"Listen, everyone, before the training starts today I wanted to introduce the presence of my Luna in the pack. The Queen of the Royal pack, Luna Ashley. She's here to learn from the warrior's daily training and perhaps also with you guys to make herself stronger. This is the first time she will do this without me, for the reason that I have something urgent at the office of the palace."
The loud voice of my Alpha King Vincent echoes around the huge training hall for the warriors as he introduces me to the pack warriors. They all look at him listening to every word he said. My gaze moves around looking through the various fitness equipment, from the treadmill, kettlebell set, pull-up frame and bar, rowing machines, fitness ball, and a whole lot more but most of them I couldn't give a name to.
"Welcome to the warrior's training ground, Luna Jasmin!"
Alex and Calib the closest friend of my Alpha King lead the pack of warriors in this hall, with Beta Derek who leads the assessment of the youngest wolves that wish to join them as a warrior of the pack. Male and female wolves are here, there seems to be no difference in terms of the way they get trained.
"Thank you, Alex. I am glad that each one of you here accepts me as the mate of Alpha King Vincent and as Queen Luna as well."
I can't seem to believe it myself too, at first that I am to be called as the Queen Luna. However, Maleficus and the Alpha King himself declares it so here I am. Still getting used to the title.
Alex and Calib bow to me and then everyone else followed his gesture. "Oh no, please no need for special treatment, I came because I wanted to learn how to fight for myself and not to rely solely on the warriors and my husband to protect me."
Vincent's brows furrowed as he listens to what I just said. Some of the women gasped while the male wolves smiled and even give me a hand salute. It did not sit well with my Alpha King it seems, the problem is the way I said it.
"You don't have to say that sweetheart, you know I would always protect you no matter what."
He lowers his head just beside my ear and whispered, letting his breath create havoc on my senses. But his eyes told me that he will remember this moment tonight and will ask me again about the matter.
"I can manage the training, didn't you have somewhere else to go today? I thought you would do some paper works in your office."
He shrugged his shoulders and replied. "Everything could wait, first I want to know how would you react to the first day of the training."
"I think I am doing just fine."
I held my head high and stood erect. He chuckled and wave his hand to let the wolves go back to their training then he signals for Beta Derek, Alex, and Calib to come near us.
"Please I wanted to entrust the learning of our Luna Queen to Beta Derek today. Calib and Alex you train the young aspiring warriors, I need to review and sign some documents in the office. Today is a good day please do well and report back to me before lunch."
"Loud and clear Alpha King Vincent!"
The three answered almost in unison.
His eyes search mine and hold both of my hands. "I will come back and take you before lunch, my love, I hope you enjoy your first day here."
I nodded my head and squeeze his hands. "You enjoy your day in the office to my Alpha King."
He kissed me on the forehead before turning to Beta Derek. "Teach her the basics, and maybe the next time she can have the more complicated training after she learns the self-defense first."
"Alright Alpha King, no worries! I will let the Luna Queen learn the different types of self-defense."
Our eyes meet once more before Alpha King Vincent walks out of the vast training hall. I am aware of the she-wolve eyes that are with me when I followed Beta Derek to the corner of the hall.
"Your majesty, please we need to have a little bit of stretching in order not to harm those muscles of yours."
My running shoes and black stretchy leggings paired with the tight sporty long sleeve top that showed a little skin in my belly seemed to be appropriate for today's activity. My arms followed the movements of beta Derek as he signaled for me to follow.
He looks tall and big with bulky muscles on his arms and leg however his body moves softly and easily like a good fitness instructor. "Breath in and breath out slowly your majesty while you stretch your legs and arms like this."
I look closely and followed his every movement feeling my body stretch and move the muscles inside my arms and legs. The strange feeling of being watched is still inside my head, it could be normal but the hairs at the back of my head are standing. So I suddenly stopped and look behind me, all the wolves are busy.
"Your majesty? Is there something wrong?"
I heard the voice of Beta Derek questioning what happened to me when I stood still with my eyes scanning the whole place and searching for the one who's been staring at me since I arrived.
"Nothing, it's just that I felt someone has been watching me. But I couldn't tell who and I want to know who it is."
"Oh! That's normal your majesty, you can't avoid the fact that all shewolves are jealous of you."
I look at him with my brows furrowed. "Jealous? Why? I mean it is my fate to be Alpha King Vincent's mate and they have their fated mate as well how come they could be jealous of me?"
I asked, clueless about why they are jealous of me and still wondering why she would not just come forward and introduce herself to me if it is a she-wolf for it could be one of the warriors.
"Because your majesty, not all she-wolves deserve a fate like yours. Being mated to an Alpha King is the dream of most female wolves in the pack, for the power and the title that all the wolves will bow down to it could be the reason why they are envious."
I shook my head. "They could be staring for some other reason perhaps not because they are jealous."
"It could be admiration, your majesty. I wonder who it is."
He shrugged his shoulders and continue to show me the stretching of arms and legs, getting ready for the training.
"Good morning your majesty!"
A female voice spoke from behind me, and I immediately turned around and see the woman standing close. She is wearing a sporty bra that exposes her upper body more and a short so tight that it sculpted her buttocks and legs. She smiles at me flashing her pearly white teeth.
Beta Derek's attention moves to her and he smiles. "Mrs. Harger, I'm glad you came back again. So you didn't go back yet."
I don't know what to tell her when I recognized that she is the mother of Alpha Xander.
"No, I stayed just like the Alpha King suggested. The lesson I learned yesterday was very helpful that I even try to do it in my room alone. Beta Derek, I think I am ready for the next lesson."
I cleared my throat and finally give her my attention. "Good morning to you too Mrs. Harger. Today I am with Beta Derek to learn some of the basics, you can join us if you want."
The smile on her face faded and I caught the glimpse of something that crosses her eyes before she turned to Beta Derek. He smiles at her and waves his hand to someone in the hall. Alex caught his attention and quickly came forward.
"Hello there Mrs. Harger!"
He greeted her before winking at me in an amusing gesture. "Alex, please be with Mrs. Harger today and assist her with the training. I am entrusted by the Alpha King to help our Luna so I am afraid I couldn't assist her today."
"Sure thing Beta Derek."
He took the hand of Mrs. Harger whose eyes are now glued on him and she willingly went with him.
I took a deep breath in and meet the eyes of Beta Derek as he apologetically look at me. I am still thinking about why the expression on Mrs. Harger's face changes all of a sudden. Perhaps she doesn't like me, but this is not the first time I saw her and she is unaware of my presence most of the time from before.
