Chapter 15 Leaving
Jordan's P.O.V.
I knew we were only going to have one shot to get Anushka and Dakota out of here. I'm hoping Raymond could talk to the police and give them our location. I trust him more than I do the locals because I know he can track me in real-time. When Paul starts coming for Dakota and pulls out a knife, I know I have to act fast. I see in Anushka's eyes that she doesn't want to go, but I also know she will because of Dakota.
"Run."
When she begins running, Paul lunges for her, but I grab him and throw him against the car. One punch to the face, and he falls to the ground. The man who picked us up grabbed the gun, and I ran toward him. I jump and tackle him to the ground as he fires. He doesn't hit anything as I knock the gun out of his hand. We wrestle on the ground, and he punches me a few times, but I'm bigger and stronger. I knock him out and get the gun. After making sure the safety is on, I slip it into my waistband and run after Anushka and Dakota. When I reach them, Anushka's face is frozen in fear until she sees me.
"I thought you were dead," she cries as I wrap my arms around her and Dakota.
"Not a chance. We just found each other. There's no way I was going to let a couple of idiots take me out." We both look up when we hear cars coming up the road. Three police cars stop next to us. I walk over to the first car as they roll a window down.
"The men who kidnapped and tried to kill us are down the road. I knocked them out. Here, you can have this." I pull out the gun and carefully hand it to the officer.
"We'll take care of them. Do any of you need an ambulance?" The officer asks.
"No, we're fine. The blood on me is theirs, not mine." I reply, returning to Anushka and Dakota. The first two cars drive to Paul and the other guy, while the last car stays with us. We give them our statements and confirm that the man who kidnapped us also kidnapped Dakota.
After we're done, the other two cars return with Paul in one car and the kidnapper in the other. The third car takes us back to the hotel. Once we're in our room, we collapse on the couch.
"I'm ready to return to New York. What about you?" I ask them. Dakota crawls onto my lap.
"If we go back, will you still stay with us?" She asks. I hug her and look at Anushka. She takes my hand and smiles.
"I think we're ready to go back, too. I still have almost two weeks off from work, so that will give us enough time to sort some things out and maybe have some fun. I think Jordan should come to our home and pretend he's still on vacation, don't you?" She squeezes my hand, and Dakota nods her head.
"Will you come home with us, Daddy? You can't be alone. Mommy's bed is big enough, so you can sleep with her because mine is too small." I look at Anushka and smile.
"Sounds like a plan. Let's pack, and I'll get us on the next flight out of here." Anushka and Dakota go to their bedroom to begin packing. I pull out my phone, and rather than booking us on a commercial flight, I call the airport to see if there's a private plane that can take us to New York. I figure there are wealthy people on the island who wouldn't mind making a little money by letting us borrow their plane for a few hours. Thirty minutes later, I received a call that a plane would be ready within an hour. I'll let it be a surprise for Anushka and Dakota.
When we have everything packed, we check to make sure we haven't left anything behind. After checking out of the hotel, we called the police station to let them know we were going back home and gave them our phone numbers so they could reach us. The hotel shuttle van is available to take us to the airport. None of us wanted to trust another car service. When I have the shuttle bypass the main drop-off and drive to the private airstrip, Anushka looks at me in confusion.
"Where are we going?" she asks.
"It's a surprise," I reply as they both look out the window. We pull up to one of the most beautiful private planes I have ever seen.
"I booked us our own private plane back to New York. I thought we deserved a little luxury after the two days we've had." I chuckle when their eyes widen, making Dakota look even more like her mom.
"How did you do this so fast?" Anushka asks as we get out of the van.
"A couple of phone calls is all it took." I carry Dakota and hold Anushka's hand as we climb the steps into the plane. One of the flight attendants loads our luggage. The inside is even more beautiful than the outside. The seats are wide and made of brown leather. There's a long couch along one side. We all take a seat, and Dakota looks around.
"Do you like it?" She smiles and nods.
"Yes." After we take off, we're served a light lunch, and then Dakota falls asleep on the couch. Anushka is in the seat next to me with her head on my shoulder.
"This wasn't how I planned this vacation, but I'm glad it brought us together," she says. I tighten my arm around her.
"I'm so glad we're going back early. It will give us time to see how this is going to work on our home turf. I want to spend every minute with the two of you, so you may get tired of me." I kiss her forehead, and she moves to look into my eyes.
"We won't get tired of you. In the past two days, we've already gone through more than most people in a lifetime. I say let's do what we want. We love each other, and all three of us are happy." Anushka kisses me, and if Dakota weren't asleep on the other side of the plane, I would join the mile-high club with her. I can't wait for us to start this new chapter of our lives.

Harrison's P.O.V.
"Sir, Anushka and Dakota are on their way back to the city. They had some trouble on the island and left early." Alan says when I answer the phone.
"Perfect. Let me know when they arrive." I reply.
"There's one more thing. They're with Jordan Holt. It appears he and Anushka are seeing each other." I make a fist to control my anger.
"Thank you." After disconnecting the call, I bang my fist on the desk. How dare he touch Anushka? She's my wife and belongs to me. She thought what I did to her before was bad. Just wait until she sees what I learned since we've been apart. She will pay for putting me in prison. I won't kill her, but she's going to beg me to once I get my hands on her.
