Chapter 168 THE CHOICE THAT COULD DESTROY THE WORLD

Chapter 168 THE CHOICE THAT COULD DESTROY THE WORLD
The fortress was no longer calm.
The moment the sky shattered, the entire pack felt it.
Wolves poured into the courtyard, their faces filled with fear and confusion. The air was heavy, thick with something ancient and unfamiliar.
Inside the Luna Chamber, Amanda stood frozen, her arms wrapped tightly around her child.
Her daughter looked peaceful.
Too peaceful.
As if the chaos outside had nothing to do with her.
Andrew stood beside Amanda, his heart still racing from the visions the child had forced into his mind. His hands were trembling slightly, though he tried to hide it.
Ethan stood near the door, his Alpha aura filling the room like a storm ready to break.
The messenger remained on one knee, his head bowed toward the child.
Silence filled the chamber again.
But this time, it did not feel empty.
It felt dangerous.
Amanda swallowed slowly.
Her voice was soft, but it carried pain.
“What did you mean when you said you have returned?”
The baby turned her golden eyes toward Amanda.
For a moment, Amanda felt as if she was looking into something endless.
Something that did not belong to a child.
“I was not born for the first time,” the child said calmly.
Andrew’s breath hitched.
Ethan’s eyes darkened.
Amanda felt her chest tighten.
“What do you mean?” she asked.
The child tilted her head slightly, studying Amanda’s face as if trying to understand her emotions.
“Before the moon existed, before wolves existed, before fragments existed,” the child said quietly, “there was only the beginning.”
Amanda felt cold.
The messenger spoke softly.
“She is not a newborn soul,” it said. “She is an ancient existence reborn through your body.”
Amanda’s hands trembled.
Her grip on the child tightened unconsciously.
“That is impossible,” Andrew said, his voice shaking. “She is a baby. She is flesh and blood. She cried when she was born. She breathed like any child.”
The child looked at Andrew.
Her gaze was not hostile.
But it was not innocent either.
“I am flesh and blood,” she said softly.
Then she added, “But I am also memory.”
Andrew felt his heart sink.
Ethan stepped forward.
His voice was firm.
“What is she?” he demanded.
The messenger lifted its head slowly.
“She is what existed before the moon created order,” it said.
Amanda felt her mind spin.
“Order?” she whispered.
The messenger nodded slightly.
“The moon created balance,” it said. “Light and darkness. Wolves and humans. Life and death.”
Amanda stared at her child.
“And before that?” she asked.
The child answered calmly.
“Chaos.”
The word echoed in the chamber.
Outside, thunder rolled across the sky.
Amanda felt something inside her break.
Chaos.
Her daughter was chaos.
Andrew moved closer to Amanda.
He placed a hand on her shoulder.
“Amanda,” he whispered gently. “Look at her. She is still your child. Whatever she is, she is still yours.”
Amanda looked down at the baby.
Her daughter’s face was soft.
Her skin was warm.
Her tiny fingers wrapped around Amanda’s finger.
She felt real.
She felt human.
But her eyes…
Her eyes were not human.
The child looked up at Amanda.
“Mother,” she said softly.
Amanda’s breath trembled.
“Yes,” she whispered.
“Do you love me?” the child asked.
The question pierced Amanda’s heart.
Tears filled her eyes.
“Of course I love you,” she said.
The child stared at her quietly.
Then she asked something that shattered the room.
“Will you kill me if they ask you to?”
The world stopped.
Andrew’s heart froze.
Ethan felt his body stiffen.
The messenger lowered its head.
Amanda felt her soul tear apart.
Her lips trembled.
“Who told you that?” she whispered.
The child looked toward the door.
At that moment, the chamber doors opened.
The council of wolves walked in.
Their faces were tense.
Their eyes were filled with fear.
Behind them, many pack leaders stood.
Ethan turned sharply.
“What are you doing here?” he asked coldly.
The council leader stepped forward.
His voice was heavy.
“The pack has felt the disturbance,” he said. “The sky broke. The moon trembled. The world shifted.”
He looked at Amanda’s child.
His eyes darkened.
“And the reason is in her arms.”
Amanda felt her heart sink.
Andrew stepped forward instantly.
“Do not look at her like that,” he said.
The council leader did not look away.
“This child is not normal,” he said. “The pack is afraid.”
Amanda’s voice was calm, but her hands trembled.
“She is a baby,” she said.
The council leader shook his head slowly.
“She is not,” he replied.
Silence filled the chamber.
Then he said the words that cut deeper than any blade.
“For the safety of the world… the child must be destroyed.”
The words echoed in the air.
Amanda felt her breath leave her body.
Andrew turned toward the council in shock.
“Have you lost your minds?” he shouted.
Ethan’s aura exploded.
His eyes burned with rage.
“You will not touch her,” he said.
The council leader did not move.
“This is not a request,” he said quietly. “It is a decision.”
Amanda felt her heart break completely.
Her daughter tightened her tiny fingers around her hand.
She looked up at Amanda.
Her golden eyes were calm.
Not afraid.
Not crying.
Almost as if she had expected this.
The child whispered softly.
“Now you must choose, Mother.”
Amanda stared at her.
Tears streamed down her face.
Her voice shook.
“Choose what?” she whispered.
The child looked at her gently.
“Me,” she said.
“Or the world.”
Outside, wolves howled in fear.
Inside, Ethan stepped forward, ready to fight.
Andrew stood beside Amanda, his eyes filled with pain.
The council waited.
The messenger watched silently.
And Amanda…
Amanda felt the weight of destiny press down on her again.
But this time, it was not her fate.
It was her child’s.
Her arms tightened around her daughter.
Her heart screamed.
Her mind burned.
Her soul shattered.
And the chapter ended with one terrifying truth:
Whatever Amanda chose…
The world would never be the same again.
