Chapter 42 This Time I Won't Let You Go Again!
Gerald looked at John with a frown. Gerald thought he heard something break or fall with his keen hearing.
"Did you hear something, John? Like something falling?" Gerald called out to John.
John frowned, "I didn't hear anything, Alpha? Did you hear something?"
Gerald shook his head, "I don't know, I'm not sure, but it sounded like..."
Before Gerald could finish his sentence, he heard more noises.
"Crash!"
Gerald stood up straight and quickly ran out of the room like a wolf. Gerald transformed himself into his wolf form. Then, right in Alex's room, he sharpened his hearing again.
Gerald returned to his human form and went back to his room. But Gerald forgot one thing he hadn't anticipated: Gerald was completely naked.
"What happened? Are you okay? Tell me!" Gerald was worried, looking at Jennifer, who looked pale and had broken glass under her.
Jennifer stared at Gerald without blinking. She had just realised how perfect Gerald's body was. His body was muscular and toned with a slight tan. His abs were perfectly defined, his hair was slightly messy, his nose was straight, and his eyes were a very unique colour, sometimes greyish green, sometimes bluish green, but definitely radiating a very magical glow.
Jennifer's gaze unintentionally fell to the lower part of Gerald's body, his weapon... it was enormous. Without realising it, Jennifer swallowed hard, and then, when she came to her senses, she screamed.
"Arghhhh!!! Gerald! Have you lost your mind? Why are you... naked in front of me?" Jennifer covered her eyes with both hands.
Gerald finally realised, scratching his head. "Haven't you seen it before, even felt it? So why are you screaming?"
Jennifer, annoyed, opened her eyes and looked away. "I-it's different! Can you cover yourself with something, Gerald? Besides, what were you doing that you're completely naked like that?"
Gerald walked slowly, grabbed a towel from the bathroom, and covered his lower body.
"There! Now open your eyes! I just finished showering! Of course I'm naked!" Gerald deliberately lied; he couldn't tell her the truth because Jennifer wouldn't believe him.
Jennifer slowly opened her hands and breathed a little easier, but the sight in front of her still made her a little uncomfortable.
"Can't you get dressed first, Gerald? I-I'm a little uncomfortable seeing this! Only after that can we talk!" Jennifer said, looking down.
Gerald frowned again, but he complied with Jennifer's request and quickly grabbed his clothes and put them on.
Gerald approached Jennifer again and sat down next to her bed, looking down at the broken glass.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do it. I was going to get a drink, but my hands were slippery and... when I was going to grab another glass, I dropped... the teapot because... because my hands were... shaking!" Jennifer looked scared and confused.
Gerald smiled warmly and hugged her.
"Why are you... hugging me? Gerald, let me go!" Jennifer tried to break free from Gerald's embrace.
Gerald relented and loosened his embrace, stroking her hair and shoulders.
"Did you have a bad dream?" Gerald asked again.
Jennifer was silent and surprised, "How did you know?"
Gerald tapped Jennifer's pointed nose, "It was very obvious! You weren't sleeping well in the car! I thought it was because the car was uncomfortable, but it turns out..."
"Huh? Did I say something in my sleep?" Jennifer was afraid that she had unconsciously said something while dreaming, and Gerald would think she was crazy.
"Hmm... I guess so!" Gerald seemed to be thinking.
"Really? What did I say?" Jennifer moved closer to Gerald so that their heels touched this time.
"You said... Gerald! Don't stop! Faster, deeper... ah, uh, ah!" Gerald exclaimed, gesturing with his hands.
Jennifer's face flushed instantly as she covered Gerald's mouth with her hand and hit him with her other hand.
"Can't you be a little more serious, Gerald! Stop teasing me! I was really scared just now... for the past few years... I've always had the same dream!" Jennifer lowered her body, trembling slightly.
Gerald lowered Jennifer's trembling hand and hugged her again.
"Calm down! It's just a dream! Nothing will happen to you! I'm here!" Gerald said softly.
Jennifer slowly returned Gerald's hug.
"Thank you, Gerald! I'm so glad you're here... that dream was terrifying!" Jennifer said, trying to recall her memories of the dream.
"Do you need a drink? Wait a minute, I'll get you one!" Gerald stood up, releasing Jennifer from his embrace.
Jennifer shook her head and looked at him with the remnants of her fear, "Don't go! Can you stay with me a little longer?”
“Of course! I’ll stay with you until you fall asleep! Go to sleep, it’s still nighttime! Tomorrow morning I’ll show you the entire penthouse!” Gerald said, guiding Jennifer back to sleep, covering her with a blanket, and hugging her beside him.
“I don’t know… why does this place feel familiar to me?” Jennifer said softly.
Gerald froze in place. “Do you remember something?”
“Huh? Remember something? Are you joking? I just feel like this place isn’t unfamiliar, maybe I’ve seen it on television, YouTube or… I don’t know…” Jennifer shrugged as she returned to bed and fell asleep.
Gerald smiled, ‘That’s impossible, Jenny… because since I rented this place a few years ago and even bought it, I’ve never allowed anyone to expose it! So the only way you could know it is… because we once lived here together… spending passionate nights, getting to know each other, and eventually falling in love! That's why I brought you here! I hope you can slowly remember our memories when... we were together!"
But Gerald remembered the message from Doctor Moore, his adoptive father, not to force Jennifer to remember anything. She had to slowly undergo this therapy, which was to introduce her to places that held memories of the two of them.
"Maybe! Because this place is popular with many people! But I don't want to let it go!" Gerald said softly.
"Oammm... Why?" Jennifer asked, yawning.
Gerald hugged Jennifer tightly again and pulled her into his chest as he sat at the head of the bed.
"Because this place... holds many memories... of me and... my wife!" Gerald said very softly.
"What memories? Who did you say?" asked Jennifer, who was getting sleepier, her eyes beginning to close.
"Memories of me and you, my wife!" Gerald whispered in Jennifer's ear.
But a moment later, Gerald heard a soft snore from Jennifer's mouth and her hand began to droop.
Jennifer was asleep!
Gerald could only shake his head, "Sleep, my beautiful wife! We still have plenty of time! This time, I won't let you go again..."
Gerald slowly lay down beside his wife and began to fall asleep…
