Chapter 248 Too Many Brothers
Dakota's P.O.V.
I watch my family in the blood-filled garage, but I can't take my eyes off Ari. I see the message he's sending me. I love him, too.
"Do you like the little surprise we left for them?" I glance at Shapiro Tarasovich. Why is he and his brother helping Colton and Dustin?
"They've seen worse, so they don't scare easily. What happened to sticking with your own kind? Dustin and Colton are the furthest you can get from Russians. They're rats." Dustin slaps my face, but I don't flinch.
"You won't think I'm a rat when I get done with you," he says.
"We only needed their help to get you, but don't worry, we're not going to let them touch you because you're ours," Zubov says, stroking my head. Too bad I can't get them to fight each other to the death, and let them all kill each other. However, I think I would rather kill them all myself. Why do they act like I'm a piece of property that belongs to them? Dustin steps between Zubov and me.
"We told you I was going to marry her and force her to become part of our family. Why are you changing the plan? You're not in charge here; we are," Dustin says as he points his gun at Zubov.
"That's what we let you think when you came to us, but you are worthless. Dakota is too valuable to be left in the hands of some American wannabe gangsters. You were never in charge, and now that we have her, it's time for you to leave, or you can die. We'll let the choice be yours." Zubov pulls out his gun and points it at Dustin. This is getting good. I wonder what they would say if I asked for some popcorn.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Colton says as he stands behind Zubov and points his gun at his head. Shapiro moves quickly and has his gun pointed at Colton, making Dustin turn to point his gun at Shapiro. If I start counting down from five, will they all pull their triggers simultaneously and fall like dominoes?
"It looks like we have an intriguing situation. What to do? What to do?" Shapiro says.
"I think you should all pull your triggers, and whoever is still standing wins," I suggest.
"You would like that, wouldn't you? Do you think we're dumb enough to kill ourselves over you?" Dustin asks.
"I don't think you're dumb; I know you are. What made you think the Tarasovich brothers would work with you?" I ask as I work on getting my hands out of the zip ties. Now that they're not paying attention, I can work on getting loose.
"We don't trust them, but we needed a place that couldn't be connected to us to hide you. We had planned to kill them all along," Colton says. My hands are almost free; I just need the men to be distracted a little longer.
"You thought you were going to kill us?" Zubov asks. When the twins nod, Zubov and Shapiro break into laughter.
"That's the funniest thing I've heard in a long time. Why don't you, little boys, put your guns down, and the men will tell you how this is going to go?" Shapiro says as my zip ties fall to the floor.
"I have a better idea," I say as I stand. Before they can react, I kick Dustin, who is closest to me, in the knee and make him fall. I grab his gun as I kick Shapiro, causing him to fall into Colton. As the three of them try to get up, I use Dustin's pistol to hit Zubov in the head.
"Where do you think you're going to go? We're out in the middle of nowhere." Dustin yells as I run to the door. I will kill all four of them, but not yet. As I throw open the door, my heart sinks when I see who is there. I should have known none of them could have done this alone. The twins and Tarasovich brothers wanted me for their own, but I believe this new arrival wants me to disappear. I take a step back as he smiles at me.
"Hello, Dakota."
