Chapter 36 - Alisa

Chapter 36 - Alisa
Euphenia's P.O.V.

Why haven't those idiots contacted us? They're supposed to send us a text or call at noon every day to tell us if they have any updates. It's past noon, and we haven't heard anything. The fools are probably scared to tell us they're not man enough to do the job. We need a woman. I look at Calla.

"Have you spoken to your daughter?" She cringes at the mention of Alisa.

"Why would I talk to her? She's not even my real daughter. I took over her mother's body years ago, but that doesn't mean I care about her," Calla replies.

"I think it's time you called and told her about her dear dad being killed. Blame it on Sienna. Tell her you have been banned from the pack and need her to return to get information so you can take Sienna down, to stop her before she kills the rest of the pack." Calla grins.

"I think I can pull off some fake tears. Besides, Alisa owes me for making me pretend I care about her." She picks up her phone and puts it on speaker.

"Hello?" Alisa answers. Calla pretends to sob.

"Oh, Alisa. I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, but your dad is dead."

"What? How?" I can hear the shock in her voice.

"Sienna has gone crazy. She thinks everyone is against her and has started throwing people in the dungeons and killing those who were on her side. She's even banned me from the pack. I need you. Can you please go to the pack and try to get information on what her plans are? We need to stop her before any more innocent people die. You were her best friend and our only daughter. Your dad would have wanted you to avenge his death." I'm shocked at how good my sister is at this. I guess she's had lots of practice. She's acted like a mate, werewolf, and mother for the past ten years since we decided she would be the best one to spy on the pack.

"Okay, mom. When I get there, I'll be alone. I need to tell you something about Calvin."

"Okay, dear. Be safe." Calla hangs up the phone.

"Do you think that incompetent man we placed a spell on to make him think he was her mate has found out the truth?" I ask her.

"I don't know. It doesn't matter. She was out of the way when we needed her to be, and now we can use her. When we're done, we'll dispose of her like the rest of the pack." We look at each other and laugh. We have been messing with this pack longer than any of them realize. Soon, everything we want will be ours.

______________

Alisa's P.O.V.

I disconnect the call but stare at the phone in confusion. I'm heartbroken that my dad is dead, but I don't believe for a minute that Sienna had anything to do with it. I was the only one she confided in. Even though she was younger than me, we were best friends. I looked up to her. Even when we were pups, I knew she would be an incredible Alpha. My mom hasn't been very motherly to me in a long time. So why is she trying to sound upset and calling me dear now? I have to talk to Sienna. I begin throwing things into a suitcase.

I don't plan on coming back to this pack. I thought Calvin was my mate, but he's not. When we came to his pack about six months ago, everything was initially okay. However, the day before we were supposed to mark each other, another she-wolf claimed Calvin was her mate. He was conflicted because he felt the mate bond with both of us. I didn't feel it as strongly, so I told him I rejected him, and it didn't cause either of us any pain like it should have. I don't understand why we felt the bond even though we weren't mates.

I stayed in a guest room at the pack house because I was too ashamed to return home. I place my long brown hair into a ponytail and check the room to ensure I'm not leaving anything behind. I see Calvin and his mate kissing down the hall when I leave the room. The only thing I feel is sadness that I don't have my real mate yet. I don't say anything as I walk out the front door and get into my car. I stop before pulling onto the main road to talk to the warrior standing guard.

"Tell Calvin and everyone else I'm leaving and won't return. Take care, Lee." I wave and pull away. I'm glad to be going home, but I need to know the truth about my dad.

A few hours later I pull up to Silver Lunar. I take a deep breath as I drive down the long driveway. When I reach the pack house, I see Sienna standing with Troy, Zay, and several people I don't recognize. As soon as I get out of the car she runs to me. I don't hesitate to hug her. I'm a few inches taller than she is, and I used to call her Mighty Mouse when we were kids because she was stronger than everyone else.

"I'm so glad you're here. I've missed you," Sienna says.

"My mom called. She said my Dad  is dead." I will not accuse her of killing him because I know her. She's a good person. Sienna pulls away slightly.

"Your mom is not your mom. She's a witch named Calla and has a sister named Euphenia. They kidnapped me a few days ago and killed your dad." Sienna quickly tells me everything that's happened, and I'm stunned. I hug her again as my tears fall.

"I'm so sorry. I should have come back sooner. Calvin isn't my mate. It's weird because we both felt the bond, but when his real mate showed up, I rejected him, and we felt nothing from our bond being broken. Luckily, we hadn't marked each other." A woman I've never met walks over to us and holds her hands out.

"You're a pure werewolf, so Calla is not your real mother, but you have been placed under a black magic spell. I have a feeling that once you find your real mate, the spell will be broken." I look at the woman in shock.

"This is Kierra. She's a really old witch, but a good one. This is her mate, Felix, an angel-vampire hybrid. This is my mate Maverick, a wolf-warlock hybrid. His twin sister Eva is mated to Zay, and she's a witch-wolf hybrid. Troy just found his mate, Zeida, and she's a siren. This is King Drakon, but he prefers to be called Drake, and his mate Mariela is a fae-witch hybrid. Dang, that's a mouthful." Everyone starts laughing as I look around at them with my mouth open.

"Wow, you're all incredible," I whisper.

"Don't forget about you, Sienna. She has the spirit of the goddess who lives in all female Alphas. In some ways, her power is stronger than everyone else's." Kierra says. I stare at my friend in disbelief, but she waves it off.

"Those are just minor details. Come on, Alisa, Zeida just showed up, too. We were getting ready for dinner when she dropped a bomb on us. Apparently, there's an evil goddess named Kakia who wants to kill all of us so she can take over Earth." I feel like I just walked into the Twilight Zone. Nothing is how I left it. What's going on here?
