Chapter 199
“My meeting is cancelled.”
He grinned, showing me his teeth. I looked at him with narrowed eyes. Why did it look like he cancelled the meeting? I had doubts about it. If his meeting was cancelled, why is he back here? He should go and work in the office.
“Then go and do other work," I said in a stern tone, knowing very well he was back here with a plan. He wanted to be around me all day and then take me back home in the evening. Before I could close the door, he put his foot in the door, stopping it.
“Azel, go back to the office,” I said sternly, but he refused to do it. I tried to push the door, but my strength was nothing in front of him. I was pushing the door with both hands, and he was holding the door with only one hand.
“No,” he said in a firm tone stubbornly while looking straight into my narrowed eyes. I glared at him because he was behaving like me.
“What is going on here?” We both heard our dad's firm voice from behind us. I stopped pushing the door and turned my head to look at Dad. Dad was standing with both hands on his hips with a slight look of confusion on his face. Taking advantage, Azel pushed the door and walked inside the house.
“Azel, you didn't go to the office? Did you forget something?” Dad asked Hole, still looking at him with raised brows.
“Clients cancelled the meeting," he said with a grin on his face, and I looked at him with narrowed eyes.
“It doesn't mean you should not go to the office then. Don't you have other work to do?” I asked sternly while looking at him. He turned his face to me and gave a closed-lip grin.
“My schedule is free today, so I decided to join you guys in baking. I will also learn one or two things today about baking,” he said sweetly while looking at my dad. Dad smiled when he said that. Dad loves baking, but he loves even more to teach baking. He is always happy to get new students. Azel knew how to convince my dad. He is a cunning fox in man's clothes.
“It's great; come; I will teach you,” Dad said with a smile. He gestured with his hand to come inside. Azel smirked at me when Dad invited him in. I felt annoyed looking at his smirk. Dad walked back to the kitchen, and I was following him when suddenly he held my wrist, and before I knew it, he pinned me to the wall. My eyes widened when he did that. He smirked, looking at me, and before I could react, he kissed my whole face, making a loud sound, and, in the end, pecked my lips with a loud smooching sound. My eyes reamied wide when he did that. Doing that, he let go of my hands. He kissed the tip of my nose before walking away. I kept standing there with a surprised face. My eyes widened when I came back to my senses. He did that to distract me. My eyes narrowed even more. I stomped to the kitchen only to find my dad telling him about the basics of baking.
“This is all-purpose flour. This is brown sugar and baking soda.” Dad was telling him about dry ingredients. He was listening to everything like an obedient student. Only I know how much of the devil is hiding behind that innocent face. I decided to ignore him and continued doing so before he rang the doorbell.
“So we should mix the dry ingredients first?” I heard him asking Dad while looking at him with his innocent amber eyes. He takes all my dad's time. We were going to spend time together, but it looks like my dad is spending his time with him. Our dad and daughter's bonding was ruined by none other than my husband. I sucked while mixing all the dry ingredients in the bowl. I'm going to make cookies for everyone, but I'm going to put lots of salt in Azel's cookies. I bit on my lower lip and started to strain all the almond flour in the bowl. I could feel his eyes on me, but I ignored them. I put all the ingredients in and then started to make balls of it. I placed them perfectly on the baking tray and then sprinkled chocolate chips on it. I had already pre-heated the oven, so the cookies were ready to go in the oven.
“Yeah, mixed in one direction so we don't get a lump," I heard my dad telling him, making me sulk even more. I opened it and then slid the tray. Now I have to wait until they get baked. I decided to clean my side of the kitchen counter until then. Dad was telling him a step-by-step procedure. He was not paying any attention to me. I decided to walk out of the kitchen when suddenly Dad's cell phone started to ring.
“Luna, why don't you instruct Azel? I will come back after attending the call,” Dad said while already picking up the call. I didn't even get time to refuse. I exhaled in irrigation because I had no other choice. I stood far away from him without telling him anything. He looked at me, and I averted my eyes from him. He took hold of my hand and pulled me to him. I tried to walk out, but he held me in between his arms.
“What are you doing? Let me go.” I said, still looking away from him.
"Never," he said sternly, and I don't know why, but my heart skipped a beat.
“Dad will walk in anytime," I said, trying ways to push him away, but he held my hands and then on either side of the kitchen counter.
“Let him see," he said, and my eyes widened.
“I have all the rights to hold you,” he said, looking straight into my eyes. My heart started to beat fast. His face now was only an inch away from mine.
“After I'm your lawfully wedded husband.”
