Chapter 107 Father & Daughter Both Troublemaker
Overjoyed, he slips down from Rimjhim’s arms and, taking small hurried steps, runs inside.
Rimjhim bends to lift the little girl into her arms, but before she can, Vihan standing just behind speaks in a voice laced with anger, “Stay away!”
And without another word, he walks inside.
Rimjhim steadies herself, swallowing the sting in her heart, and follows quietly.
Inside, Mrs. Shobha is lighting a lamp in the temple. Viransh rushes forward, hugs her legs tightly, and calls out, “Grandmaa!"
Happiness lights up Mrs. Shobha’s face. She embraces him, then playfully tugs his ear and says, “Again? You enter the temple wearing shoes?”
Viransh makes an innocent face and says, “Oh God! Sorry, Grandmaa.”
He quickly runs out, removes his shoes, and comes back inside the temple.
By then, Vihan and Rimjhim also remove their shoes and enter. The moment Mrs. Shobha sees Rimjhim, her eyes fill with tears. Rimjhim bends down and touches her feet. Shobha ji embraces her tightly and says, “My child…”
Suddenly, her gaze falls on the little girl sitting quietly in Vihan’s arms, staring curiously at everything around her. Mrs. Shobha is taken aback.
“Who is she?” she asks.
Vihan looks at Rimjhim. Rimjhim hesitates for a moment, then softly replies, “She is your granddaughter.”
For a moment, Mrs. Shobha is speechless. Then Rimjhim slowly reveals the whole truth.
Mrs. Shobha’s joy knows no bounds. Her eyes sparkle with delight as she hurriedly steps forward, lifting the innocent little girl in her arms. Her voice brims with affection, “She’s so beautiful, Rimjhim. Do you know, when Vihan was born, he too was chubby just like this. And these eyes? Exactly the same as his.”
Vihan looks at his tiny daughter and can’t help but smile, as though his heart is melting unknowingly. Mrs. Shobha then asks, “What have you named her?”
In a gentle voice, Rimjhim answers, “Pihu.”
Shobha ji strokes her with even more love. Pihu, while looking at everyone, insists on going into Rimjhim’s arms.
But before Rimjhim can reach her, Vihan instantly pulls the child back into his own arms and says coldly, “Stay away from her.”
Mrs. Shobha is stunned. “Vihan?”
Vihan’s face grows stern, his voice chilling, “Mom, she kept my daughter away from me. I won’t let her go near my daughter either.”
Mrs. Shobha’s anger flares. She immediately snatches Pihu from his arms and hands her to Rimjhim, speaking in a firm, commanding tone, “Go to your room.”
Rimjhim quietly takes Pihu in her arms, holds Viransh’s little hand, and walks toward the room.
Now Mrs. Shobha turns to Vihan, her eyes blazing. Her voice carries the authority of a mother, “I know she was wrong. She shouldn’t have hidden this from you. But remember this she is the mother of your children. No matter how much love you give, you can never replace a mother’s love. Do you even know what she must have endured to bring your daughter into this world? How much pain she bore? And this is how you treat her?”
Her final words come out as a sharp warning, “Now live peacefully and start a new life with her. And listen carefully—my daughter-in-law must not suffer any pain again, or else I will throw you out of this house.”
Vihan is left shaken by his mother’s words. A storm of emotions churns inside him. He looks at her silently, unable to utter a single word.
Finally, without replying, he turns and walks quietly toward his room.
Vihan enters the room quietly. In the dim glow of the light, his eyes immediately fall on Rimjhim. She is sitting on the sofa, her face carrying a strange sadness, as if an ocean of pain is buried deep within her heart. In her arms, little Viransh sleeps peacefully, his head resting on her shoulder like a delicate doll. The soft warmth of his breath gives her a momentary sense of comfort, but her eyes still reflect nothing but fatigue and sorrow.
But on the other side… Pihu.
The little fairy is running around the room on her tiny feet, her small fists opening and closing playfully. Innocence sparkles in her dark curls, as though she is lost in a world of her own.
The moment Rimjhim’s eyes fall on her, her patience begins to crumble. In a firm voice, she calls out, “Pihu… come here, to Mumma!”
But Pihu, with a mischievous smile, ignores her mother completely, as if saying, I’m happy in my own world. Annoyed, Rimjhim raises her tone a little louder, “You and your father have decided to trouble me together!”
Hearing this, Vihan smiles faintly. His face lights up with that tender glow only a father has when he looks at his children. Sitting down beside Rimjhim, he says gently, “She’s my little dragon. Don’t scold her.”
For a brief moment, Rimjhim looks at him, but quickly turns her face away in anger and hurt. Viransh is now fast asleep. Rimjhim carefully lays him down on the bed, adjusting the pillow by his head.
Then she picks up Pihu in her arms. In her sweet baby voice, Pihu tries to say something. From her tiny lips slip innocent words, “Cho… co…”
The little one is asking for chocolate.
Rimjhim’s irritation rises again. She scolds firmly, “This is not the time for chocolate. Go to sleep quietly.”
Pihu’s face falls into sadness. Her big eyes fill with tears. She doesn’t say anything, she just looks straight at Vihan through the veil of her lashes, her tears threatening to fall.
Vihan’s heart melts instantly. He stands up without a word, goes straight to the kitchen, opens the fridge, and comes back with a small chocolate bar in his hand.
Rimjhim frowns at him and says sternly, “Is this the time to give her chocolate?”
But Vihan looks at her with a mix of innocence and ache, his voice tender as he replies, “I can’t see my daughter cry.”
For a moment, Rimjhim’s eyes linger on the two of them so happy together. Her heart softens, yet the wounds buried inside force her into silence.
She adjusts her dupatta and quietly walks toward the window. Pulling the curtain aside, she lets the moonlight fall on her face, as if trying to hide her pain in its calm glow. Outside, the moon spreads its gentle light, as though attempting to soothe the storm in her heart.
Just then, Vihan comes closer, holding Pihu in his arms. He sits down right beside her on the sofa and asks softly, “What are you thinking about?”
