CHAPTER 15. I CAME TO COLLECT YOUR PROMISE
On a night, inside a famous hotel in the city center, a fierce battle creates an aura of suspense involving two mysterious werewolves: Zayn and Jeremy. The hotel that witnessed this epic battle saw parts of the room torn apart, and some unlucky guests witnessed the unexpected ferocity of these two supernatural beings.
Over time, the uproar not only led to a war story between Zayn and Jeremy but also attracted the attention of police officers who soon surrounded the area of the hotel. "Those stupid humans, they can only be bullies," Zayn grumbled, reflecting his frustration with human interference in their affairs.
With speed beyond the human eye, Zayn steadily pulled Jeremy's frail body to a secluded spot, away from the curious eyes of humans. In that hidden place, amidst the silence of the night, the atmosphere became increasingly tense.
"This world is already too hard for you, Jeremy!" shouted Zayn with a furious expression that reflected the half-wolf ferocity that consumed him. Both of his hands held tightly to Jeremy's already severely injured body, and the atmosphere became more and more tense with every breath he exhaled.
The man named Jeremy, with a weak voice that almost sounded lost, tried to explain. "Sorry. I didn't mean to disturb your quarry."
Zayn's mocking smile was evident on his face as he tightened the choke around Jeremy's neck, providing a moment of suspense "I'm not going to take your word for it!" Zayn hissed in a condescending tone.
With a regretful look on his face, Jeremy tried to woo. "Please, Zayn! We're friends, we shouldn't hurt each other." His voice sounded sincere, creating emotional depth in their conflicted encounter.
Slowly but surely, Zayn began to loosen his grip, signaling that doubts were creeping into his mind. "You've got to prove that your words aren't just fluff," Zayn said while keeping his gaze fixed on Jeremy.
Jeremy sensed Zayn's vibe of uncertainty and immediately embraced the opportunity to woo his friend. "I'll prove every word I say, Zayn. We can get through this together."
As Zayn slowly begins to trust Jeremy again, his mood changes. In the darkness of the night, a touch of friendly warmth begins to emerge amongst the violence of the werewolf battle. Zayn, with a more lenient attitude, finally released his grip on Jeremy.
"For once, I'll give you a chance," Zayn said in a firm, yet hopeful tone to his friend he had just faced. "But, just remember, if this happens again, I won't hesitate to take more decisive action. Your life will be at stake."
Jeremy, who was relieved to have his trust back, did not hesitate to express his gratitude. Kneeling at Zayn's feet, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude, creating an emotionally charged moment that stretched between the two supernatural beings.
While the night continues, in a hospital, Sandra is still lying weak in the hospitalization room. James, her father, is willing to leave the glitter of the party to devote his time to caring for his eldest daughter who is going through a difficult time. The sounds of various medical equipment around the room broke the silence with deep, strained tones.
"How is she, is she going to be okay?" asked James anxiously as a nurse approached the ward.
"Don't worry, Mr. James. Sandra only has shock, and minor injuries. We have found no serious illnesses," the nurse explained with a reassuring smile. While observing the heart rate chart and vital monitor, she added, "In a short time, I'm sure she'll regain consciousness."
As James daydreamed about his daughter's condition, the sound of the nurse's light steps and the monitor's heartbeat became the melody of life in the hospitalization room. The wall clock that seemed to move so slowly prolonged the tension in the air.
"Are you sure my daughter will wake up soon?" asked James reassuringly, and was answered with a nod by the nurse. Giving James a little hope. Time was both an ally and an enemy at times like this, and every second felt like a long journey.
Although at first it seemed that James' worries were easing when his daughter Sandra woke up, the relief was soon gone. As if trapped in a never-ending nightmare, Sandra suddenly returned to hysterics, portraying deep fear. Without hesitation, she nimbly jumped off the bed.
Regardless of the pain all over her body, Sandra moved wildly through the infirmary. Her hasty steps made her stagger and she ended up lying on the floor, unable to get back up. Shortness of breath and a racing heartbeat accompanied this tense moment.
"Sandra, you can't move so much!" scolded James in a worried voice when he managed to get close to his hysterical daughter. Roughly, James hugged Sandra and tried to bring her back to the bed. His voice was trying to be soothing, but the woman's eyes still radiated deep fear.
"This place isn't safe, Dad! I have to go home," Sandra urged with a pained face.
James shook his head disapprovingly.
"You can't. You're still recovering. Don't take any chances."
"Come on, Dad, please!" Sandra kept insisting until James finally gave in.
"Alright, you're going home tonight. But, on the condition that you have to go home, not to your apartment." Sandra's eyes widened at the condition, she immediately rejected it.
"No way! There's Sarah and Alex in there. I don't want to live under the same roof as those traitors!" she argued hatefully. James rubbed the top of his eldest girl's head, a triumphant smile spread across his no longer young face. He had finally managed to silence his stubborn daughter.
"If you don't want to, you can stay here. I'll take care of you."
Sandra didn't move, with that difficult choice. She bent over weakly and lay down on the bed.
Two days later, Sandra was allowed to go home by the hospital. The woman felt better than ever, especially since the terrible incident the other day, her father had ordered several bodyguards to protect her.
"Dad has added some very reliable bodyguards to take care of you. You don't have to worry anymore now," James said when they had just arrived at his daughter's apartment.
"I hope so," Sandra replied hesitantly, remembering that the danger that was stalking her at the moment was a supernatural creature. No matter how great the person is, it will be very difficult to face the threat of werewolves.
Being too busy with her thoughts, Sandra did not realize that she had stepped in the wrong direction, even bumping into someone.
"Sandra, watch out!" James' shout sounded faintly in the brown-clad woman's ears. She could no longer dodge as her body crashed into the broad chest of a young pia. Sandra was almost thrown backward if only the burly hands had been too late to wrap around her waist.
"That was close."
Sandra slowly opened her eyes when she felt familiar with the owner of the baritone voice.
"You!" Sandra stared at the man who had saved her from danger.
"How are you? I came to collect your promise."
