Chapter 27 Gunshots
Anushka's P.O.V.
The power suddenly goes off while we're looking at the room Dakota picked out for our future baby. She runs out of the room while Jordan and I look outside. It's not another blackout because we can see the stoplights are still working. It seems like it's either just this building or the penthouse.
"I just approved the six security men. Three of them are on their way." Jordan says as we walk out of the room.
"Good, I'll feel better having more security for now," I tell him.
"Let me go, you big ugly bad guy," Dakota screams. Jordan and I run to the living room, and my heart drops. A large man with thick black hair and an evil smile is holding a struggling Dakota with one hand, while in his other, he's holding a gun.
"Who are you? Let my daughter go!" I scream at him. He raises the gun when we take a step toward them.
"Don't worry, she's not the one I want. I want you, Anushka. If you come with me willingly, I will let her go." I look at Dakota. She's trying to make him drop her. I can't risk my baby. I look at Jordan, and I can tell he knows what I'm going to do. Maybe once he releases Dakota, I can get away.
"I will go with you," I say, walking over to him.
"No, Mommy, don't go with the bad guy!" Dakota screams while she hits his arm with her fists. Jordan is clenching his hands, trying to control his anger. I know he wants to do something, but he's scared that Dakota or I will get hurt. When I get close enough, the man drops Dakota to the floor and grabs me. He pulls my back to his front and points the gun at my head. Dakota wraps her arms around my leg as she cries.
"Please don't go with the bad man, Mommy. Please stay here with me and Daddy." Tears run down my face as I reach down and rub my hand over her head. I look at Jordan, and his eyes are filled with tears.
"I have to, sweetheart. Stay here with Daddy. I love you." My voice cracks as we all three cry. Dakota runs to Jordan.
"Please don't let the bad guy take Mommy. Please, Daddy." Jordan picks her up and whispers to her. She nods, he puts her down, and she runs out of the room.
"Where did she go?" The man asks.
"I told her to go and hide just like she did this morning when the other asshole held us at gunpoint," Jordan replies, looking into my eyes. Thank goodness he's having Dakota call 911 again. If only we could keep this guy from taking me long enough for the police to get here.
"The person who paid me to take you said I could do whatever I want as long as I don't kill you. Just imagine all of the fun we're going to have." He slides one hand under my shirt and gropes my breast while continuing to point the gun at my head. He chuckles when Jordan's face turns red.
"What's the matter, rich prick? You don't want anyone else sampling the goods? Well, guess what? I'm going to do a lot more than just sample. If you get her back alive, I'm going to have her so broken she won't want you to touch her." He leans down and bites my ear. I try to twist away, but he doesn't stop. His mouth moves to my neck, where he bites down almost hard enough to break the skin.
"When I get my hands on you, I'm going to tear you into so many pieces the vultures won't be able to find them," Jordan says through clenched teeth.
"When I'm done marking her, you won't be able to look at her body without thinking about my mouth being on her. When you go to bed tonight, think about my dick being inside of her. As much fun as this is, it's time for us to go." The man begins to back up while keeping the gun pointed at my head.
"Reach down and open the door." He says against my ear. I keep my eyes on Jordan's while I reach for the handle.
"Take care of Dakota," I tell him as I'm pulled into the hallway.
"If you come out of this door in the next sixty seconds, I will kill her." The man says to Jordan.
"I love you," I tell him.
"I love you too," Jordan replies as we both cry. When the door shuts, my sobs start. Whatever happens, I know none of us will ever be the same again.

Jordan's P.O.V.
As soon as the door shuts, I run to Dakota's room. Please tell me she called the police.
"Dakota?" I say as I run through the doorway. She crawls out from under the bed with my phone in her hand. "Did you call 911?"
"Yes. Is Mommy okay now?" She asks as I lift her up and run out of the room.
"Not yet, but we're going to get her." When we reach the front door, I freeze. Men are yelling. I look through the peephole and see the men Todd sent. I also see the asshole who took Anushka still holding her with the gun to her head.
"What's going on, Daddy?" Dakota asks.
"Our security men are out there trying to save Mommy." I want to open the door and get Anushka myself, but I can't put Dakota in harm's way. Suddenly, everyone goes out of my view, and gunshots echo through the hallway. When they stop, I carefully open the door, and what greets me makes my heart stop.
The man who had Anushka is dead with a gunshot wound to the head. Anushka is lying on the ground next to him with a growing blood stain on her T-shirt. I run over to her with Dakota in my arms. After setting Dakota down, I put my hands over the wound to try and stop the bleeding.
"Mommy, wake up. Wake up, Mommy. Daddy, why isn't Mommy waking up?" Dakota cries as she shakes Anushka's shoulder. I can't answer Dakota as the blood continues to pour out of her mom. She can't die. Please don't let her die.
