“What do I say to her?” Ela whispered, but Grey could hear.
How long had she been out? She remembered bashing her head on the floor and falling unconscious.
“Nothing.” Sky said.
“I was thinking more of congratulations.”
“I’m the one who needs the congratulations.” Sky puffed.
Grey stirred and found her muscles were stiff. She blinked her eyes a couple times and was stung by the over headlights. She groaned. Everything was painful.
“Grey! You’re awake.” Ela moved closer to the bed.
“What happened?” Grey attempted to sit up, but she felt lightheaded.
“Probably not a good idea.” Sky said.
Grey discovered the tube connected to a see through bag containing a clear liquid was stuck inside her arm.
“Why do I have this?” Her voice rose with panic.
“It isn’t bad. The doctor said you hadn’t eaten that’s why you fainted.” Ela explained.
“You’ve got to… take care of yourself. Remember what I said West will come back.”
Grey rolled her head to the side, “I don’t know if that’s a good idea.”
Ela and Sky shared an alarmed look.
“I think I should tell her.” Ela said.
Sky ran his fingers through his hair, “The doctor’s going to do that Ela.” He hissed.
“I might do a better job. I am her friend after all.”
“Guys, tell me what?” Grey asked.
Another silent stare. Sky sighed and settled back into the chair pushed back against the wall.
“Well, the doctor did mention something else.”
Grey nodded. She attempted to sit up again and this time slower so she wasn’t hammered down as if she had a hungover. “Come on Ela, spit it out.” Grey burst out after a minute of babbling.
Ela looked at Sky who watched Grey. Ela rubbed her hands together nervously.
“Grey… you’re pregnant.”
Grey opened her mouth, but no words came out. She leaned back against the pillows. Pregnant? A baby? Now? She was still in university. She still had to get her degree. West wanted nothing to do with her, what about their baby?
“How you feeling?” Sky asked, breaking the silence that fell over them.
She still couldn’t speak. The wheels in her head stopped spinning. She curled into a ball and cried her eyes out. She couldn’t even begin to imagine what her mother would think when she told her.

Grey hadn’t stopped crying since they got back from the hospital. She had been ordered to eat and was given a bottle of vitamins to take. She couldn’t believe there was life growing inside her. She had to let West know, what he did after that was up to him. She lay on Ela’s lap, sobbing. Ela brushed her hair with her fingers.
“You’ll come out of this Grey. You’re not alone. I mean this child is my niece. She’ll have everything.”
Grey sniffled. She hadn’t even began thinking about diapers, sleepless nights and vomit on her clothes.
“It’s a boy and he’s a Kiszinger. Everything’s going to be fine Grey.” Sky said, he walked into the living room and placed a tall glass of milk on the coffee table and told Grey to have some.
She reached for it and took a sip. “My mom’s going to be so disappointed in me.” Grey said.
Ela sighed, “Why?”
“She got pregnant young and couldn’t finish college. She’ll see the same thing happen again. I should have been more careful.”
“You can still go back to school. I’m sure your mother didn’t have the right support. I’ll babysit.”
“You’re doing school too Ela.” Grey pointed out.
“Right.” She whispered.
“We’ll hire a nanny. It’s no big deal.” Sky said.
She wished it was that easy. What if she got kicked out of school for being pregnant? At some point she wouldn’t be able to attend anyway. She needed to gather the strength to speak to West then her mother.
“You want me to call West again? I tried calling him to tell him you were in the hospital, but there was no answer. I should just go to his house.” Sky said.
Grey shook her head, “No. Let him have the day. I’ll tell him myself tomorrow.”
“It’s going to be okay.” Sky said.
She wished she could join in on his enthusiasm, but she couldn’t bring herself to. Grey sat up from Ela’s lap. She remembered something West said.
“Why didn’t you go to the police Sky? Someone tried to hurt you?” Grey asked.
Ela frowned at him. Sky ran his fingers through his hair. “I thought about it. I don’t have much to go on. I went out drinking with people I know. I passed out at the dorms. I don’t have a person to point a finger to. Connor and Lewis might have better chances because from what I heard Lewis was drinking with this one woman before he passed out. Connor was driving with someone during the accident.”
“What are the odds it’s the same person?” Ela whispered.
“We’ll find out soon enough. Lewis and Connor are awake.”
“What?” Grey and Ela said in unison.
“When?” Grey asked.
“Why didn’t you say anything?” Ela blasted.
“Well, we were kind of busy with everything that happened.”
“We have to go see them. Right now.” Grey said.
“No, no. You have to rest and eat. You’re literary not alone now.” Ela said.
It would take a while to sink in, but at that moment there was a person who thought they were superior to everyone else. She was wrong for lying, Mia was wrong for cheating but the self-righteous monster had no right to expose them. To make it worse she had a hunch who the monster was.
Since the day she had that weird phone call with Porsha and went to that creepy factory she’d been thinking about it. Porsha had changed she turned against her friends, but was she capable of trying to kill them? None of them were actually dead, but had been put in the hospital. How had she known about Grey’s secret?
“Grey? You okay?” Sky asked.
“Yeah, it just doesn’t feel good. I think I know who’s behind this.”
Sky and Ela stared at each other.
“Well spit it out!” Ela exclaimed.
“Porsha… I think it’s Porsha.”
