Chapter 106 Awakened
Chapter 106 Awakened
Lily's pov.
All I can see is darkness, but all I can think about is how that omega poisoned Mazikeen.
How she smiled as she put the poisoned bottle into her mouth.
How Mazikeen, so innocent, so clueless had drank it all down greedily, clueless to the dangers.
How Creed was too busy to notice…
My head turns and spirals as a million thoughts race through my mind.
Until suddenly I’m sitting up, gasping for breath.
“Mazikeen!” I yelled as I scrambled out of the bed, throwing the cover off of me and running towards the door.
I pull the door open fast, breaking it off of its hinges, not caring, just running faster down the hall towards the stairs, knowing they must be at Ryan and Raya’s room.
“Queen!” The maid that poisoned Mazikeen shrieked, looking at me with fear before masking it with a fake smile, “the goddess! You’re awake! King-.”
She went to ramble on but was cut off by my hand squeezing her throat.
“Do you think you could just come in here, poison my child and leave!?” I screamed into her face, Sapphire just at the surface, her anger fueling mine, “you’re surely mistaken!”
Without letting her say a word I shoved my other hand straight into her chest, grabbing her heart and crushing it.
Letting her body drop lifelessly to the ground.
I turn my head at the sounds of footsteps running up the stairs, my mind feeling like it’s turning feral.
I get in a fighting stance, ready for anything else that’s about to be thrown at me.
My eyes squint as three figures come into view.
They come to run towards me but I growl, letting my claws come out.
“Lily!? Lily it’s me!” I can hear muffled voices yelling, my head spinning and shaking, making it hard to tell who’s talking.
My vision starts to go blurry when all of a sudden I can feel sparks and tingles up my arms, my mate.
“Creed?” I whispered, blinking my eyes, the fog clearing from my head, “Creed! We need to get to her, to Mazikeen!”
I scrambled out of Creed’s arms, pushing past Ryan and my grandmother, basically falling down the stairs as I raced towards my babies.
I pushed the door open, falling onto the ground as I bursted into Raya’s room.
“Lily!” She shrieks as her head whips in my direction, her eyes widened in shock.
“Where is she!? Where’s Maze!” I say frantically, rushing towards her.
“Here! She’s right here! What’s wrong!? I was holding her because she was crying and wouldn’t stop,” she says while passing her to me, my shaky hands gripping her close.
I looked down at her face, tears falling from my eyes as I placed my hand onto her chest, letting my magic seep into her, healing her from the poison in her system.
“Lily!” Creed yells as he runs into the room, coming over to me quickly, “Lily, what the hell! Why did you kill that maid!?”
He looks me up and down frantically, reaching out to touch me.
“Don’t touch me!” I snapped, shifting my body away from him, “you allowed this! You let her get poisoned!”
Watching as his face morphed from confusion to hurt and fear.
“What are you talking about?! Lily! How are you awake? We thought you’d be in a coma forever!” He shouts confusion and anger starting to make its way onto his face, “poisoned? How was she poisoned, how would you even know that?!”
“Because!” I shouted back, feeling so much anger at the situation that I am starting to take it out on Creed, “the goddess showed me!!”
Raya gasps behind me while Creed stares into my eyes, tears forming in his eyes before they slowly start to fall.
“Lily… I’m so sorry, if I would’ve known-,” he tried to say but I cut him off.
“No, Creed. You don’t get to sit there and say you’re sorry, our daughter could’ve died. That maid that I killed poisoned her bottle. How could you let some maid we don’t even know feed our child!?” I asked furious, my body shaking from my emotions.
I look down at Maze, watching her peaceful face, sleeping soundly now.
‘It’s not his fault, Lily,’ Sapphire huffs in my mind, ‘stop blaming him!’
I took deep breaths, calming my raging emotions down before looking at Creed with tears in my eyes.
“I’m sorry…” I mumbled as I broke down, Creed rushing towards me and pulling me into his arms, placing a hand on Mazikeen, sighing as he felt her breathing.
“It’s okay… Lily, I’m so glad you’re here, awake… I thought- I thought maybe I lost you,” he whispers into my ear, sounding so broken, so sad.
“I told you that you’d never lose me,” I say, turning my head up at him as he chuckles.
“You can’t know that, sweetheart. Anything can happen… the goddess’s path or not.
I sigh, pushing myself closer to him.
Wanting to be held in his arms forever.
“Can you guys give us the room? I want to speak to her alone,” he says to everyone else in the room, burying my face in his chest to shield me from all of the looks.
My heartbeat picks up as the click of the door closing sounds, making me take a step away from Creed so I could look up at his face.
“I’m so glad you’re here…” he said quietly, looking at me with abandon, “I’ve… I've been struggling. Since you went into that coma, I’ve been trying to keep up with all of them but it’s so hard…”
I chuckle slightly, smiling for what feels like the first time in so long.
“There’s four of them, Creed. I never expected it to be easy. I’m just so glad you were there while I wasn’t…” I said softly, smiling up at him as I grabbed his hand in mine, “let’s not think about all that now… I’m here. And I want to spend time with my family.”
Creed gave me a lopsided smile, looking behind him at the bassinets that hold our other children.
“They’ve grown so much in just the few days you were gone,” he whispers, walking towards them slowly, “I think they missed their mom…”
He reaches down, grabbing Juni, rocking her gently back and forth as she wakes up.
I kiss Maze on the head before placing her down, reaching my arms out for Juni.
He places her in my arms immediately, smiling as she coos at me.
“I’m so happy I’m home…” I whisper as I stare at the little lives we created together…
