Chapter 194 Epilogue
One Month Later
Dakota's P.O.V.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" I ask Ari, looking down at him.
"Yes. My back is just a little tight, but Courtney said it's basically healed. We only got to have one night together before the explosion, and I'm tired of waiting." He grips my hips and pulls me until I'm straddling his abdomen. He's been begging me to have sex with him for the last couple of weeks, but I wouldn't until Courtney gave us the okay. She finally did, but I'm still scared I'm going to hurt him. We've had oral sex a few times over the past week, but we're both ready for more.
"Are you sure you want to marry me? What if life isn't always crazy like it has been? Will you get bored with me?" I run my hands over his chest and abdomen.
"You seem to forget I'm a pretty boring man. How can I get bored with you when I worship the ground you walk on? My every thought every day is about you and being terrified that I'm not going to be man enough for you. Dakota, you're my beginning and my end. There's no me without you." I lean over and kiss him. This man knows exactly what to say to make me melt.
"I'm a lucky woman to have a man like you. When I was out there fighting, I stayed grounded, knowing I had you to come home to. You know, if my grandma and your grandpa hadn't fallen in love, we might never have had this chance to be together. Santino wanted to destroy Grandpa Chrissy until he saw that my mom was Grandma Gloria's daughter. Their love is what brought us together. I still plan on finding out who killed Santino. I don't want you to think I have forgotten about that. I loved him." Ari rubs his hands up my sides and over my breasts.
"He loved you, too. I think a part of him hoped that one day we would meet. Now, it's time for you to go for a ride before we have to leave." I giggle as he puts his hands on my hips and lifts me. I slowly lower myself onto him and close my eyes.
"You are still so tight, I'm going to explode soon." I open my eyes and begin to slowly move on him.
"I love you," I say as I pick up speed.
"I love you, too."
A couple of hours later, we finally left our room. Ari had a lot more stamina than I thought he would. We're having a family barbecue at Uncle Yorkie's house. We usually do them at the compound, but he decided to do this one at his house because they just redid the backyard and put in a tiki bar and swimming pool.
"Well, look who finally decided to grace us with their presence," Sarah says from her seat on Xavier's lap.
"We had important things to do. Is everyone ready to go?" Rain, Luka, Shea, Tyler, Kylie, Noah, Shannon, Benny, Galdino, and Valentina are also sitting around the table.
"Don't forget me." I turn and see Enzo running toward us. "Can we really swim at Uncle Yorkie's?"
"Yep." I pick him up and kiss his cheek. He has started calling all the uncles by the nicknames I gave them, and they love it.
"Will you help me swim?" he asks, using the pout I taught him by making puppy dog eyes and sticking his lip out. He's not supposed to use it on me, but damn if it doesn't work every time.
"Of course I will." We head outside and load into the SUVs. So far, the families have kept their word and returned to focusing on their businesses rather than trying to destroy us. The twins are still out of the country, and we haven't been able to track down Myra. It's as though she disappeared and resurfaced only to try to kill Galdino and Ari before disappearing again. We're not stupid enough to believe she'll stay away forever.
We pull up to Uncle Yorkie's house, and the driveway is already filled with cars. I'm helping Enzo out of his car seat when I look across the street. There's a woman standing there watching us. When she smirks, I feel sick. It's Myra. I hear someone running and realize Enzo is running toward the house. I look back at Myra and then at the house. No.
"Enzo, stop!" I yell and run after him, but it's too late. There's an explosion, and the house bursts into flames just as he reaches the porch. I continue running to the house as I scream, scared of what I'll find. When I get done torturing that bitch, there will be nothing left to send to hell.
Dakota’s Story will continue in Book 3 titled Dakota: Loyalty.
