Chapter 232 – The Soul Reviver
Chapter 232 – The Soul Reviver
Liora
I run through the corridors... wanting to meet father. My heart full of hope.
After so long in that deep, cursed sleep, Alpha Blayze had opened his eyes again.
I burst into the room wotb Aurelie following me
Then I saw him. He was weak, pale, but alive, sitting up on the bed, tears filled my eyes as my heart almost burst from happiness.
Aurelie screamed seeing him finally awake. Keal was beside him. Holding his hand but I saw his hands shaking.
But I —
I just stood there, frozen, tears sliding dowm my cheek, afraid it was another cruel dream.
“Father…” I called, my voice cracking.
He turned slowly, his gaze cloudy, still waking between life and death. But when his eyes met mine, they softened.
“Liora,” he whispered, voice rough, dry. “You’re pale… what happened my little moon.”
The sound of his voice was like i missed.
I rushed to him, dropping beside the bed, my hands shaking as I touched his arm. His skin was warm. Real.
And I couldn’t stop crying.
“Don’t cry,” he murmured, his weak smile trembling. “The moon answered your prayers.”
I wanted to believe that. Maybe she did.
But deep down, I couldn’t stop thinking ... if the goddess heard me once… maybe she’ll hear me again.
Maybe she’ll bring Lucian back too.
Father’s turned around and frowned his face.
Definitely searching for mother.
He always had that frown when looking for her. It was the same the night she was murdered. The night Keal was crown.
When he couldn’t found her
“Elara…” he said, voice trembling. “Where’s your mother?”
His words were bomb. Silence filled the room. I couldn’t met his gaze.
Keal’s shoulders tensed. Aurelie gasped, and covered her mouth, tears already falling.
“She’s gone,” I gulped hard. “Did you forgot. She was murdered on coronation day which made you went into coma because of the bind severed."
He furrowed his eyes rubbing his forehead. Remembering. His eyes darkened, imI can see thr grief in them.
For a long moment, he didn’t speak. His chest rose and fell slowly, his hand clutching the bedsheet as if holding onto the memory of her.
Then his lips parted, voice trembling. “Elara… my mate, my moonlight…”
He broke down.
Seeing him like that, a man who once ruled kingdom and packs, now trembling and frail ... it tore something in me.
He had carried strength his whole life. But love… love was his undoing.
Maybe it runs in our blood.
We showed him Mother’s body later that day the way she preserved herselfwith frost, peaceful, as if she was only sleeping.
He fell to his knees beside her, pressed his forehead against hers, and whispered words too soft to hear.
Aurelie and Keal knelt behind him. I stood a few steps back, clutching my chest.
My heart felt split between two graves... my mother’s and Lucian’s.
When Father finally spoke again, his voice was steady, broken yet full of love.
“She deserves a resting place beneath the moon,” he said. “Let her soul rise where she once prayed.”
We all agreed.
We would bury her under the Silvermoon tree in the moon garden, the same place where she used to sing lullabies to us as children.
....
That night, Silvermoon held a feast in honor of his return.
The dining hall glowed with candles and laughter, though mine never reached my lips.
Keal and Aurelie sat near Father, feeding him small bites of stew.
Zane was there too, fully recovered, his eyes bright again. He had waken up same time as father.
Cynthia wouldn’t leave his side, her laughter spilling softly as she leaned into him. It was strange seeing happiness again after months of death.
And yet, sitting among them, I felt like I didn’t belong to this world anymore.
Not without him. I felt empty.
Every time I looked at the moon through the window, I felt that pull again, faint, cold, like Lucian’s hand brushing against my soul.
Was it my imagination? Or was he truly calling from beyond the veil?
Snowfall stirred in me, restless. He’s near, she whispered. Can’t you feel it?
My heart skipped. You feel it too?
Her voice trembled like a growl and a sob. I can smell him... faint, like burning frost.
I froze. As I smell the same scent Lucian carried whenever he was around.
“Snowfall…” I whispered softly, my breath shaking. “If it’s true… if he’s really here…”
Then we’ll find him, she said, her tone fierce.
...
The next morning, I went to Eira.
The healers roo smelled of lavender and medicine.
