Chapter 17 Running Out Of Time Here.
Lily's pov.
When I wake up in the morning I’m somehow sprawled out on top of Creed, one of my hands is literally in his face and my head is directly on his chest, on my way I apparently kicked the blanket onto the floor along with several pillows.
I internally groan and Sapphire laughs at me.
‘Looks like we had a good sleep, I know I did, once we mark each other I can visit Hunter in our souls, sleep beside him at night like you and Creed get to do.’
‘I definitely had a good sleep; but I feel bad for Creed’ . I can't help but laugh too. I try to slowly peel myself away from creed, as soon as I am almost off of him though his eyes spring open and he latches his hands onto me, I gasp in surprise at the quick reaction.
“Oh my goddess Lily, where are you going? You scared me, it was just a reflex to grab you like that.” Creed speaks in that heavy, morning voice. Sapphire purrs in delight.
“Just going to the bathroom, but I somehow had myself sprawled over you. I don’t even remember moving around in my sleep” I mutter. Creed laughs, a huge belly laugh, gasping for air and clutching his side.
“You-yo- you don’t remember moving around!” He just can’t stop laughing. “You tossed and turned like a fish out of water last night.” He chuckles a little more. I look down in shame, my face heats up and my fists clench.
“Are you serious right now?” I ask embarrassed.
“Yes but it’s not a problem; I actually liked it. Best sleep I’ve ever had.” He replies casually.
I laugh and shake my head.
“Actually there’s also one more thing we need to do before we leave this morning, I need to grab something from Master Shifu's house.. there’s something very important to me there that we’ll need.” I say kind of vaguely. Creed raises a questioning eyebrow at me.
“What exactly is so important?” Creed asks while folding his arms on his chest.
“It’s my talisman.. it’s what helped me free Sapphire, it also helps me contain my powers so they are more powerful, when I have that, my fireballs are a lot more contained and larger, I can spread it to wherever and I can contain enough magic to create a portal. I was thinking I could just portal us to my childhood home; I’ve been there before so it’ll work and we can get in and out of the house undetected, as long as no one is inside.” I say and give a little shrug and smile.
Creed's eyebrows go up and he looks intrigued.
“So, you can be even more powerful?” He asks with a cheeky grin on his face.
I roll my eyes. “Yes I can. It also just helps me so I don’t lose control. I almost did one time and I never trained my powers without it again. Doing that fireball yesterday was even a little risky.”
“Don't put yourself at risk love, I wouldn’t want something to happen to you, you’ve become the most important person to me, we’ll go and do whatever you need, don’t worry.” Creed reassured me. I smile at him and feel my ears heat up a little, this is all still so new to me, I’ve never been with anyone before, creed gives me crazy butterflies.
“Okay, I’ll try not to over exert myself, we’ll have to go tell everyone we’re leaving now, once we get to Master Shifu's house we can leave our vehicle and anything else that's unnecessary to bring. I’ll portal us to my childhood home once we get there and talk to Master Shifu. Oh and I need to borrow some of Alexandra’s clothes for now please, can you ask her for me?” I am so desperate for clothes right now, if creed says no I guess the worst case I could see if anything I left at ma's house will fit me but all that stuff is from two years ago, I doubt anything will fit me now.
“Of course I’ll ask her to bring you some stuff, you guys are around the same size anyways, I’m sure it’ll fit you. Let me link her and she’ll be here soon, she actually lives on the third floor because we hate our father and she doesn’t want to live anywhere near him, that's a story for another time though, just give me a minute.” Creed says. I see his eyes slightly glaze over before he turns back towards me, he chuckles and shakes his head.
“She’ll be right up, give her ten minutes, she said she has a few things to do before she can dig through her never ending closet.” Creed rolls his eyes, “she has so much shit, I’m sure whatever she gives you, she’s never even worn! Hell I wouldn’t even give any of it back.” Creed laughs and stands up, “I’m gonna have a quick shower before Alex gets here.” He gives me a kiss on the cheek before walking towards the bathroom, I can still feel where he kissed me and raise my hand to touch my cheek, this all feels like a dream right now.
‘It’s definitely not a dream Lily. This is all very real, we are really here, in our mates bedroom'Sapphire's sassy voice quips out.
Creeds pov
I can’t stop thinking about her, Lily. She’s just so perfect, everything feels like a dream, I couldn’t for the life of me fall asleep last night, all I could do was lay there with my mate curled up in my arms, and I watched her, watched her chest rise and fall with her breaths, the way her face squints up a little and the little snores she let out, I had to keep telling myself it was real; that I wasn’t imagining it.
Hunter wouldn’t stop talking either; about how ecstatic he feels being next to our mate.
When she was trying to get up this morning, it felt like someone was squeezing my heart. I latched onto her out of instinct. I was scared she was trying to run away or something, I don’t know. All I know is that I’ll never let her go.
Standing under the shower right now, letting the water wash away the sleepiness that still lingers, my mind still drifts off to her; laying in my bed, wearing my clothes. Goddess help me.
This is what it feels like, to finally have someone to love, to cherish for the rest of my days.
I finished my business in the bathroom, when I got out I realized I didn’t bring any clean clothes in here with me, not used to having a shy mate in my bedroom. I didn't think much of it, considering I usually just wrap a towel around my waist and walk to my closet.
I sigh before wrapping the towel around me, I peek my head out of the door and notice Lily is still sprawled out on my bed waiting for me and probably waiting for Alex to get here also, I thought she wouldn’t take to long but it’s already been about 20 minutes, we do really need to get going, I step into the room and immediately Lily's eyes snap to mine.
I can feel goosebumps erupt on my skin, I clear my throat. “I forgot my clothes so I'm just going to head into the closet and grab some clothes quickly, don’t mind me.” I say and quickly make my way over to my closet, Lily's gaze is burning a hole in my back. I hear the bed shifting under her weight, she’s trying to come over to me but there’s a knock on the door making her falter in her steps.
“Can you get the door for me? I'm just going to change quickly.” I ask Lily. I see her nod her head; a hint of disappointment in her eyes. I close my closet door and heave a heavy breath. It’s not like I don’t want her, I do, I really want her. But she’s not ready for any of that yet.
Outside in my bedroom I can hear Alex and Lily chatting away.
I make quick work to throw on some clothes, jeans and a tight fitting long sleeve shirt.
When I get back into my bedroom Lily is sitting, perched on the end of my bed, Alex is sitting in a chair on the far side of my room. Beside Lily is a huge bag full of whatever Alex shoved inside.
“Hey Alex; how was your sleep?” I ask her and ruffle up her hair.
“It was alright I guess. Can you leave my hair alone!” Alex growls at me. Lily laughs at our antics and shakes her head at me.
“Alex brought me lots of clothes so I’m gonna change and we should probably say bye to Jason and Ryan before leaving, we need to hurry, we’re losing time quickly. “
