Chapter 37 THE NEW ORDER

Chapter 37 THE NEW ORDER
Freedom isn't the absence of a king," Kaelen said, his voice echoing across the shattered marble of the High Sanctum. "It’s the presence of a Sovereign who doesn't need to steal from his people."

He stood amidst the ruins of the divine palace, his \[World-Binder\] scales radiating a calm, steady warmth. Beside him, Thorne leaned on his hammer, his chest heaving as he stared at the empty space where the Chief Deity’s throne had once stood.

"It’s too quiet, Master," Thorne whispered. "The air... it feels like it’s about to snap."

"It’s because the dam just broke," Kaelen replied.

Suddenly, the floor of Heaven buckled. A roar, louder than any dragon’s cry, erupted from the very foundations of the world below. Without the "Light" deities to siphon and regulate the mana, the planet’s life force was surging like a tidal wave with no shore.

"Kaelen! Look at the readings!" Jax’s voice screamed through the communication gem, nearly drowned out by static. "The mana-veins are overloading! The capital, the Elven forests, the mines—they’re all being flooded with raw energy! It’s too much! If we don't stabilize the flow, every living soul on the continent is going to go into mana-shock and explode!"

"The gods didn't just steal the power," the Elven Queen said, her face pale as she watched a spire in the distance disintegrate into pure light. "They were the anchors. Without them, the magic is going wild. We’ve traded a cage for a hurricane!"

"We aren't trading anything," Kaelen said, his golden eyes flashing. "Jax, can you map the distribution nodes?"

"Mapping them now, but it’s useless! There are no mages strong enough to act as conductors for this volume of power! Even the High General would be incinerated in seconds!"

"I’m not looking for mages," Kaelen said. He stepped to the edge of the balcony, looking down at the world he had once seen from the mud. "I’m looking for the people."

"Master, what are you planning?" Thorne asked, stepping back as Kaelen’s wings snapped open, his platinum-violet scales beginning to hum with a frequency that vibrated through the marrow of everyone present.

"The gods kept the mana for the elite," Kaelen said, his voice now a chorus of thunder that bypassed the gems and spoke directly to the souls of his coalition. "They created the 'Mana-Dead' to ensure they had a class of slaves. I’m ending the monopoly."

\[Targeting: Every Living Core within the Continental Bounds.\]

"Kaelen, no!" the Queen gasped. "You can't distribute that much power! The human body isn't built for it!"

"It is if I rewrite the blueprints," Kaelen said.

He raised his hands toward the sky, where the "End-Time Deluge" was still swirling in his golden shield. "System! Execute the 'Equalization Protocol'. Redistribute the siphoned reserves. No more 'Elite'. No more 'Worthless'. Every man, woman, and child receives an equal share of the world’s marrow."

"But the overload—"

"I’ll be the capacitor," Kaelen interrupted.

The golden canopy above the world began to glow with a blinding, incandescent white. Kaelen’s body arched as the trillion-ton surge of raw mana channeled through his \[World-Binder\] scales. He became a bridge of fire, connecting the heavens to the earth.

"Master! Your scales are cracking!" Thorne screamed, reaching out but being blown back by the sheer pressure of the energy.

"I... am... fine!" Kaelen roared.

Across the continent, the scenes were identical. In the slums of the capital, a beggar who had never felt a spark of magic suddenly watched as his withered hands glowed with a healthy, vibrant aura. In the deep mines of the Western Ridge, the scrappers dropped their picks as their tired muscles surged with the strength of high-level knights.

The "Mana-Dead" weren't dead anymore. The "Elite" were no longer superior. The hierarchy of five hundred years was being dismantled in a single heartbeat of golden light.

"It’s working..." Jax whispered, his voice trembling as he watched the global readings stabilize. "The pressure is dropping. The surge is being absorbed... by everyone. Kaelen, you’ve done it. You’ve made the world the mages’ equal."