She was arranging herbs when I entered, her silver eyes lifting immediately. “Liora,” she greeted gently. “You look… troubled.”
“I saw him,” I blurted out. “I mean, I heard him. In my dream I heard his voice, felt his warmth...it felt soo real, Eira. Not like before.”
Eira’s paused. She set the herbs aside and walked toward me, her white hair dangling. “Dreams of the dead are often echoes of longing,” she said carefully. “Sometimes they come when our hearts refuse to let go.”
I shook my head fiercely. “No, it wasn’t just longing. I felt his scent, his presence. It wasn’t gone.”
“Liora…” her tone softened, but there was something in her eyes ... concern, maybe fear. “You’re grieving. Grief can twist the bond between mates, even when one has passed.”
Snowfall snarled inside me, She doesn’t understand. He’s not gone.
Eira sighed quietly. “Still… if you truly believe, I can search the archives. The old pack scrolls speak of the ‘veil of echoes’ ... where souls linger between realms. But it’s forbidden magic.”
“I don’t care if it’s forbidden,” I said. “If there’s even a chance… I’ll do anything.”
She studied me for a moment, then nodded slowly. “Then meet me by nightfall.”
By the time I returned home, my siblings were in the training yard with Father.
He was still weak but already trying to stand on his own.
The sound of his voice, steady though rough, filled the training ground. “The curse divided us,” he said, gripping his cane tightly. “But now, we heal. Together.”
Aurelie smiled faintly. “We thought we’d lost you.”
“And you would have,” he said softly, looking at her with fatherly pride. “If not for your sister mate.”
Lucian.
Even his name bring ache to my heart.
I looked away, unable to breathe for a second.
Father didn’t know everything yet... he was just told little and he felt blessed.
How could I tell him that the man who saved him was also the one he once called a monster?
So I stayed silent.
...
Later that night, I met Eira in the moon garden.
The sky was cloudy, the moon pale behind thin mist.
She looked tired. Strained, her hands trembled holding a small book bound in dark leather.
“There’s one record,” she said quietly. “One… that speaks of a soul revived through shadow magic. Its called the Soul Reviver ”
My breath caught. “Revived?”
“Yes,” she said. “But it came with a curse. The bond between the living and the dead must be exchanged ... one heart for another. If you bring him back… someone else must die in return.”
My heart pounded. “What kind of curse?”
Her fingers brushed the page carefully. “The revived soul doesn’t come back whole. They return changed, they are bound to the darkness that brought them. If they are not anchored by pure love… they fade, or worse... return.”
I stared at the page, glowing faintly silver under the moonlight. The letters shimmered, alive, ancient. Then, as I blinked... the ink began to turn red.
The words twisted across the page, forming new ones ...
What the Actual Hell!
"To call the dead from shadow, offer the light of your heart ... one breath, one bond, one soul."
My breath hitched. My fingers trembled as I reached out to touch it. The parchment felt cold, pulsing faintly under my skin.
“Liora,” Eira warned, stepping forward. “Don’t touch..!”
But it was too late. The words flared brighter, burning into my mind like fire.
Snowfall gasped inside me. The moon help us… he’s calling you.
I staggered back, the scent of burning frost filling the air again ... strong, alive. My heartbeat thundered in my ears.
“Lucian…” I whispered, tears welling. “Are you… are you there?”
A cold wind swept through the garden, snuffing out the candles.
Eira’s eyes widened in fear as the pages fluttered violently, glowing like embers.
Then I heard it again.
Soft, broken. Faint as a dying flame.
“Liora…”
The voice was unmistakable. His voice.
My vision blurred. My heart stopped. I clutched the page to my chest, whispering, “Lucian, I’m here!”
But all that answered me was silence.
And then ... a single silver leaf fell from the air, landing on my palm. Warm. Glowing faintly with moonlight.
I stared at it, trembling.
Eira’s voice was barely a whisper. “The veil… it’s opening.”
I looked at the glowing page one last time... the red ink twisting, the scent of blood filling the air again.
And deep inside me, Snowfall’s voice trembled with awe and fear.
He’s not gone, Liora… he’s coming back.
