Chapter 129 Meeting Dominick
Dakota's P.O.V.
I look at Dominick's text with the location where I'm supposed to meet him. He wants me to be there in thirty minutes, which doesn't give me much time to prepare.
"I have the meeting place," I tell everyone.
"You can't go alone," Ari says. I know it's killing him to not be able to leave the hospital right now, but there's no other way.
"Don't worry, I'll be back, and my mom will be with me. Shea, I'm trusting you and Tyler to make sure he doesn't leave this room." She smiles and nods.
"We won't let him leave," Shea says.
"Everyone else, let's go." While we were waiting for the text, Galdino had two vans delivered to go to the location. I will drive a car alone. We have some of Galdino's security men, my uncles, Galdino, and my dad. I wanted my dad to stay at the hospital. I love him, but he's not much of a fighter, and when it comes to my mom, he's very emotional. However, he wouldn't hear it and insisted on going.
We get outside, and they separate into the two vans. Galdino nods when he follows my dad into one of them. I know he won't let my dad do anything to mess this up. I get into the rental car that's waiting for me. The vans leave before I do so they can get in place. We know Dominick will likely be there before us to make sure I'm alone, so they're going to be waiting nearby.
I pull out of the parking lot a few minutes after they do. The meeting location isn't that far from the hospital, so wherever they have my mom stashed can't be far either. We will get her. I know we will.
I pull into the parking lot of the restaurant where we're meeting. After parking, I look around but don't see anyone. A few minutes later, my phone beeps. It's another text.
I'm glad you can follow directions. Get out of the car and throw the phone inside. Start walking toward the supermarket.
I do as he said and begin walking. I don't see the vans anywhere, but I know they're nearby. I don't get too far down the street when a black car pulls up beside me. I look in and see Dominick in the driver's seat. When I look in the back, there's no one there. I had hoped he would bring my mom, but I didn't think it would be that easy.
"Get in," he says. I open the passenger door and sit down. Dominick begins driving, and we pass one of the vans, sitting not far away. I ignore it, but I know they'll follow us.
"Where are you taking me?" I ask him.
"To see your precious mother. She's lucky I didn't kill her for elbowing me in the nose like she did." I smile as I look out the window. That's my mom. People often underestimate her.
"How did you get Detective Klein to help you?" Dominick begins laughing.
"That wasn't hard. He has a serious hard-on for your mom. When I told him he could have some fun with her, he was on board." That sick bastard is going to pay if he touches my mom. We pull up to what looks like an abandoned warehouse. As we're getting out, I see a door open, and I'm stunned to see my mom walking out. She has blood on her clothes, but she doesn't look injured. Dominick sees her, too.
"Get back in there," he yells at her. Mom shakes her head and walks over to me.
"No, and your little partner may need medical attention. So go fuck yourself." I hug her, and she hugs me back. Dominick begins to come toward us, but the two vans suddenly pull in.
"No, no, no. I will kill you all." He pulls out a gun from his waistband, and I shove my mom to the ground as he pulls the trigger.
