Chapter 44 A Hot Kiss in the Morning!

Chapter 44 A Hot Kiss in the Morning!
"Hello, Miss Ross, this is Mark, Mr Dixon's assistant. I'm sorry to bother you, but is this a good time?" asked the voice on the other end.

Jennifer covered the phone with her hand, especially the speaker.

"It's Mark, Mr Dixon's assistant!" Jennifer exclaimed in a slightly low voice.

Gerald frowned, "Dixon? What does he want? Just talk, I want to know why he's calling you!"

Jennifer nodded slowly, then opened her hand and put the call on loudspeaker.

"Ah, yes, I remember, Mr. Mark, of course! How can I help you, Mr. Mark?"

"I'm sorry, Miss Ross, I was instructed by Mr. Dixon to contact you, and Mr. Dixon actually wanted to speak to you directly, but he was afraid you would reject him! So, I ended up contacting you."

Jennifer, who was impatient, took a deep breath and exhaled heavily.

"Just tell me why you're calling me, Mr Mark, no need to beat around the bush! Or I'll hang up if you keep talking like this!" Jennifer exclaimed, sounding annoyed.

"I'm sorry, Miss Ross, the reason I contacted you is... Mr Dixon would like to invite you to lunch, or dinner, perhaps? Mr Dixon would like to apologize personally for what happened earlier..." Mark exclaimed from the other end of the line.

An impatient Jennifer cut Mark off.

"Tell Mr Dixon that I've forgotten about it! And I don't think I need the dinner invitation!" Jennifer said curtly.

"I'm sorry, Miss Ross, Mr Dixon feels bad. If you refuse Mr Dixon's dinner invitation, it means you haven't forgiven him! At least give Mr Dixon a chance to explain everything!" Mark exclaimed again.

"I don't think so, Mr Mark. I..." Jennifer said reluctantly.

"Of course it's necessary, Miss Ross! I think you should hear Mr Dixon's side of the story! There's something we think you need to know... about Mr Williams!"

Jennifer frowned while Gerald leaned against a wall. They were now outside Gerald's room.

"Pfft! Old trick!" Gerald exclaimed mockingly.

"Did you say something, Miss Ross?" Suddenly, the voice on the other end spoke again.

Jennifer glared at Gerald and quickly turned the call back to a normal call and put it to her ear.

"Ah, I didn't say anything, Mr Mark, I think you misheard me!" said Jennifer again.

"So, can you accept Mr Dixon's invitation? Because if not, I will continue to contact you every day until you agree!" Mark exclaimed again.

"Ugh! How pushy!" Jennifer muttered softly as she covered the phone with her hand so it wouldn't be heard.

Gerald, who heard her, walked over and said, "Just turn off the call then! No need to beat around the bush!"

Jennifer turned her head to look at Gerald's face.

"But... that would be rude, wouldn't it?" Jennifer hesitated to answer.

"In that case, let me answer the phone! Because I don't need to be polite to him!" Gerald stepped forward, about to reach out his finger.

Jennifer hurriedly walked away! "No! No need!"

"Miss? Miss Ross? Are you still there?" Mark's voice on the other end interrupted Jennifer's conversation with Gerald.

"Yes! I'm still here!" Jennifer exclaimed quickly.

"Ah, all right! So what do you say, Miss Ross? You agree, don't you? If you agree, we'll pick you up this afternoon! Just let us know your current address!" exclaimed the voice on the other end.

Jennifer was a little lost in thought, thinking about how to refuse Mr Dixon's invitation.

Gerald, who saw Jennifer looking lost in thought, suddenly had an idea and then approached her from behind.

Gerald hugged Jennifer from behind and kissed her neck.

"Argh! Gerald! What are you doing?" Jennifer unconsciously shouted without hanging up the phone.

"Honey... I've been waiting for you for so long! Come on! I can't wait any longer!" Gerald exclaimed in a slightly loud voice.

Jennifer immediately understood and panicked. "Are you crazy?!" Jennifer snapped.

"Miss Ross, are you with someone there? Is that Mr Williams?" said the voice on the other end.

Jennifer hurriedly replied, "Ah, no! Hmm... I'll think about it! I'll call you later... and... Gerald, let go of me!"

Gerald hugged her tightly again and began to kiss her neck slowly, moving on to Jennifer's exposed shoulder, because at that moment Jennifer was wearing a white off-shoulder top with a brown wide skirt.

Jennifer tried to free herself from Gerald's embrace, but Gerald only became more aggressive. He pushed Jennifer against the wall, lifted her arms above her head, and kissed her lips suddenly and passionately until Jennifer lost control, unconsciously returning Gerald's kiss with equal ferocity.

Gerald took Jennifer's mobile phone, released her arms, which he had been holding tightly above her head, and turned his back to Jennifer, then spoke.

"Jennifer is busy! And forget about that useless dinner invitation! Because she can't! And I won't allow it!" Then Gerald hung up the phone.

Tut!

Jennifer was stunned. She didn't expect Gerald to do that! And what made her angry was that Gerald had easily tricked her with that sly kiss.

Gerald turned around with a smirk. But then he was surprised to see Jennifer's angry reaction.

Gerald scratched his head, "Ah! That was... I was just helping you! So she wouldn't contact you again! So..."

Jennifer's eyes were red and her lips were still swollen from their brief, fierce kiss.

Jennifer roughly grabbed her mobile phone and spoke in an angry tone.

"Really, how childish!" Then she turned to open Alex's door, but before her hand touched the door handle, she spoke.

"Don't follow me! I want to see Alex! ALONE!" Jennifer glanced back where Gerald was standing right behind her.

Jennifer's eyes flashed with anger. Jennifer was annoyed that Gerald was taking advantage of her, and foolishly, Jennifer didn't realise it!

Jennifer was lulled and immersed in Gerald's warm and fierce kiss, which made her heart beat faster and made her forget herself for a moment.

"Ah... what I meant was... I... I just wanted to... help... because... You were talking for too long... so... so..." Gerald seemed to realise his mistake and stammered as he swallowed his saliva.

Jennifer opened the door, turned around, and now faced Gerald, then smiled.

Gerald thought Jennifer wasn't angry because she was smiling, so he stepped towards her, but then Jennifer's gaze turned cold with anger, and suddenly...

"BAM!!"

Jennifer slammed Alex's bedroom door right in Gerald's face.

Leaving Gerald stunned and speechless where he stood.
