Chapter 20 The Truth
Cora's P.O.V.
I can't believe that asshole has the nerve to let some bitch and her brat daughter move in with him. He's supposed to still be hurting from losing me. I will not let this stand. When I get outside Jordan's building, I get into the backseat of the car waiting for me and glare at the man sitting next to me.
"You didn't tell me he had a bitch with him. How am I supposed to make him take me back and take care of this brat in my stomach when he's clearly moved on?" I yell as the driver pulls into traffic.
"I knew he met a woman on the island and was coming back early, but I didn't know he had asked her to move in with him. That's pretty fast for Jordan. You were with him for a long time, and he never asked you to move in with him." The prick says.
"I know that. It would have been hard for me to have my other lovers if I had moved in with him. Now that I'm knocked up, Jordan needs to take care of the little urchin." I’m so damn angry I feel like going back to that penthouse and ripping them all to shreds.
"The child isn't even his. How do you plan on convincing him to take care of another man's child?" I swear if I didn't need the money, I would scratch the eyeballs out of this idiot.
"Don't you worry about that. Within the next few days, that blonde bitch and her daughter will be on the street, and I'll be back in Jordan's bed. If he doesn't come to his senses, maybe I'll force him to." I smile as I look out the window. Let's see what he does now that I've planted the seed. If he doesn't come around, I'll take matters into my own hands. When the woman and her daughter are dead, I'll be there to comfort him. Maybe I'll kill them just for thinking they had a right to my man. The only thing that could ruin my plan is Jordan finding out who the father of this thing inside of me is.

Man with Cora P.O.V.
I honestly thought Cora was smarter than she's turning out to be. Men like Jordan can't be manipulated into doing what she wants. I've known him for years and have learned that he knows how to read people. He most likely already knows she's lying.
Cora and I have been planning this for months. We just needed time for Jordan to feel lonely and start missing her. However, he never seemed to miss her. He didn't appear to be a man whose heart was broken after breaking up with a woman he'd been with for a long time. Cora told me that he would never get over her because she was the love of his life. I don't think she was as important to him as she thought.
I have the driver drop her off at her place and continue to my home. When I got word that Jordan was coming back early, I thought maybe she was right. Maybe he was depressed, and even the tropics couldn't lift his spirits. I was told he was seen with a woman there, but that didn't mean anything. It could have been a fling. If he had her and her child move in with him, then it's something more. I need to know who this woman is. I get out of the car and go into my brownstone.
I know Jordan uses Raymond to find information about prospective partners and investors. I wonder if he can tell me anything about the woman who moved in with him. I'll need to play it as though Jordan is making the request. Pulling out my phone, I click on Raymond's name.
"Hello?" he answers.
"Hey Raymond. This is one of Jordan's partners. He asked me to call you because he met a woman while he was on vacation, and he wants to know everything about her." I don't want to give him my name because I don't need this to get back to Jordan.
"Okay. What's her name?" Raymond asks.
"I'm not sure. Can you look for anything that may show the two of them together on the island and trace it that way? I think they may have been at the same hotel." Raymond doesn't say anything for a few minutes.
"Sure. I'll see what I can find. Should I call you back at this number?"
"Yes, please. Thank you, and let's keep this between us for now." I disconnect the call and head to my bedroom. Once I have the woman's information, I'll know how to use it against Jordan. I won't need Cora, and it will be time to get rid of the unnecessary baggage.

Raymond's P.O.V.
After the call ends, I write down the number of the caller. I don't believe him for a second. Jordan already knows who Anushka is and who her father is. I doubt he asked someone from his office to get information about her.
I run the man's number through my databases, and it comes back to Holt Enterprises. He called me on a company phone. What a fool. I pull up the company's phone number list and find the one issued to the man who called me. You would think that for him to have such a high-ranking job, he would have more common sense. I'll call Jordan and let him know that this idiot is trying to get information on Anushka.
When I pick up my phone to call him, everything goes black. I look out the window and see that the entire city is in darkness. What a great time for a blackout. Oh, well. Jordan and Anushka have had enough excitement for a lifetime. My cell phone may still work, but this can wait until morning. Let me see what else I can find on this guy first.
I flip on my generator and get back to work. As I look into the man's background, I begin to feel uneasy. He and Jordan have known each other for a long time. Why is he going behind Jordan's back? I can't believe what I find when I go back even further.
I need hard proof, so I hack into his home computer. His password is just as stupid as he is. I'm in within seconds. I searched the files and found one titled Jordan. There are lots of documents that I save on my computer to read through. There's also a hidden folder within the folder. It's filled with pictures. When I begin clicking through them, I feel sick.
Jordan is going to be heartbroken. I bet he has no idea that his mom's death wasn't a suicide or that one of his closest allies was responsible for her death. I can't help the ripple of fear that goes down my spine. What else has this man been up to, and why is he intent on ruining Jordan's life?
