Chapter 292 Meeting His Family
Chapter 292 Meeting His Family
Serena Sinclair's POV:
His words ignited something primal within me, making me push back to meet each thrust. The sound of skin against skin filled the room, mingling with our heavy breathing and my increasingly loud moans.
When he reached around to stroke between my legs, I nearly sobbed with the overwhelming sensation. It took embarrassingly little time before I was clenching around him again, my third orgasm of the night washing over me in waves that seemed endless.
He followed shortly after, collapsing beside me only to pull me against his chest, his arms wrapping possessively around my waist. But even then, as the night deepened, our rest was brief. Time and again, his hands would wander, or my lips would find his skin, and we'd begin anew, exploring each other's bodies with an insatiable hunger.
As the night deepened, my pleas and moans intertwined, reverberating through every corner of the penthouse. And Phillip, that usually composed and distant man, revealed a wild side only I was privileged to witness—a side that whispered filthy promises in my ear, that left marks on my skin, that seemed determined to claim every inch of me in ways I would feel tomorrow.
Later, he pulled me tightly into his arms, our bodies still tangled together. I lay in his strong embrace, feeling lightheaded and drained, too exhausted to even move a finger.
"Set an alarm," I mumbled, my voice hoarse from exertion.
Phillip kissed the top of my head, his voice lazy with satisfaction. "I will. Don't worry, just sleep."
Reassured by his promise, I took one last look at his handsome profile before closing my eyes, quickly sinking into deep sleep.
I slept soundly, confident that Phillip would set the alarm as promised.
However, when sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows onto my face, I slowly opened my eyes, immediately startled by the intensity of the light outside. That wasn't morning sunlight—it was too strong.
I sat up abruptly, reaching for my phone on the nightstand. The time displayed on the screen made my eyes widen: 2:17 PM.
"What the hell?!" I cried out, instantly awake. I turned to find Phillip's side of the bed empty. "PHILLIP!"
I threw on a robe and rushed out of the bedroom, finding him calmly drinking coffee and reading the newspaper in the living room. He wore casual loungewear, his hair perfectly styled, clearly having been up for hours.
"Why didn't you wake me?" I demanded, my voice rising with panic. "Weren't we supposed to go to your parents' today?"
My emotions were clearly agitated, my eyes revealing anxiety and distress. Obviously, missing the meeting with the Kingston family made me incredibly nervous—first impressions were crucial, and being late was definitely not a good start.
Phillip wrapped an arm around my shoulders and said, "We still have plenty of time. Don't worry."
I shot him a glare.
He just smiled. "Actually, we're right on schedule."
I shrugged his hand off, climbed out of bed, and walked into the bathroom. Standing in front of the mirror as I washed my face, I noticed the red marks he'd left on my neck. My irritation grew instantly.
He knew perfectly well I was meeting his family today. How was I supposed to face them with these obvious hickeys?
I was furious.
Meanwhile, Phillip leaned casually against the bathroom doorframe, watching me with that infuriating smile of his.
I glared at him through the mirror.
His smile only widened, which annoyed me even more. "Get out," I snapped. "I need to shower."
I slammed the door shut, leaving him on the other side.
I stripped off my rumpled nightgown and stepped under the shower head. The water cascaded down in a soothing rhythm, enveloping the bathroom in steam that blurred my silhouette.
After my shower, I deliberately chose a light gray turtleneck sweater that would hide the marks on my neck. It paired perfectly with the dark coat I'd bought yesterday.
I accessorized with a simple necklace for a touch of elegance.
I dried my hair and pulled it back into a neat updo.
By the time I was ready, it was already four o'clock.
Winter days darkened quickly, and the sky looked ominously overcast, as if night had already fallen. It might snow later.
"Do I look okay?" I asked Phillip.
"You look beautiful," he replied simply.
I took a deep breath. "Let's go then."
Phillip opened the car door for me. "Don't be nervous. I'm with you. No one will give you a hard time."
Despite his reassurance, I still felt uneasy.
Once I was in the car, I was so anxious I forgot to fasten my seatbelt. Phillip leaned over and secured it for me. "My parents aren't monsters, Serena. Don't be afraid."
I shot him an irritated look. "Maybe your parents won't give me a hard time, but what about your sister? Can you guarantee Katherine won't make things difficult for me?"
He'd prepared his parents for my visit, but his sister was another matter entirely.
He started the car. "She won't dare be rude while I'm there."
I laughed. "Well, that's a first. Even you have someone you're intimidated by."
The car moved smoothly along the road.
People on the sidewalks hurried along, probably eager to get home.
I turned to look out the window.
The scenery flashed by in a blur.
Phillip reached over and squeezed my hand reassuringly. "It'll be fine, okay?"
"Okay."
I turned back to him with a small smile.
Halfway there, it suddenly began to pour—a torrential downpour so heavy the windshield wipers could barely keep up.
The road ahead was barely visible.
"Slow down a bit," I urged.
"Mm-hmm," he acknowledged, but maintained his speed.
I frowned at him.
"I want to get you home quickly," he explained.
Thankfully, the Kingston estate was located away from the city's hustle, and there were no other cars on the road.
Our car was the only one speeding along, sending up sprays of water beneath the tires.
Through the rain, I caught a glimpse of the mansion perched on the hillside, and then we came to a stop.
"We're here," Phillip turned to me.
I took another deep breath.
Phillip got out first, opening an umbrella before coming around to my side to open the door.
I stepped out, carrying the gifts from the backseat.
Phillip held the umbrella over us both, his arm around my waist.
I looked up at him.
He looked back at me.
I forced a small smile, trying to bolster my courage.
Then we walked toward the entrance.
A housekeeper spotted us and immediately announced, "Ma'am, ma'am... Mr. Kingston has arrived."
Mrs. Kingston appeared wearing an elegant embroidered jacket with a dark sweater underneath, complemented by a pearl necklace. She looked the epitome of grace.
She approached us.
I greeted her first. "Hello, Mrs. Kingston."
"Welcome to our home," she said with a smile.
