Chapter 72 Home.
Creed’s pov.
“You what!” I basically yell out.
Lily clamps her hand down over my mouth and shushes me.
“Shh, not so loud!” She says while rubbing her head.
“You killed… your father?” I say, trying to make sure I understand what she’s saying.
“Yes!” She says while running a hand down her face tiredly, “he was following us, watching us. He wasn’t very hard to kill considering he was basically human. I burned my mothers body, there’s no way he’s coming back.”
I wrap my arms around her and pull her close, “are you okay? I know that must’ve been hard…”
She sighs and leans her head on my shoulder, “it was so hard, Creed,” she says while sniffling, “I just wish she was still here, alive. I can’t believe she’s gone forever.”
I let Lily cry on my shoulder until she felt she didn’t need to cry anymore. The bath I made for her is probably already cold but it doesn’t matter, as long as she’s here, in my arms that’s all that matters.
“Here,” I say, handing her a glass of wine, “it’s the human stuff, it won’t affect you or the babies, I just thought it would be nice for you to relax.”
She takes the glass from me with a smile that doesn’t quite reach her eyes, “thanks, today has been tough,” she sighs, taking a small sip of wine.
I look over towards the door and see all of the bags she left there, “would you like to go through all of that with me?” I ask with a cheeky grin, knowing that would cheer her up.
“Of course I do!” She answers, her eyes lighting up in happiness.
She gets off the bed as fast as she can, walking over to the bags and grabbing as many as she can carry.
Setting them on the bed she sits back down and starts to take stuff out one by one.
“I had to get this when I saw them!” She says excitedly, pulling little booties out of the bag.
I smile when I notice they are black dragons that resemble Hunter.
“When I saw them I knew they were meant for our Maddox. They look exactly like Hunter,” she says while looking at the tiny boots in her hands, “don’t you think?”
“Yes, sweetheart. They were meant for our boy,” I replied with a loving smile on my face. The way this woman makes me feel… the love I have for her only grows stronger and stronger every day.
She’s going to be the best mother.
She showed me every single thing she bought with Raya, not including the things Raya brought to hers and Ryan’s place.
The only things we need to get are the big items now. Cribs, high chairs, and toys.
“This is great, we already have so much we won’t have much preparation to do,” I say while organizing the clothes with Lily.
“Well…” she whispers quietly, looking at me with a grimace on her face, “you do realize we need to either move into our own house before the babies are born or add extensions on either side of our room. This isn’t big enough for six people,” she says while gesturing towards the room.
My eyes widened at the fact I didn’t think of it. But now that I am I realize we definitely will, there’s no way we can fit four cribs in here.
“How about we do what you said and add extensions on both sides of our room,” I say while thinking about it, “Maddox and Athena can share the room on the left! While Juniper and Mazikeen share the room on the right. We can put doors so we can enter from our room only and make sure they each have a big window. When the kids get older we can move into our own home where they can each have their own rooms.”
“That’s an amazing idea, Creed! They’ll definitely need their own rooms when they hit a certain age. Especially Maddox, the poor guy,” she chuckles, “the only boy, with three sisters, he’s gonna have his hands full.”
I laugh slightly thinking it’ll be great having so many fledglings at once, I’ll do my best to be a good dad and partner.
“I think that’s enough for the day,” I say while laying Lily back against the bed, “you’ve done too much, relax.”
I lay beside her and trace my fingers along her skin. Lily sighs in contentment, enjoying the way it feels.
We just lay there together, in comfortable silence.
Just as I thought Lily was about to fall asleep she asked the question I was dreading.
“Creed… you never told me why you walked out of here so suddenly this morning,” she says, rolling her body to face me.
“I- I had a nightmare,” I start to say, “it turned out to be a vision. I was scared- I didn’t want to scare you, or add to your shoulders. You’re the mother of my children- I couldn’t add any more stress onto you,” I look away, trying to build the courage to keep going, “there was a hooded figure… Behind him were piles of bodies and the ground was painted in blood. I spoke to Glenda and she said to trust in Hunter. He said it was a vision, that war is coming.”
“War is coming,” she whispers quietly, placing a hand over her belly.
I take my hand and place it over hers, giving it a small squeeze, “I won’t let anything happen to you guys, I promise.”
“You can’t promise anything, Creed. We don’t know what the future holds,” she says so quietly I almost didn’t hear her.
“I know I can’t exactly promise that, but I can promise to always be here to protect you. You and the babies are the most important things in my life,” I vow, grabbing her and pulling her tightly against me, not wanting to let go.
