Chapter 224 – The Silver Wolf full Powers
Chapter 224 – The Silver Wolf full Powers
Liora
“You brought me exactly what I needed,” Marcus said softly making me gasped.
So it was his plan alone. Lucian has been a pawn till the end.
But we'll not let him have what he wanted.
Because we're going to kill him today. Even if it cause my life.
Eira walled to me with a small vial in her hand. Her hands were steady but her eyes were tired and bright. “Drink,” she said. “This will bring back what Marcus burned out. It will give you strength, but it will cost you. You must know that.” she uttered.
I stared at the liquid. It was clear but glittered faintly like frost in moonlight. The scent was sharp. Strong and something older.
“This is strong,” Snowfall said. “It will stir your blood. But restore your strength.”
“That’sperfect.” My voice came out small. “Because we're going all out to finish him. We either. Kill him now, or wait and watch Silvermoon byrnt to ash.”
Eira’s face softened. “You remember what yoyr mother wrote in the diary right. How to use the silver wolf full powers in her journal. This potion will awaken what she called the Silver Wolf fully. It will let you sweep the sky and bend frost like you bend your breath. But after, you will be empty. Days. Maybe more.”
Snowfall’s growl was low and fierce. “Eira has helped. She gave you everything. Now summon your powers as your mother teach you. But be ready to fall afterwards.”
I raised the vial and drank it. It was cold, cold enough to make me shiver.
At first, nothing. I close my eyes concentrating. Then... I saw light. My breath came hot and sharp. I could feel veins of silver passed through my skin. The mate mark on my neck flared bright and then... steadied.
“Good,” Eira whispered. She pressed a cool hand to my forehead, her palm steady. “Now go. Finish him.”
I inhaled deep as the everything sharpened around me.
I could hear Keal’s heavy breath, Lucian’s labored breaths, the crackle of the dark flame Marcus kept alive. I could hear Marcus’s voice mocking from the center of the ruined ring, low and smooth as oil.
“You think you can take what I made?” he called. His words echoed. “You’re too weak wolf to undo what I have started?”
Keal stood in front of me supporting me to the very end. He put his hand on my shoulder. “We end him,” he said quietly. “Together.”
I rub my fingers around his. His skin felt warm. For a moment I let that warmth hold me. Snowfall pressed close, a steady heartbeat inside my ribs.
“Listen to me,” Snowfall breathed. “Breathe with me. Let the cold fill you. Let the sky answer. You can control the weather. ”
Lucian fought with Marcus. But Marcus is too strong for him alone. I saw Marcus’s rune threads lash at him, trying to pull him back into the pit of control. But Lucian trying hard to deny it as he fight him.
I stepped forward. Frost curled from my fingers. The air around me turned cold. My breath came in white clouds. When I lifted my hands, the world around me answered.
A wind ran up the sanctuary, first soft, then a roar. Tiny spears of ice formed and hung in the air, trembling like held breath.
Marcus laughed, as be saw my powers. “You think you were born to be a storm? You are only a child playing with snow.”
His words hurt but I didn’t stop. I remembered what I read in my mother’s journal. Saying not to waste power on anger but to bend it to shape. She had explained how to call weather to a silver wolf, how to take the cold of the moon and focus it into a weapon.
Snowfall roared now, a sound that filled my head and pushed backward the pain. “Now, Liora. Now!” she cried.
I reached low, drawing on everything I trained. And frost grew under my nails like crystal. Sky and stone trembled. My limbs hummed as if strings had been tuned to the note of the moon.
Lucian strike at Marcus as he u
Said the words.
"Dont talk to her like that." his claws cutting the air. The rune threads slapped his skin, but he pressed on, bearing it.
Marcus changed his chant, hands weaving, trying to draw the ritual to completion. He kept one eye on me...on my hands, on the frost as i strike him as he dodge them.
Keal entered in between them, slamming shoulder-first into Marcus’s flank. He took a strike meant for Lucian. Blood spur from his back but Keal's didn't stop. “Do not...” he barked through a grin of grit. “Do not let him control you.”
Marcus’s eyes burned hard. He spat words that made my skin crawl. “You think you can stop me with this? I will take the wolf and make it mine. Your powers will make me stronger, poor child.”
Lucian was close now. He slashed, a white blur. Marcus reeled, the rune threads snapping. I felt the pull of the ritual strain, like hands on my ribs, trying to pry the silver from my heart. It pains alot.
“Hold,” Eira shouted from the edge. “Hold! Don't let the weave re-form!”
Frost spur out of my palms. It ran across the ground, across Lucian, across Keal. The runes shrieked as the frost met them. Marcus stumbled for the furst time.
“Now!” I screamed. The frost became a spear, a whole storm pressed into the line of my arm. It leaped, blue-white and sharp, and struck Marcus full in his chest.
He fell to his knees as blood spread all over his shirt, and as he looked up at us, he continued laughing even through he is bleeding.
“You putting me down,” he said, breath ragged and wide-eyed. “You… you are fools.”
Keal stepped forward. His claws found him as he strike. Marcus's laugh splintered into a sound that was almost a sob. He went still.
Silence. The dark magic was weak as the runes died one by one, leaving only cold stone and the heavy scent of iron, blood and snow.
We stood around Marcus's broken body. Keal's chest heaved. My fingers shook. Lucian was on his knees, his fingers covered in the his blood. He looked at the man he had called uncle, but was actually his dad. He turned to me. His face carried pain and something like relief.
Marcus's mouth moved. Even dying, even when soaked with blood, he smile wickedly. “You think killing me ends it?” he said, barely louder than a whisper. “No. You are fools. Because it is already in your blood, Liora. The curse lives in you. The Silver Wolf will die. Elara’s bloodline will end ... soon.”
His laughter spilled again, low and cruel, before it was snuffed. His eyes clouded. And he died.
What dies he means?
The words ringing in my head.
The bond mark on my neck had gone dim, but I feel something hummed deep inside me it's small but has a terrible echo.
Snowfall snuggled as she sniffed. “Listen,” she whispered, her voice small. “We won the fight. But we may not have won what matters.”
I swallowed. The victory didn't felt worth it.
"What does he means by that?" I questioned nothing exactly.
Keal's hand find mine. “We find a way,” he said. “We will not let your blood be the end. Not if I can breathe.”
Lucian eyes met mine, I could not read him. His looked deeply in grief, and something like apology. He tried to stand but sagged down, the fading curse still heavy on him.
Eira moved close, voice steady but very tired. “Marcus died but,” she said. “He already called the curse. And it would affect you if care is not taken."
The wind felt cold but Snowfall nuzzled I'm me. I looked down at my hands and the glittering frost that clung like a second skin.
I used the Silver Wolf full power. I know there's a cost. Bjt atleast I killed a man who had killed my mother.
Bjt Marcus’s last words echoed in my head. “The curse is already in your blood.”
I closed my eyes. The cold in my chest was not from frost alone. It was fear.
“Then we fight it,” I whispered into the smoke, to Keal, to Lucian, to Snowfall. “We find a way. We make a way.”
