as I do, but you decided to come and interrupt my study time and then drag me into your bedroom!” Ash returned, though she couldnt help the blush that spread over her face at the thought of the interruption that he had been. it was amazing what damage one single claw could cause to clothing.

“Mmmmmm that’s what I thought, my little mate…. Keep thinking what you’re thinking and you definitely won’t be leaving this room” Micah returned, nuzzling into the side of his mates neck and inhaling her scent deeply, his arms wrapping around her body as he tried to pick her up.

Ash knew that Micah was finding it harder and harder to restrain his urges, the frustration that he felt at the fact that she didn’t feel the mate bond urges like he did was all to obvious. It didn’t help that she was surrounded by other men practically all day long.

Micah had only just stopped himself from marking her in the corridor in front of everyone the other day, his lunch breaks were often coinciding with the times when she would be alone in their flat so that he could cover her in his scent before she went out again. “

Micah, I have to leave the room to get changed! let go of me, I’ve got to go meet the guys downstairs soon and I know for a fact you have a video call with that other Alpha guy, you were complaining about how he was going to show off his mate the whole time and try to make you jealous.”

“Ahhh, but what if I took the call from my bed with you all sleepy and satiated on my chest? who would win then do you think?” Micah suggested with a wiggle of his eyebrows.

“Still him, because you would never let anyone see me like that” Ash pointed out as she reach around him for the door handle while he was distracted.

Micah tilted his head to the side for a moment as he considered her words. “You have a point… but that wont stop me being late to leave you in my bed like that” he answered with a wide grin as he grabbed Ash around the waist and tossed her onto the bed as if she weighed nothing more than a doll.

At Ash’s squeal, there was a feral sounding growl from outside the bedroom, Micah returned a snarl of his own “Mine!” as two giant paws hit the door like cement blocks.

“Shadow it’s fine, go back to the fire” Ash called out.

“The bloody fairy will be here in a minute, and he will probably bring Harry fucking Potter with him too” Micah grumbled as he tried to hide Ash in his sheets almost without thought, he began to build a nest around them.

Blaze had appeared at the gates on a black bike with a jet black hound snapping at his heels about 3 days after they had returned from the palace. Apparently he travelled lightly and planned to make the pack his new home.

He had soon charmed his way into Mrs Black and Melody’s good books, though relations between Micah, Kit and Blaze were as choppy as ever. The animal the seemed to come with him had attached itself to Ash and rarely left her side, but with a hell hound at your side, Micah had to agree there wasn’t much Ash wouldn’t be able to get out of, if only it didnt see the wolf in Micah as such a threat.

As if Micah had summoned them, the main door to his and Ash’s living quarters was thrown open with a resounding bang. The hound fell silent instantly as Kit and Blaze rushed over to the door. “Ash, my Princess, are you ok?” The fae called out, as Kit tried the door.

“Is it safe for us to come in?” Kit asked sensibly, having more experience with Ash’s frustrated mate.

Ash sighed heavily, trying to push Micah off her. “I’m fine guy’s, its probably best if you leave this to me though. I’ll come find you both when I’m ready for some more training…. could you take shadow with you too please?”

“But… My Princess…” Blaze stuttered.

“No, enough! I’m fucking sick of this pissing contest, there is far too much testosterone surrounding me all the time and all you do with that hound is wind my mate up” Ash shouted over his protests and Micah’s snarls.

“If you two can’t learn to get along, I will have to lock the pair of you in a cell together!” Both men fell silent at this, Blaze leaving the flat with Kit and Shadow.

It had been a rough few weeks with Blaze in residence. Ash personally found his antics quite funny, but the wolves were much less thrilled and Kit had said he was not going to deal with any more angry wolves or knife holes in the walls of their shared flat on the floor below Micah and Ash’s.

Ash wasnt entirely sure where all the hordes of angry wolves came from or why they are so angry, though she can imagine why there were so many holes in the walls, the mad did have a thing for throwing knives.

Micah’s issue seemed to be that Blaze refused to tell them anything about his past. Oh and he loved to be draped over Ash. Ash didnt really mind him touching her, but she knew why Micah hated it, he could smell the other male on her every time he did it. She had tried to explain it to blaze and she had a feeling he knew exactly what he was doing but just loved to wind the other man up.

Rowan had given Ash a very brief crash course on the fae in general when Blaze had arrived. She knew that like werewolves they were probably much older than they looked. It was highly unlikely that Blaze was his true name and that while it was true that some fae couldnt lie, all would claim that trait and then lie to your face. Ash figured that this was possibly a slightly biased view but none the less, she would be wary until they knew him better.

Much to Rowan and Micah’s surprise, Blaze seemed to be very honest to the point of being blunt. He told them, well he told Ash, that he could and would lie to anyone but her, especially if that lie would help to keep her safe. and just to prove that point, he proceeded to answer a large proportion of Rowans questions with blatant, if somewhat hilarious lies.

To Ash’s surprise, he pulled off these untruths with a straight face, but she could tell, there was a strange feeling in the pit of her stomach that made her realise what she was being told wasnt entirely true. When had she felt this before? She knew that she had felt it, but was only just not learning what it meant.
