Chapter 27

Valerie’s pov.

During the lunch break, I found myself sitting in a private booth at our favorite cafe, anxiously waiting for Oliver. As I scrolled through the options my mother and Mrs. Martinez had presented to me, I knew exactly which one they favored. Nevertheless, they gave me the illusion of choice. I picked the one they had their eyes on and set my phone down when I spotted Oliver approaching.

There was something about his demeanor that made me feel like this lunch date was about more than just casual conversation. A sense of nervousness settled in as I anticipated what he might have to tell me. It could be anything, and the uncertainty made my heart race.

"Hey you," Oliver leaned over and planted a gentle kiss on my cheek before taking a seat across from me.

"Hello, Oliver," I greeted him with a smile, observing as he glanced around for a moment. It was clear he had something on his mind. Finally, his eyes met mine, and he managed a brief smile.

"Is everything okay?" I asked.

"Yes, Val, I just... I'm trying to figure out how to tell you this," Oliver began, his eyes fixed on his hands resting on the table.

"That sentence worries me," I admitted. Falling for Oliver went against all the warnings, but I couldn't help my feelings for him. So when he said things like that, it made me even more anxious.

"It's... you know how you once asked me why my father acted the way he did towards me?" Oliver continued, and I felt my heartbeat return to normal as my nerves settled. So, this lunch was about that.

"Yeah? Is that what this lunch is for?"

"I want to tell you the truth, Val," Oliver said, taking my hand in his.

"Take your time, Oliver," I reassured him. I just hoped it wouldn't take forever, considering his hesitation. This seemed like it could be a big deal.

"You need to know, it wasn't always like this," Oliver began, and his words reminded me of the start of those stories where people tried to defend those who treated them poorly. "It was clear since I was a preteen that I would take over the business, and I was okay with that. My father was a bit strict, but overall, it was to make me great and surpass him and my Abuelo," he explained, and I nodded in understanding.

"Okay?" I hummed.

"Everything was going fine until I met Eden," Oliver admitted, avoiding my gaze. The mention of Eden made me tense.

"Eden Montgomery?" I double-checked, although I suspected there was only one Eden he could be referring to.

"Yeah, that Eden," he sighed, shaking his head as if haunted by bitter memories. "I met her while I was still finishing my studies, and I fell for her, hard. I mean, I was crazy about her and would've never imagined that she would cheat on me. It shattered me when she did cheat– countless times and I couldn’t process that, and it was during a stressful time with so many deadlines, and my father allowed me to manage some of the estates we rent out. I couldn't handle everything at once and started drinking—always drinking," Oliver spoke carefully, and with each word, I became more intrigued.

"Oh, Oliver, I'm so sorry," I whispered. I couldn't fathom what he was like back then, but the Oliver I knew now, I couldn't imagine him cheating on anyone.

"It's fine... I couldn't stop. It happened so quickly, but breaking free from the grip of alcohol was difficult for me. I barely passed my classes, and managing the estates poorly resulted in my father's disappointment. That's why he's so stern and watches everything so closely. I'm still trying to gain his trust back, I think," Oliver shared, and my heart sank a little. The hunger for success that drove him was all because he wanted to earn his father's approval.

"I'm sorry you went through that. But I'm proud of how far you've come. I've seen the work you've done, and deep down, I believe he must be proud of you too," I reassured him, bringing the back of his hand to my lips.

"Thank you, Val." Oliver smiled briefly.

"Why did you tell me this?" I wondered, knowing it couldn't have been easy for him to open up about it.

"Because you deserve to know, and in case someone tries to dig up my past to make you hate me," he joked, but there was truth in his words.

"I could never hate you," I winked. "Is there any chance we can go home? I'd love to have your special BLT sandwich," I admitted, my stomach growling at the thought.

"Oh, speaking of it, I got new condiments, so it might just become even better than it already is," Oliver grinned. I had once complimented his cooking, and since then, he made it his mission to ensure I enjoyed every meal he prepared for me.

"What are we waiting for?" I grabbed my phone and purse.

We felt a bit guilty for not ordering anything at the cafe, so Oliver left a tip behind, and we headed home. Neither of us had any pressing meetings after lunch, so it was the perfect time to spend together. During the drive, I couldn't help but admire Oliver. I felt proud of the person he had become.

