Chapter 15 My Mother Is Missing Part 2
Creed’s POV:
The look on Ryan and Jason’s faces is priceless. They keep looking at me and then Lily like they are flabbergasted.
“Are you serious?” they ask in unison.
Ryan and Jason both know how serious I was about my fated mate. I look at Lily and realize she’s got Chloe’s identity up.
“Sweetheart,” I say, "Show them who you really are, we can trust them.” Lily nods and works her magic. Closing her eyes, she breathes and just like that, her appearance changes into her true self: wavy light brown hair, beautiful blue eyes, high cheekbones and a sharp jawline. She’s absolutely stunning. I can’t get enough of her, I could look at her all day. However, now is not the time for that.
“Woah what the fuck! I’ve never seen anyone be able to do that before” Ryan blurts..
“Yeah, what the hell, that’s insane but really cool at the same time” Jason says with a boyish grin on his face.
“Well, you see.. I’m the last female dragon” Lily drops the bomb on them. They have the same expression from earlier: wide eyes, agape mouths.It’s almost comical.
“Wait, are you serious…?” Jason asks. Ryan just looks lost in thought.
“So you’re saying that you're the last female dragon? I thought there weren't any female dragons left. They all died because of the shit Danny Further put our whole race through..” Ryan says while directly looking at me.
“It’s true guys.I’ve met Sapphire, her dragon. She's beautiful and amazing. She’s really is one of a kind.” I’ve got a smitten smile on my face, I look at Lily and she’s smiling right back at me.
“But wait.. why do you have a different identity? Like, when we came in here you looked like gingersnap mcgee but now, I mean look at you” Jason says with a nervous laugh.
I glare at him but he puts his hands up in mock surrender.
“You see.. my father is Danny Further and he’s hunting my mother and I down. If he finds out that I’m the last female dragon it’ll be the end of me. Daughter or not” Lily says casually. If Ryan and Jason’s eyes couldn't get any wider, they did.
“Wai-wait.. your father? Your father is the worst man on the planet?” Jason says shocked looking at Lily.
“Yes he is and we think he found my mother, I left her two years ago to make it harder for my father to find both of us, especially me as I’m the last female dragon.My mother is just a witch. If he found her that means that we’re in for one hell of a ride and it’s going to be next to impossible to find her but I’ll burn the world down looking for her, literally” as Lily finishes she puts her hand facing up and ignites a ball of fire in her hand. Both Ryan and Jason gasp and step closer to inspect her palm. Ryan reaches out as if he wants to touch it, but Lily is quick to pull her hand away and snuffs the flame
“No touching, unless you want third degree burns” she says and then smirks.
Jason perks up at the sound of that.
“You mean you could burn everything down, if you wanted to?”
Right after he asks that, Alexandra comes bursting through the doors.
“I’m so sorry it took me so long to get here!” She looks rushed and panicked.
“It’s okay Alex, I just have someone here that I want you to meet and we also have some things we need to talk to you about .” I say softly.
She looks at me then and to my left which is where Lily is seated, Alexandra’s lips part and her eyes widen slightly.
“Well hello..” Alex says timidly. She’s always been a shy thing.
“Hello Alexandra, it’s so lovely to meet you! I’m Lily Black.. Creed's fated mate."
She has the biggest smile on her face while talking to Alex. When Alex hears what she said, she smiles back with a genuine happy smile. She grabs Lily and gives her a huge hug, shocking everyone in my office, including Alex herself.
“Hahah, I don’t know why but I’m just so happy to finally have a sister!” Alex, she’s happier than I’ve ever seen
After our mother died, Alexandra was rarely genuinely happy. She rarely smiled and she retreated into herself. I mean, she had always been shy but she became reclusive. It was sad to see her experience sorrow of that magnitude. But now, I feel she is really pleased and loves having her new sister around.
Lily's POV:
Goddess! When Alexandra hugged me, it genuinely made my chest feel light. It felt like I truly had another girl in my life now. A female that would never stab me in the back, a sister, as she called it.
“Don’t worry Alexandra! I’m also very happy to finally have a sister too!”
I give her a warm smile, squeeze her shoulder, then lean into Creed's side. He smiles at me and wraps his arm around my shoulders. I can’t help the butterflies that erupt in my belly. My body flutters in ecstacy. Wow, I honestly feel like I’m in the right place. “So the real reason I brought you all here,” Creed begins “is to tell you all that tomorrow morning we are leaving to search for Lilys mother. If you do not see or hear from me in the next three days, I’m instructing you to gather as many warriors as we can spare at the time to come and help rescue us. You’ll have to decide which one of you will stay behind to ensure and oversee that everything is running smoothly while I’m gone. I’m trusting you to handle things accordingly. I will reach out everyday at dinner time to give you guys an update on our mission. Can I be assured that you can handle this task?”
All business now, I love how he can be a loving mate and badass king.
“Yes, your Majesty” both Ryan and Jason say in unison.
“Why are you searching for Lily's mother, Creed,what happened to her?” Alexandra asks wide eyed.
“Oh my goddess Creed, how did we forget to tell her?” I ask and smack a hand to my forehead. Creed has a throaty chuckle before bringing her up to speed. Once she is all caught up, she asks in disbelief,
“So you’re telling me..Danny Further is Lily's father.Lily is the last female dragon, and He's been hunting her and her mother down, looking for them, for the last 20 ish years and if he finds out Lily is the last female dragon she’s done for?”
“Yes, that’s exactly what we’re saying. He can’t find me Alex. I’m powerful but there’s some things that even I can’t stop, especially if he overpowers me with all his followers. Who knows who he has on his side. It could be warriors, witches and warlocks. Hell, who knows what else he’s got in his pocket.I’m not willing to risk it though. I've said it before and I'll say it again - I will burn the world down looking for my mother but I can’t help her if I’m caught too”
I pause and look at my mate, “Creed has helped me see with a clearer head and I’m willing to ensure we save my mother. No matter how long it takes, we will find her” I said determined.
“Well I’m willing to do whatever needs done, what do you need me to do Creed?” Alexandra asks her elder brother expectedly.
“ you should go about your days as usual, I just wanted to make sure you knew what I was doing and where I’d be. Ryan and Jason will make sure you have everything that you need and they will be taking care of everything around here.”
Creed pauses and looks over at Ryan and Jason, nods at them knowingly before he continues. “If and I mean only IF, something happens to Lily and I, and Jason or Ryan need to come find us.. That means that the situation is really bad and you might have to be put in charge.”
Alexandra shifts uncomfortably. She clearly likes to remain in her own bubble and keep to herself. Creed knows this. He reaches out and takes her hand lovingly; affirming her, “I know that’s not something you want to do, but it’s in your blood, if I need you to do it then I trust and I know in my heart that you can.”
He proceeds to give Alexandra a huge hug, a short kiss on her forehead and asks her to go to bed.
