Chapter 20 Alex Finished Fighting??
Doctor James Moore paused for a moment to take a deep breath. The middle-aged man looked calm.
"So, what are the results, Doctor?" Gerald, who was impatient, asked again.
"As you suspected, Alpha Gerald. Alex has the same chromosomes as a human wolf. And as John suggested, we also conducted a compatibility test with your chromosomes, and it is certain that you, Alpha Gerald, are Alex's father. He is truly your pup. We also conducted several DNA tests, the results of which will be known in a few days, hmm... actually, the results should be out in two weeks..." Dr James Moore paused.
“Do it faster! If necessary, I need the results today. I need them to convince Jenny! Can you help me?” Alpha Gerald asked again.
“I’ll try my best, Alpha Gerald, but it seems the results will only be available in 1-3 days at the earliest,” Dr James Moore replied.
“Alright! Make sure there are no mistakes! If there are any mistakes, then… You know what I’m capable of, don’t you?” Gerald began to stare sharply, like a knife that could pierce someone’s chest and kill them on the spot.
“Alright, Alpha Gerald!” said Dr James.
“Oh, and please keep all of this a secret! Don’t let anyone find out that I did this or that anyone knows the truth about Alex and Jennifer being my family! I don’t want them to be targeted by my enemies! And keep this a secret from Jenny or Jennifer Ross, as you know her!” Gerald said firmly and threateningly, even though he spoke softly.
“Yes, Alpha Gerald!” Dr James Moore nodded.
“What else did you find? Why did he faint and still not regain consciousness?” Gerald asked again.
“Pups—I mean, your son…seems to have had a rough day!”
“What do you mean, Doctor Moore? Get to the point, don’t beat around the bush! Explain what’s really going on?” Gerald grew increasingly impatient.
"It seems he just exerted his strength in battle, and that made him weak from exhaustion and shock at discovering his true self! Biologically, there don't seem to be any significant injuries, but psychologically... he can't accept his true self yet! And this is also dangerous for his physical condition!" said Dr. Moore, looking sad as he watched Alex, who was still asleep and on an IV.
Gerald covered his mouth, feeling helpless. If they hadn't been separated, Gerald would have guided him.
"You mean he just finished fighting, Doctor?"
"You could say that, Alpha Gerald. And there is a way to restore his condition, Alpha Gerald! But of course, this requires your help!" Doctor Moore looked at Alpha Gerald.
"Tell me! Anything! I'm ready to do it!" said Gerald with unwavering determination.
"You must bathe together frequently in... holy water! For about a month, and you must not stop! Isn't there a holy water pool at your house that your pack usually uses?" asked Doctor James Moore.
Gerald looked at John. John nodded.
"You know what you have to do, don't you, Beta John?"
"Yes, I know, Alpha Gerald! I will order everyone in your house to prepare it!"
"Go! And ask some people to stand guard in front of Alex's room, I don't want to be caught off guard again! By now, they must have realised that I took Alex away!" said Gerald.
"Yes, Alpha!" John was about to leave and call someone when he heard Gerald speak again.
"Bring a change of clothes for Jenny and me too... Jenny's size is probably still the same! You can find them in our room! And buy some clothes for Alex, who is 5 years old!" Gerald ordered again.
"All right, Alpha! I'll be right back!" John said goodbye with a salute.
"Go on...!" Gerald waved his hand, signalling John to leave immediately.
Gerald touched his moustache, which was starting to grow thick.
"So that's it, Doctor?" Gerald asked again.
"There's more, Alpha Gerald! And this might hurt you a little..." said Doctor Moore hesitantly.
"Hurt me? What do you mean?" asked Gerald again.
"New pups don't adjust to their condition easily; they will often fall ill and be weak... just like a newborn wolf cub!" James explained again.
"Go on..." Gerald exclaimed, listening intently.
"So, besides bathing him... You need to... give your pup... your blood every morning! He will definitely refuse it... so mix it with another drink that he likes! There is no other way! It will make him much stronger!" said Doctor Moore.
Gerald walked slowly towards Alex, stroking his straight hair, which was exactly like his own, and his deep eyes and the same eye colour he had seen before in Jennifer's flat. One more thing: Alex's nose was a combination of his and Jennifer's, only his eyebrows were clearly his mother's, as well as his upper lip.
"I can do all that, but... I'm not sure Jenny, my wife, will agree to it! Her thinking right now is too... human!" Gerald sighed heavily.
"I understand your current condition, Alpha Gerald, and I sympathise. In that case, keep it a secret from your wife, Mrs Jenny! How about that?" said Doctor James Moore.
"I don't know, Doctor! How long can I hide it? My wife... I mean, Jenny... she's too smart and always alert when it comes to our son, Alex! But I'll try, you don't need to worry!" Gerald exclaimed again.
"Alright! That's all I can say. If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave and return to my room, Alpha Gerald!" James saluted Gerald.
"Wait a minute, Doctor. When will my son regain consciousness?" asked Gerald.
"It seems your son will need much longer, but my prediction is... tonight or tomorrow morning, he will regain consciousness!" said Doctor James again.
"Alright, thank you! You may go!"
"Thank you, Alpha Gerald!"
"Hmm!" Gerald pulled out a chair and sat next to Alex. Gerald took Alex's hand and held it gently.
"Don't worry, Alex! Daddy will take care of you..."
While still holding Alex's hand, he soon fell asleep...
"
Jennifer walked with a slight frown and annoyance. After returning from various examinations that made her head spin even more. Jennifer thought her examination would be simple, but it wasn't!
For almost an hour, she was forced to undergo a series of examinations until it was finally over.
"Damn, Gerald! If it weren't for him helping me and my child, I wouldn't have agreed to be examined! Am I sick or something? He’s the one who should get his brain checked! Not me!” Jennifer kept muttering all the way to her child’s room.
“Gerald… You…!” Jennifer was ready to explode, but when she saw the scene in front of her, her heart was touched and warmed.
She covered her mouth with both hands, unable to believe it.
