Chapter 25 Control
ZARA'S POV
"How do you feel when you transform into that creature?" Dr. Voss asked.
My wolf got angry as she growled within me.
That was new!
"I feel okay." I responded.
"Have you talked to your wolves before?" She asked as she stepped closer to me.
"No." I responded truthfully.
She looked into my eyes for a long time before looking away.
I guess she saw the truth in my eyes because she stepped backwards.
"Sit on the chair." She said.
I obeyed her with no defiance in my gaze. I sat on the chair and immediately, I got strapped by robotic devices, ensuring that I had no escape whatsoever.
"How about we go over a few things." She said giving me a cheeky smile.
Fear was present in my systems now. I didn't know what to expect from her and I hated feeling this way.
"What's your relationship with Mira?" She asked.
"Roommates." I said letting the lie flow so easily.
If she was going to play this game, I may as well put in an effort in making my face match the lies that I would spew out in response to her questions.
I screamed as I felt a needle pierced me deep.
"Fuck!!!" I screamed.
That hurt like a bitch and I hated every bit of it.
"How about we take that again." She said as she stepped further away from me, typing mindlessly into her iPad.
"Who's Mira to you?" She retorted.
Mira's a fucken roommate." I threw back at her.
Whatever was going to come next, I was very sure that I would do my best to resist her.
Another piercing from the needle. I held in my scream, as mg face contorted desperately in pain.
"Hmm... You seem to be getting used to that piercing." She said.
"Tell me about Kai."
"It seems you both have gotten close."
"There's nothing to tell." I gritted out through my teeth.
"Are you sure?" She asked again.
With that I felt something else. The smell of wolfsbane. It was so strong.
And... She didn't know that that didn't work on me.
She looked taken aback. The effect of a wolfsbane is supposed to kick in after a few seconds but nothing was happening to me.
She tapped a few key into her iPad. Her hands were all over the place. Blue holographic prints ts began to appear on the glass walls. She searched through a folder.
"What the hell are you?" She asked furiously.
"I don't know... Why don't you tell me?" I threw back.
"I mean... Since you're desperately trying to figure me out."
She shaled her head before tapping on a key in the glass wall.
Just then, I could feel air leaving my system. I didn't know how to breathe at that point.
"Now let's be serious with each other ayy!" She said not caring if I was breathing or not.
"Who's Kai to you?'" She asked.
"He...is... Is.. no... thing...to...me" I wheezed through my nose.
"The machines stopped so I could now breathe. I started coughing furiously, my eyes turned red, bloodshot red.
"Then why are you so close?" She asked.
"Are you jealous of our closeness?" I demanded.
"Wow!!! You have a lot to say or should I say comment when it comes to Kai." She laughed out loud.
That shut me up. She would be damned if I said anything more.
"Talk Night. Talk!" She ordered.
I was determined to keep mute no matter the move she made.
Then.... The jab came. I don't know what punched me but my eyes became fuzzy. My head started spinning, memories came flooding into my head
"Fight it Zara!" I heard the voice say.
"Fight it!" It said again.
Louder this time. It was Luna's voice.
"What do you mean?" I questioned.
"Fight the memories."
"Block her out. Else it would be used against you."
That was all I needed to fight our Dr.Voss. I blocked her out of my mind. I don't know how I did it but Dr. Voss fell to the ground in a loud thud.
"Stop messing with my head!" I heard the gutteral scream come out from within me.
She shook with fear but quickly recovered herself.
I was tuning in and out of consciousness. I didn't know what was happening. One minute I felt like myself, Zara Night, another minute, I was some other person, powerful and not to be messed with.
I felt something cover my eyes, my sight. Everywhere was black.
"Why are my eyes covered?" I asked Dr.Voss, knowing very well that she was still in the room.
"I want to test out a theory." She responded sadistically.
"What theory?" I asked, getting quite scared.
"Oh... Don't worry. Just sit pretty." She responded.
I heard bells clanging, my breath became rough. I became numb at some point.
Chairs were moving, silent hums, red lights, yellow lights, green lights, white lights, then black.
I was injected once again. Something stronger than the initial injections.
I held onto the chair handles so tightly that it felt like I could rip it out.
I hated not having my sight. I needed to know what was going on around me. I felt so lost and used.
"Kai is fighting against his alien side and human side." She said.
Oh Kai! I liked thinking about him.
No wait!!! Why did she keep mentioning Kai.
What was she playing at?
"You're making him lose focus and that's not good."
"I'm doing nothing."
I jerked forwards as the electricity from a cable zapped through me.
"Ohhh!!! Shush! I don't need you talking." She said shutting me off immediately.
"Are you in love with Kai?' She asked.
"No! I'm not." I responded with the speed of lightning.
That got a laugh out of her.
Then I smelt a plant. It smelt like something stronger. I didn't know what it was but it was having an effect on me and it wasn't a good effect.
"What the hell is that?" I asked, gritting my teeth.
"Oh! You don't have to worry. It's nothing serious." She responded.
"What the hell is that?" This time, I let my wolf growl out angrily.
"Tame that creature." She warned.
I didn't feel like myself anymore.
I felt my wolves try to push out from me. I felt the bones cracking from within. The whimpers, the fight for control. It was all too much and I couldn't control it.
"Don't fight us!" My wolves said in unison.
"Lest she'll consume you."
I don't know what made me to believe them but I did and I didn't stop them.
Before I knew it, I had transformed into my wolves. My babies which I had grown within me. They took control over myself and I heard Dr. Voss's screams loud and clear before the electricity went out of the building.
"Stop! We have given her the scare." I commanded my wolves.
That was the only thing I said before they let me take control back.
I got rid of the clock covering my eyes to see Dr. Voss as a shivering mess leaning by the wall.
I don't know what may have happened in that short time of letting my wolves out. But I was tuning in and out of myself.
