Chapter 41 - The Gem
Alisa's P.O.V.
I look at Aaron nervously. I need to tell him that I’m not a virgin. He may not want me when he finds out the truth. Even I’m still trying to process everything that’s happened. I pull him away from the others.
"I want to accept you, but you should know something first. I had a spell placed on me that made me believe another man was my mate. We had sex a couple of times before we realized we weren't mates. So I'm not a virgin." I bite my lip as I look into his eyes. Aaron strokes my cheek and kisses my forehead.
"That's not your fault. I've never been with a woman. You being with a man doesn't stop me from wanting you. Are you okay being with a cat?" I throw my arms around his neck.
"I love that you're a cat. Are you okay with me being a wolf?" Aaron's panther begins purring.
"I love that you're a wolf. How about after this training, we spend some time getting to know each other?" Aaron kisses my forehead, and I slide my hand into his hair.
"I like that idea." He kisses me lightly, and the sparks that run through me make my wolf pant.

Cassidy's P.O.V.
Watching that woman suck Bryce made me feel sick. He has tried to make me suck him, but I gag as soon as he's in my mouth. Bryce is a disgusting piece of shit that I have wanted to reject since he found me. He has threatened me that if I reject him, he will kill me, and I believe he will. My wolf said there would be a time when we could get away, and we just had to wait. I have never felt the mate bond with him. My wolf doesn’t understand why we never felt the mate bond with him if I’m really his mate. However, whether we’re his mate or not, he won’t let me leave.
After Connie is done with him, Bryce bends her over the couch and takes her hard from behind. She doesn't even flinch. She encourages him to go harder. He makes me stand and watch. When he did that to me, I screamed. Sex with him is torture, and he loves causing the most pain. Why can't they mark each other and let me go? Maybe I can find a second chance, mate, that will take me? Bryce hasn't marked me because he said it would make him weak, which makes no sense because if I’m his mate, it should make him stronger.
He and Connie have sex so many times that I lose count. I'm just glad it was with her and not me. They fall asleep in the bed, and I sleep on the couch. She can have him. My wolf and I don't even feel the pain we should when he's with another woman. I wake up before they do, and my wonderful mate yells for me as I think about sneaking away.
"Cassidy, get your ass over here." I stand and walk to the side of the bed. They are both naked on top of the sheet. His penis is sticking up while she massages it and sucks on his sack.
"This is how you should be waking me up every morning." He grabs my arm so I can't walk away.
"Straddle my face, Connie, so I can eat you while you swallow me. If I didn't have to force you, I could be licking your pussy too Cassidy, but you don't deserve that. Not until you figure out how to take care of my needs properly." Connie turns and places her knees on either side of Bryce's head. He growls as he pulls her down so his face is buried between her thighs. She leans over and begins sucking him again, and all I want to do is vomit. They deserve each other. Bryce releases my arm so he can massage her ass, and I slowly move away. Maybe this is my chance. I reach the door, and the last thing I see is Connie sucking Bryce all the way down her throat while he has his tongue deep inside her. Their moans drown out the sound of the door opening and closing.
It's still early, so it doesn't seem like anyone is up yet. I already know where I'm going. Connie said she came from Silver Lunar, where Sienna, the last female Alpha, is. That's where I'm going. Maybe she will let me stay there if I warn her about Connie and Bryce.
I sneak down the hallway and head to the side door instead of going out the front door. I figure I have less chance of being seen that way. I don't see anyone, so I open the door and look out. I step outside and take a deep breath of the fresh air. Bryce has kept me in the bedroom since he found me and said I couldn't leave until he gave me permission. I softly close the door and run toward the forest. As soon as I step into the trees, Dina mindlinks me.
"You need to shift, and we need to hurry. I can hear Bryce finishing up with his whore. He will look for you when he realizes you're not there." I run a few steps, remove my clothes, and shift. Dina picks up my clothes with her mouth and begins running. She's careful to avoid the guards and warriors. Once we're off the pack lands, she runs even faster.
We know where Silver Lunar is because we've seen it. Before Bryce claimed I was his mate, I was a rogue. I didn't join other rogues like most do. Instead, I stayed by myself and traveled. I have no idea what pack I'm from or where my parents are. The only thing I can remember is being alone.
As we run, I feel free. I haven't felt this free in a long time. The further I get away from Bryce, the more I can feel the chains of manipulation he used on me falling away. I don't believe he is my mate. If I ever find my real mate, I hope he'll accept me because I'm not pure. Bryce took my virginity, and he would have taken my soul if I had let him. When we reach Silver Lunar, Dina slows down and sniffs the air.
"We're safe. Those men he has as guards and warriors are too stupid to know how to track us." Dina says as she shifts into me. I quickly get dressed and step out of the forest. I see the large pack house, and as I begin walking toward it, a woman and a man suddenly appear in front of me.
"Who are you?" The woman asks as she walks around me. I don't know what she's doing, but I feel all tingly.
"My name is Cassidy. I ran away from the Dark Moon pack and the Alpha, who claimed I was his mate. A woman showed up who said she was from this pack, and while they were having sex, I was able to sneak away." The woman looks into my eyes and gasps.
"I can't believe it's you." I look at her in confusion.
"I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean." She takes my hand and begins pulling me to the pack house.
"I'm Kierra, and I'm a witch. This is my mate Felix. He's a vampire angel hybrid," she says. When we reach the front of the pack house, people are waiting for us.
"Kierra, what's going on?" Asks a beautiful woman with long blonde hair standing beside a man who looks like a giant.
"Sienna, this is Cassidy. She escaped from the Dark Moon pack. People have been looking for her for a long time, and I can't believe she's here." Everyone looks just as confused as I am.
"Who is looking for me? I'm just a rogue wolf." I tell her. She shakes her head and smiles.
"No, you're more than that. You're the hidden gem."
