Chapter 28 Truth That Destroy The Family
“Samar forgive me please, forgive me” he whispers, barely able to speak through his sobs.
His shoulders shake. His whole body trembles. And then he freezes. A thought strikes him like lightning. Something urgent. Something unbearable.
Clutching the photo tightly, Vihan rushes out of the room. Mrs. Shobha and Mr. Ajay sit on the sofa, blank and broken, staring into nothingness. Their eyes are dry too many tears have already fallen. Their souls look drained.
Neeti, I, and Ruhi sit beside them, holding their hands, trying to comfort them, wiping their faces, offering water but nothing can heal the wound of losing a child.
Rohit and Mr. Shekhawat stand nearby, silent and helpless. The room remains quiet, heavy with sorrow.
Suddenly, Vihan walks in. His eyes are red, his face pale, his breathing hard. In his hand, he holds the photo of him and Samar.
Everyone turns to look at him. Silence thickens. Vihan walks to the center of the room, in front of everyone. Then he falls to his knees. And then… he breaks down. Completely.
He cries like never before sobbing, trembling, shattered. “Mom Dad I-l killed Samar I took his life, I destroyed everything, I killed my own Bro… please… please forgive me…”
His voice cracks, his hands trembling as he presses the photo to his heart. Tears stream down his face like a river that refuses to stop.
Everyone stands in shock. No one moves. No one speaks. Ruhi, Neeti, Mrs. Shobha, Mr. Ajay, Shorya, Mr. Shekhawat they can only stare in stunned disbelief.
The Vihan they know the one who never bends, never bows is now broken, kneeling on the floor, drowning in regret.
And in his pain, everyone can see the wreckage of a man who has lost more than he can ever bear.
Scene: The End of Bonds Vihan Is Left with Nothing Setting: Rathore Mansion’s living room a space heavy with grief, silence, and the weight of broken relationships. A moment that shatters Vihan’s world forever.
“Please forgive me, Mom Dad everyone I didn’t mean for this to happen, I killed Samar, I destroyed everything” His voice turns hoarse, almost lost in the suffocating silence.
Suddenly Mrs. Shobha steps forward. Her eyes fill with fire. SLAPPPP!!!!!!!!
Her hand strikes Vihan’s cheek with all the pain of a mother who has lost her son. “You took Samar from me you killed my son with your own hands… and you dare call me ‘Mom’? How dare you, Vihan?!”
Vihan doesn’t look up. His face turns aside, tears dripping down his jaw, his head lowering in shame. Then Mr. Ajay steps forward, eyes burning, heart shattered. SLAPPPPP!!!!!!!!
“I treated you like my own son. I gave you everything… but you? You were never my son. You are a murderer. A monster filled with greed and hatred!” Vihan stumbles, breathless, unable to meet their eyes.
Near the corner, I cling to Mr. Shekhawat’s chest, sobbing uncontrollably. My whole world my trust, my heart crumbles in front of me.
Just then, Rohit marches toward Vihan. His eyes burn with rage and disgust. He punches Vihan square in the face.
“You don’t deserve to live among us! You killed your own Bro! You’re nothing but a killer! A monster!”
Vihan falls, bruised and broken, but the pain in his body is nothing compared to the storm tearing his heart apart.
Ruhi steps forward, her face cold, eyes filled with hatred. “I thought maybe there was a shred of humanity left in you. But no you’re a beast, Vihan. A demon who feeds on destruction. Stay away from all of us!”
Vihan folds his hands, tears pouring, his voice trembling. He looks around at the people he once called family.
“Please please Ishani, Ruhi, Rohit, Mom, Dad, I beg you, forgive me. I lost myself… I didn’t know the truth… I didn’t know… I never wanted to… I’m sorry! I’m dying every second with this guilt… I’ll carry this burden forever… just forgive me once…”
Then his eyes fall on Neeti, standing silently, tears in her eyes. Vihan’s voice breaks completely. A flicker of hope appears in his desperate eyes.
“Neeti… you always believed in me you were my little Sister-in-law, closer than anyone please tell me you still believe in me what I did it happened in ignorance, in anger please tell me you don’t hate me.”
