Chapter 76

LOGAN.

“Isn't it beautiful?” I stared at the customized diamond-encrusted tennis bracelet in the jewelry box.

“It is, Logan. It is,” Oliver remarked beside me while I ran the tip of my fingers across the bracelet.

“Do you think Amy’s going to love it?” I asked anxiously and Oliver laughed.

“She’s going to melt!”

“Indeed, Mr. Logan,” Calvin, my custom jeweler, pitched in with so much joy. “It is love at first sight. I assure you, she’s going to adore it. It perfectly expresses your eternal love for her.”

I grinned and then closed the jewelry box. “Thank you, Calvin. As usual, you don't disappoint.”

“It’s my greatest honor, sir,” he chuckled. “You normally don't do bracelets but our dear Luna is really special for you, I had to put in my best”

“She is, she really is.” my smile deepened. “I should take my leave now, I have something urgent to deal with.” I hurriedly left my chair while Oliver followed suit.

“Then let me escort you then,” he responded, about leaving his swivel.

“No, it's fine. We don't want to bother you,” Oliver replied.

“Bother? My biggest customers are definitely not that way.”

Oliver and I laughed.

“We’ll meet some other time, Calvin,” I said before easing out of his office.

“You lied back there, there’s nothing urgent to deal with,” Oliver said as we entered the elevator.

“I didn't. I just can't wait to see the bracelet on Amy," I replied and he chuckled.

“I’m really happy for you man. It's been years since I last saw this kind of joy in you.”

“I never thought I would be this happy in my life again. The moon goddess loves me huh.”

The elevator door pinged open and threaded outside where our red Ferrari was parked.

“You’re driving!” I tossed him the key and he frowned.

“I drove us all the way here and you promised to drive back home!”

“Too bad, I'm your Alpha King after all.” I grinned and trailed to the other side.

“I hate you,” he hissed. I laughed. “I know you hate long drives and all but you better get used to it. What happens when you and Amy have to go somewhere?”

I smirked. “I’ll never get tired of driving Amy anywhere even if it’s to the end of the world.”

“Uh-huh.” He rolled his eyes and sauntered into the car.

“Drive carefully, it's a Ferrari,” I taunted and he glared at me as if he wanted to eat me up. He owned five of them in his house. As he jeered the car to life, he pressed the pedal causing the car’s tire to skid before zooming off.

“I hate you!!”

He laughed and then gradually drove the car to a normal pace.

“This is the time I miss David, man. He was such a perfect driver,” I mumbled, smiling at the jewelry box in my hands.

“We all miss him. If anyone had told me he was the son of Hayes, I would have taken it as a hard joke.”

“No doubt. He’s the complete opposite of his father," I exhaled deeply.

“How’s his relationship with Amy now?”

“It's been over a month now but both of them are still trying to find their dynamics. It's still a bit surprising for Amy that she has to see her driver as her elder brother but they’re getting the hang of it though.”

“He’s going to be around for your wedding right?”

“Of course, no matter how busy he might be with the renovation ongoing at Silver Rose, he should be able to make it.”

“Oh man, it feels so good finally getting hitched to your woman in a few days. It has been a long ride for both of you.”

I looked outside recapping most of my moments with Amy. I thought I was going to lose her to Hayes.

“You were right, you know. Taking time off work has been really helpful. I’ve realized how much I missed being a father in my children’s life. Sarah loves me that much to have put up with my shitty attitude in the past years.”

“It takes me back to the times you missed Aubrey’s birthday parties.”

He sighed. “Sarah almost ripped me apart back then!” We both laughed.

“You have your flaws but you always find ways to correct them. That alone makes you a great father.”

“Oh please, wait till Sarah roasts me as usual.”

I chuckled.

“And you, I think you would make a great father someday.”

My smile gradually faded. “What makes you think so? I was a shitty mate to Amy once. Sometimes I fear I might mess it all up by mistake.”

“Nah.” He shook his head. “I think you’ve learned quite a valuable lesson this time and you would do everything within your power not to blow this chance away. Besides, even if you turn out to be a shitty father, you’ve got Amy, your mother, Sarah and of course me.”

“Oh please, I'll do just fine raising my kid!”

He beamed. I leaned my head against the headrest and closed my eyes in hopes to have one of those sweet dreams till we got to the Pack. When we arrived at the Pack, the night had sunk in. I sauntered into the building and easily sensed her upstairs. I headed to the studio and there she was in nothing but my white shirt that was oversized on her by the way. She was seated on the stool with her hair packed in a messy bun admiring one of my paintings.

“Hey,” she beamed. I gulped down my saliva trying to calm the urge to be in between her legs.

“Hey,” I mumbled as I came close to kiss her.

“Where were you all day? I missed you.” Her voice trailed a whispery path as our lips partly separated.

“Really? I thought you had fun without me.”

“I tried calling, but apparently your phone was dead.”

I hummed and pulled out the jewelry box in my pocket. Her breaths ceased as her heartbeat began to rise.

“Logan,” she called while I took her right hand. I opened the box and her eyes widened in surprise. “My goodness, Logan!” she beamed with tears filling her gray eyes. Oliver and Calvin were right, she loved it. And with pride, I wore the bracelet around her wrist.

“It's even prettier than I imagined it would look on you,” I mumbled.

“I love it!” She ran the tip of her finger across the diamonds. “I really do,” she whispered and sealed my lips with a deep kiss. My arms curled around her waist while her legs parted for me to close the gap between us further. Her scent basked around me even more and the sparks jostling inside me wanted more of her.

“Logie,” she whispered as she separated from me but her smile was now replaced with a worried look. “There’s something you need to know…”

My brows arched into a slight frown.

“Did you know that Charlotte was pregnant?”

I gulped down my saliva as memories of her briefly toured my head. It did hurt but I felt regret more.

“My father told me,” she mumbled with so much worry blaring in her voice.

I sighed. “Charlotte never got to tell me. If only I had been there for her…”

She lifted my right hand and placed my palm on her belly. Faint tears hinted in her eyes. “Will you be there for us?” she whispered.

I sported a quizzical look for a while before it finally dawned on me.

“Amy…you’re pregnant.”

She nodded.

Tears filled my eyes and I embraced her like she was my life source without thinking. “I will. I swear on my life to always protect you, our child. This time, I'll be there.”