When we arrived at the house, he helped me out of the car and led the way inside. There was something irresistible about Oliver that made it hard for me to keep my hands to myself. I tried to act normal, but the attraction was too strong. When he asked me if I was okay, I couldn't resist trailing my hand up to the lapel of his jacket before pulling him down for a long, deep kiss.

“Val, baby, I thought we came home for BLT sandwiches,” Oliver whispered between kisses, his hands finding my waist.

“The choice is yours, Mr. Martinez,” I looked up at him with a smirk. After hearing the last part every bit of his last self-control was lost.

“Fuck,” he whispered and shrugged off his jacket. His hands slipped to the zipper of my dress as he pulled me flush against him. He kissed me roughly as his fingers tugged the zipper down. He brushed his fingers up my back, snapping the bra and leaving very little time to waste.

I removed my dress further as he toed his shoes and socks off in a swift movement then leaned down to pick me up hastily, making me giggle.

“Oliver! My shoes,” I said as he pressed me down onto the extended part of the couch.

“They’re staying on, Valerie.” Oliver smirked, trailing his hands up my calves, his eyes focused on the red bottoms I choose to wear today. I leaned over and made quick work of his buttons, helping him remove the shirt that was keeping me from my favorite view.

Feather touches came from my inner thighs all the way to my navel, his fingers slowly dipping under my panties as he leaned over and smiled as those lust-filled eyes looked into mine.

“Tell me what you want, fiancee,” he said in a husky tone as his fingers parted my folds.

“I want you,” I whispered, trailing my hands up his bare arms, feeling his muscles under my touch.

“Not enough, tell me more,” he replied and plunged two fingers into me without hesitation, and for once he wasn’t teasing me with it, instead he moved at the pace I preferred and knew just when to curl his fingers.

It took me a few seconds to finally open my mouth as I lifted my hips to meet with his fingers, “I want– Fuck, Oliver.” I took a deep breath and looked him in the eyes, “I want you to fuck my brains out.”

I needed that more than anything right now. This wasn’t my initial dinner plan but it would do just fine.

“Just my cock, baby, is that all you want?” Oliver wondered, pressing his thumb against my clit.

“Yes Oliver, please,” I whined, grinding against his hand until he pulled them away. Now I settled on the big prize that was restrained in those black slacks that did very little to hide his erection.

“Your wish is my command, my love.” He smirked, bringing his soaked fingers to his lips and humming at the taste. I felt my heart skipping a beat, was there anything not perfect about this man? “You taste so good, I wish I could eat you out all day.” Oliver let out a sexy groan that managed to turn me on even more than I initially was.

Oliver got up and I watched as he undid his belt and then followed the button and zipper finally he pulled his pants down and I saw his erection jumping up, sleek and just as eager for me as I am for him. He pumped himself and groaned as he leaned over and tugged my panties off, leaving nothing between us. His large hands settled on my thighs, parting them before pulling me closer to him.

Those green eyes were filled with lust and passion as he placed my legs over his shoulders. He slowly entered me and started pounding into me, building up his tempo and no doubt had us both moaning.

With the strokes of his hands on my thighs, the sweet little moans escaping his lips and the delicious pace he was going at, it hadn’t taken me much longer to come for him. It was safe to say that this man took away my breath.

A few short moments later, Oliver continued to thrust into me, his hands digging into my thighs harder as his head tipped back and finally the sweet moan of my name filled the air. He twitched within me as he became undone and finally built down his tempo.

Oliver gently removed my legs from his shoulders and leaned over to kiss me, “I love you, Valerie.”

“I love you too, Oliver.” I smiled, running my fingers through his hair then deepened the kiss.

“Okay I’d love to stay here and cuddle all day but we both have jobs to get to,” Oliver sighed and got up, he took my legs and placed them on his lap. “After a quick shower, I’ll make you those BLT sandwiches, unless that was a ruse for you to get in a quickie,” he said teasingly as he helped remove the heels.

“If I wanted a quickie, I would’ve just visited you at the office Mr. Martinez, trust me, I came here for the sandwich.” I sat up and leaned over to kiss his cheek.

“Come on, let’s get you cleaned up,” he chuckled and picked me up to carry to the bathroom. As I said, this man was perfect and perhaps a little too perfect.