Neeti keeps her gaze lowered. Tears fall one by one. Then, in a soft but piercing voice, she speaks “Today… I finally understand the difference between real and step relationships.”
Silence. A deadly silence fills the room. Everyone freezes Mrs. Shobha, Mr. Ajay, Ruhi, Rohit, Shorya, Mr. Shekhawat all stare at Neeti in shock.
Mr. Ajay rushes to her, pain flooding his eyes. “No, child no! We never treated you as a stepdaughter. You are our daughter always were, always will be!”
Neeti jerks away, her voice rising with anger and grief. “No! He is my stepbrother and not just a stepbrother he’s a murderer! I HATE him! He took my Bro… Samar is gone because of HIM! I have no one left in this world not my mother, not my brother no one!”
Her voice cracks. Her knees give way. She collapses to the floor, crying uncontrollably, both hands gripping her head in despair.
Mrs. Shobha’s heart shatters. Until today, she never allows Neeti to feel like she isn’t her own daughter. But today, hearing those words, she feels like a mother who has failed to protect her family.
Mr. Ajay trembles, barely holding himself together. He turns to Vihan, his voice cold, final. “Vihan leave this house. Forever. We have no relation with you anymore. You mean nothing to us.”
Silence, Vihan stands frozen, shattered. His eyes widen in disbelief. Tears still fall but now there is nothing left. No family. No love. No forgiveness.
He kneels on the floor again, eyes red, tears endless, clutching the photo of Samar and himself to his chest the last unbroken piece of his soul.
Neeti remains on the floor, crying uncontrollably. Her hoarse voice echoes in Vihan’s ears. “I have no one left no mother no brother everything is gone… everything!”
Each word stabs Vihan’s heart like a blade. His shoulders shake with silent sobs. Mrs. Shobha wipes her tears and turns away from him, unable to even look at the son she once raised.
Ruhi, Rohit, I, Shorya, Mr. Shekhawat everyone stands frozen, eyes cold, hearts closed. Then Mr. Ajay steps forward. His face tightens with fury. His eyes burn with betrayal. He grabs Vihan’s arm and yanks him up.
Vihan gasps, panicked. “Dad no don’t do this please don’t throw me out where will I go? I’m still your son I’m still yours.”
Mr. Ajay’s voice thunders. “You are NOT my son, Vihan! You lost that right the day you murdered your Bro! You destroyed this family! You don’t belong here anymore!”
He drags Vihan through the hallway like a criminal. Vihan stumbles, broken, crying out, “Mom! Neeti! Please! Give me one chance! This is my home this is my mother’s house she never treated me like a stepson please, Dad please!”
No one answers. At the main door, Mr. Ajay flings it open and shoves Vihan out. “Get out of this house and never come back!”
Vihan crashes onto the cold marble outside. His hands scrape, but he feels nothing. Lying there, he looks up his tear-filled eyes searching for one familiar face, one hand to help him. No one moves. Everyone watches from inside.
Then the door slams shut. THUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The sound shatters his heart forever. Vihan sits there, outside the house he once called home, holding a faded photograph the last memory of a brother he can never bring back.
He remains at the mansion gate the same gate that once opened with pride, now closed with contempt. The wind lashes him, but the storm inside is colder.
Slowly, he lifts his eyes toward the gate that shuts him out not just from a house, but from family, from love. He stands, unsteady yet dignified. His heart lies in pieces, but his spine stays straight.
He whispers to himself, voice hollow. Images of his three grand villas flash in his mind filled with luxury, emptiness.
“But in those houses I won’t find Neeti’s laughter Samar’s mischief or mother’s hand on my head.” His eyes cloud with Samar’s memory.
“You were always ahead of me, Samar and even now I believe somewhere you’re still alive.”
He looks up at the sky. “I pray to God that you are safe, Samar even if I die a little every day. This is my punishment. My truth.”
He walks to his black luxury car, gets inside, and looks once more at Rathore Mansion’s gate. He closes his eyes starts the engine. The car moves forward, away from the house, away from family,
away from everything.
