Chapter 172 Enzo
Galdino's P.O.V.
We're almost to where we're supposed to meet Frank when my phone rings. It's Dakota.
"Hello?" I can hear crying in the background.
"Frank won't be there. We just got to Valentina's place. He killed her babysitter and kidnapped Enzo. He left a note that says he saw you, and if she doesn't kill you, then Enzo is dead." I didn't think that stupid fat bastard had the nerve to kidnap anyone.
"Take Valentina to your house and tell her I'll get Enzo back." I am not going to let him touch that child. The picture Valentina showed us reminded me a lot of Ari when he was that age.
"Where are you going? I want to be there." I smile and shake my head. Dakota is definitely one of a kind.
"Don't worry, I'll bring Frank to you. His death isn't going to be a quick one." We arrive at the location where Valentina was supposed to meet him, and, of course, no one is there. I have a feeling I know exactly where he is.
"Good." She disconnects the call.
"Take me to Frank's delivery headquarters. Dakota said he kidnapped Valentina's son and killed the babysitter. We're going to get the child back and take Frank to Dakota's." Benny looks at me in the rearview mirror as he turns around.
"I was surprised you didn't kill her for pulling a gun on you," he says. He's been with me longer than anyone and is one of the few who will speak their mind.
"I couldn't when I saw how scared she was, and then finding out she's a single mother. I know from experience what it's like not to have a mom around. Look at Ari. He's terrified Dakota is going to leave him because of his mother." Benny chuckles lightly. I look at him in the mirror, and he shrugs.
"You're becoming more and more like your dad. I see the same look on your face that he used to have when he talked about Dakota. He said she could change the world, and now I believe it. I've never met a woman who scared me until I met Dakota, and she scares the shit out of me." I smile as I look out of the window.
"Yeah, she's incredible." When they announced their engagement, I couldn't have been happier. However, it also concerns me. The families will feel even more threatened and become more dangerous once they learn of their engagement. Although if they try anything, I'll just send Dakota to take care of them with her knives. She was in my bedroom and threw that knife to disarm Valentina's hand before I could even blink. Dad and Christov would be proud of the woman she has become.
A few minutes later, we pull up to Frank's delivery headquarters. My three men and I take out our guns. This is Frank's main business. It fronts as delivery, but he's really dealing in drugs, firearms, and who knows what else. When we get out, a man walks out holding a gun. We all point our guns at him.
"Where's Frank?" I ask as I walk toward the man. He doesn't answer but begins to raise his gun. I shoot him in the head before he has a chance to lie to me. Two more men walk outside.
"Where's Frank?" I ask them. They look at the guy on the ground and back at our guns. Their hesitation costs them their lives as two of my men shoot them. Benny kicks open the door, and we follow him inside. Frank is there just like I knew he would be, with several men pointing guns at us.
"Galdino, it's nice to see you again." Frank is a fat, sweaty weasel.
"Where's Enzo?" I ask, pointing my gun at him. He smirks and walks toward me.
"I knew that bitch wouldn't go through with it. That's why I followed her and watched you leave. Don't worry about Enzo. This is between my employee and me." He turns his back, and I glance at Benny. He and my other two men have killed Frank's five men before he takes two steps.
"The minute you sent Valentina to my home to kill me, you made this my business. Now, where is the boy?" Frank tries to pull out his gun, but Benny and Dion are on him before he can get it.
"Don't worry, we'll find him," I say as they pull him outside, and Lionel and I begin searching.
"Enzo, are you here?" I say loudly. He doesn't reply, but I hear something coming from the office. I open the door and see him tied and gagged, lying on a couch. I quickly remove the gag and untie his hands and feet. Why would they restrain him like this? He has tears running down his face as he looks at me in fear.
"I'm Galdino. I'm going to take you to your mommy, okay?" I say softly as I stand and reach for him. He looks unsure.
"Are you going to hurt me, too, like that other man?" I shake my head and squat in front of him.
"No, I'm not going to hurt you. What did he do to you?" Enzo wipes his tears from his face.
"He hit my face when I was crying and tied me up." I lift him up, and he wraps his arms around my neck.
"Don't worry. He won't hurt you anymore." Enzo buries his face in my neck as I carry him outside.
