Chapter 96 Daydream
Chapter 96 Daydream
Onyx.
I had a secret, and it burdened me every day. It got heavier as the seconds passed.
My phone buzzed after Monroe stood, thinking about who must have gotten her all those things.
I knew who, but after I saw her enraged in the bar back home, I knew something had happened between the two.
Worse, she began to forget him.
I kept wondering if she was pretending to toss him to the back of her mind or if she had really forgotten him.
But the latter was almost impossible.
I had my own problems.
Anytime I saw her smile and be all free with me, telling me almost all that goes on in her life, I felt like a cheat.
I stared at the message in my phone. Wishing it was different.
Wishing the situation was not as it was.
‘I got the bag you asked for. Wasn't easy. You owe me a kiss.’
I stared at the message longer than I should.
Fuck. I wanted to say it aloud, but that would make her worry and eventually the secret would be out.
But how long was I going to be able to hold on to the secret?
How did it all start?
Was it the day we played truth or dare at the theatre?
Or was it the day of his birthday party?
Or was it earlier?
It was definitely earlier.
I’d had a crush on him since high school, after I fell down the stairs and he picked me up effortlessly, puffing his chest and calling himself my big brother.
Monroe had laughed. Yet that was when this ungodly feeling in me started.
I loved him from the sidelines until one day I decided to tell him how I felt.
I believed the worst he could do was say no.
The day was cold like my fingers when Monroe's mom offered for me to stay in the guest room for the night.
Monroe and her were to go on an errand, and I wondered how long they were going to take.
It was finally him and me. Alone.
That was my chance.
I straightened my dress, sprayed some perfume on my neck, reapplied lip gloss, and tried to stay calm.
I could do it. I thought.
The moment I stepped out of the guest room, I saw the retreating figure of a lady going into his room.
The joy I had when I noticed his room was right next to mine was dulled when I could hear his excitement from behind the wall.
I closed the door shut and listened instead.
“My mom would be here in thirty.”
“I should be telling you, Mr Stamina.”
He chuckled in a low tone that always found a way to make my heart melt.
I crawled to the bed, palm firmly on my chest like I was scared it would burst open.
Their dialogue graduated from chuckles and light teasing to pants.
I rested my head on the bed frame and breathed out slowly, trying not to interrupt them.
“Fuck! Flynn…” the girl moaned aloud.
I hissed as sensations sparked across my body.
That was the first time I had the naughtiest maladaptive daydream.
I closed my eyes and placed myself in that room with him.
I was she, and he was mine.
My hand naturally came up to my breasts, trying to soothe the aching bud, screaming for attention. Another part of me wanted the attention real bad.
“You like that?” His time was low, with a rumble that made me wince for more.
“Yea~yea~mnnn~ fuck!” she mumbled gibberish.
That made two of us.
I didn't realize when my other hand pushed down my soaked panties.
The door wasn't locked.
Anyone could come in at any time and catch me red-handed.
But that was the sinful thrill.
I rubbed my clit in the exact motion his thrusts on her were.
Not too fast, not too slow.
“Moan for me, baby,” he urged.
She did, letting out what I wanted to let out as well. I was a little relieved her screams swallowed mine.
I was close, but no.
I had to hide it for now.
I needed us to reach together.
“Flynn…” I called softly. Thinking of how his hands would cup my body as he thrusted into me.
He groaned, and at the same time I let myself go.
Biting down on my scream unsuccessfully.
When the heat died down, I looked at myself and how crazy I was becoming because of my best friend's brother.
I stood up, walked into the toilet, and let the water fall on me and the pink gown I had worn specifically for him.
I had to end this, even though it had not started yet.
Fast forward to freshman year at his party. Monroe had gone to East herself, and I watched him walk out of the club too.
I excused myself from the boring tattooed guy beside me who spoke about nothing but drugs.
Hopefully I caught him before he could go far, then I pulled him aside.
Maybe it was the alcohol then, but I had always blamed it on the booze.
“Flynn,” I made sure my voice was soft.
He looked concerned.
“What's the matter?” He pushed a lock of hair behind my ears.
“Did he say something mean to you?” He asked innocent of my intentions.
“You were noticing?” I asked.
“It is wrong to watch over your sis…” I clasped my hand on his mouth to stop that wall from growing higher.
“I have something to tell you, but first of all …Happy birthday”
His brows knitted together in confusion.
“Th…thams,” he said against my palm.
“Don't think of me as weird or anything…but I…”
Speaking suddenly got difficult.
“I…I…” but he was surprisingly patient.
I swallowed and locked eyes with him. I needed to see his expression.
Everything.
“I like you, Flynn.” His eyes widened at my confession.
I understood why.
This was not the first time I pulled him aside to talk, but I had always ended up diverting my original intention.
Instead of confessing, I caved behind
' I'm on my period, and I don't have spare pads.’
He usually looked so scared, like he was the one having blood seep out of his body.
I almost usurped him from Monroe.
But hearing my confession must have put him in a difficult state, because he always tagged me as his sister.
Nothing more.
The rage of his silence made me release his lips.
“I just wanted you to know how I feel,” I started, “ it may just be…maybe…teenage infatuation…”I rambled on.
“Nyx.”
I stopped and looked him in the eye again.
“Wh…when did it start?”
I bit my lower lip. Unsure why I was panicking so much.
I had thought I had everything under control. But no.
Like a fool that I was, I got to my tiptoes and slammed my lips with his.
Maybe locking lips would best explain my intentions to him.
He didn't push me away. Not kiss me back.
I retreated, feeling more foolish by the second.
Yet he didn't say anything. Just stood there frozen.
I couldn't handle it as tears from tension began to flow down my eyes.
I didn't want Monroe to see me like this.
I cleaned my tears.
“I'm sorry. I shouldn't have…” I spun around before I finished and ran out of there.
Thanks to the dull lights, no one noticed my red eyes.
When the police came, everyone must have thought my red eyes were because of the altercation with Monroe.
It hurt like hell when he avoided eye contact throughout that night.
I wondered if I had just made a big mistake.
