Chapter 56 Jennifer's Lie
"I..." Jennifer's sentence hung in the air.
"Really, you won't go and forgive me? Hmm... besides, Alex is still sick. I promise I'll give him special care and get a great doctor to treat him. The doctor might come today! But since you're sick... I plan to postpone it!" Gerald exclaimed again.
"Don't!!" Jennifer suddenly shouted.

"Not too far!" Gerald shook his head.
"Then it's decided! The three of us will go there! Okay?" said Jennifer, looking happy.
Gerald frowned, "The three of us? But... given the current situation, yesterday's issue... I'm worried..."
"Come on, Gerald. Can't we just go as a family without bodyguards? That would attract a lot of attention! I think the gossip has died down a bit, hasn't it? You've already taken care of it, right?" asked Jennifer.

Gerald nodded slowly and kissed Jennifer's forehead, saying, "Rest! I'll be back later!"
Jennifer froze a little when Gerald kissed her, but then tried to act normal and smiled warmly.
"Okay!" said Jennifer as she quickly lay down and pulled the blanket up high to cover her neck.
Gerald exhaled heavily and with relief as he stood up and then turned to walk toward the exit.
When unlocking Jennifer's door, Gerald paused and looked back at Jennifer. Jennifer looked at him with a warm smile and pretended to be sleepy, then closed her eyes.
Gerald smiled and left Jennifer's room, but the door was heard locking again from the outside.
Jennifer opened her eyes and lay back down. "It seems like he doesn't fully trust me. Damn it! I have to get out of here! I can't possibly live under the same roof as that dangerous man who could change at any moment! This time it might be me, but tomorrow? It could be Alex he hurts, right? I need someone's help! But Captain Bryan... Gerald will definitely find out!"
Jennifer got out of bed and paced around her room.
Suddenly Jennifer stopped, she hesitated a little but then a thought occurred to her, "That means there's only one person who can help me right now, yeah... only that person can! I'll call him!"
Jennifer took her phone and called someone. After finishing the call, she hung up, put her phone away, and returned it to her bag.
Jennifer smiled triumphantly, “I’m sorry, Gerald! But I feel like you’re dangerous! You’re a werewolf! Even though I don’t believe it… but… I saw it myself, and you’re terrifying! I could never trust you with Alex!”
Jennifer returned to her bed and tried to close her eyes again. Not long after, she fell asleep.

"Sir? What happened?" Suddenly, someone appeared when they heard items falling from the table because the man had slammed it.
The man turned with a terrifying look, "Did I call you, Beta Mark?"
"N-no! I'm sorry, Alpha, I was just worried about you... so... I'll leave now!" said the man, who then nodded and intended to leave.
"Wait a minute!" said the man called Alpha.
"Yes, Alpha? Do you need my help?" he asked, turning around and looking uncertain.
The man nodded and then said, "Come closer!"
The man called Beta Mark approached slowly, and then the man who had slammed the table whispered softly.
A look of disbelief and surprise, as well as doubt, stared back at him, "Are you sure, Alpha? Is what you're saying true?"
"Of course it's true! He contacted me himself! So don't ask so many questions! Quickly prepare some of our men and wait for further instructions! Go now and carry out the task I've given you!" said the man called Alpha.
"Yes, Alpha!" he nodded and then left.