"The age of the 'Meat Shield' is over," Kaelen panted, his scales settling back into a dull, exhausted platinum.

He slumped against a broken pillar, his wings trembling. But as he tried to call up the System interface to check the status, the blue screens didn't appear. Instead, a series of golden cracks appeared in the air before him.

"Master? The interface is flickering," Thorne noticed, his own new scales pulsing with the shared mana.

"It’s not flickering, Thorne," Kaelen said, a strange, peaceful smile touching his lips. "It’s dissolving."

\[Final Objective Cleared: Balance Restored.\]
\[System Purpose: Fulfilled.\]
\[Ancestral Memories: Returning to the Source.\]
\[Deactivating User Interface... Goodbye, Heir of Aurelius.\]

"Wait!" Jax yelled. "The data! The quests! Kaelen, the system is vanishing!"

"Let it go, Jax," Kaelen said, standing up without the aid of the floating screens. He felt lighter. The artificial prompts, the level-up pings, and the quest logs were gone. He was no longer a 'User' in a game designed by his ancestors. He was just Kaelen. A natural, peerless being.

"You're... you're still a Dragon?" the Queen asked, sensing the overwhelming power still radiating from him.

"I am the Dragon," Kaelen said. "I don't need a system to tell me my level anymore."

He looked at his hands. The platinum scales were still there, but they felt like a part of his soul rather than a suit of armor. He was the first of a new race, a Sovereign who didn't rule through a screen, but through the blood.

"So, what now?" Thorne asked, looking at the thousands of airships floating in the now-calm sky. "We go back down? We rebuild?"

"We rebuild," Kaelen agreed. "But first, we clear out the trash."

He walked toward the center of the ruins, where the Chief Deity’s throne had been shattered. As he kicked a piece of divine marble aside, his \[Dragon Sight\]—now a natural instinct—caught a glimmer of something beneath the foundation.

"What's that?" Jax asked, walking over.

Beneath the spot where the throne had sat for half a millennium, a small, silver-white seed was nestled in a bed of obsidian sand. It pulsed with a soft, rhythmic light that seemed to harmonize with the heartbeat of the planet.

Kaelen reached down and picked it up. The moment his skin touched the seed, a vision flashed through his mind—not of the past, but of a world yet to be born.

"The 'Core of the Next World'," Kaelen whispered.

"The next world?" Thorne asked, his hand on his hammer. "I thought we just fixed this one."

"We fixed the machine," Kaelen said, his eyes fixed on the seed. "But this... this is the gardener’s tool. The deities weren't just siphoning mana to live. They were trying to grow something. Something that didn't include us."

"Is it a threat?" the Queen asked, her hand moving to her bow.

Kaelen looked up at the horizon, where the new, ancient landmass was still rising from the sea, a result of the world’s shifting mana. The suspense returned, a cold prickle at the back of his neck.

"It’s a choice," Kaelen said.

Suddenly, the seed in his hand flared with a brilliant, emerald light. A voice, ancient and melodic, echoed from the seed, but it wasn't the voice of a god or a system. It was the voice of the earth itself.

"The cycle is broken, Sovereign. The first seed is yours. Will you plant a garden, or will you build another throne?"

Kaelen looked at Thorne, then at the millions of people below who were currently discovering their own power for the first time.

"I’m done with thrones," Kaelen said.

But as he prepared to crush the seed, the horizon shifted again. A massive, obsidian gateway began to rise from the center of the new continent, and the sky turned a deep, expectant gold.

"Master!" Jax screamed. "The gateway! It’s opening! Something is coming through from the Outer Realms!"

Kaelen gripped the seed tight, his wings snapping wide as he prepared for the final confrontation. The new order had begun, but the universe wasn't finished with the Dragon God yet.

"Wait for me," Kaelen whispered to the world.

The cliffhanger hung in the air like a bated breath. The King was gone, the System was dead, but the true adventure was just beginning. Kaelen Aurelian, the scrapper who became a god-slayer, stood ready for the next age.
