Partying…
Partying…
CHAPTER NINETY-NINE:
Ivan’s POV:
The way she's looking at me now like I hung the goddamn moon… it's exhilarating. If only it didn't also feel like pain and guilt.
Would she look at me the same way once she realises I'm responsible for her father’s death? Sure, Tom Smith was a world-class asshole, even to her. His only child and daughter. But could anyone really handle the death of their parents—good or bad—especially if the one who orchestrated their death was the person they were in love with?
I didn't think so.
I know, I wouldn't.
I'm not even sure.
My father was good to me, mother was too. And I would have burned the world down if anyone had hurt them and I did in fact hunt down those responsible for father's death. It had taken years, but it was still worth it.
Sophia loves me.
And even if she hadn't confessed in her sleep, I would have been able to tell. She wasn't subtle. Not with her movements, her actions, words…
And I loved her too.
I've tried to fight it—we shouldn't last. We were never meant to. But as someone who loved control and made sure everything went according to the way I wanted it… I sure as shit have no control over the organ beating wildly against my ribs.
I loved her.
Was obsessed with her.
She doesn't know it, but I'll kill everyone and anyone who dared stand in her way.
I love her, it hurts that I can't say it freely. Hurts that I can't tell her or show it the way I really want to. Just my luck that Tom was her godforsaken father!! And the fact that I would kill him over and over again even if I went back in time was one of the reasons I could not start a relationship with her, the very reason I couldn't confess.
I was sorry he was her father. But I was never sorry I killed the bastard.
And part of me was grateful that she'd never really said those words out loud….
It would automatically be over for us.
For now, I was content playing the back-and-forth game.
No… not content. I guess I was willing to take whatever scrapes I'd get.
I wanted to love her wholly and loudly but…
“And now, you're the one thinking too hard,” her sweet, melodious voice with that goddamn accent that did wonders for my cock, penetrated my thoughts and I smiled.
“I'm sorry, detka.”
She frowned. “You have nothing to be sorry for.”
How wrong she was. But I didn't push it.
Instead, “I have a surprise ready for you tomorrow.”
“Oh my God,” She gasped, her beautiful eyes sparkling with love and genuine appreciation.
My heart squeezed.
“You do?”
“Yes, solnyshko.” I leaned in to place a soft kiss on her lips. “But first, let's head back to others, it seems like they've started the celebration without us.” If the speakers and screaming coming from the living room were any indication.
She scoffed playfully. “Since when do you like to party?”
I don't.
It was a waste of time for me. But I knew she wanted to.
I knew how much she hated what Harry did to her, how he ruined her image. She deserves to laugh, drink, dance, and eat over the announcement of his pathetic downfall.
I shrugged, “I could always make exceptions.”
So instead of saying I really don't understand parties, I led her back to the living room.

HOURS LATER…
Sophia’s POV:
The party was more than I expected.
I thought it was only gonna be just me, Nick, Ivan, Daisy and Sid. Probably drinking a few wines, dancing a little, and heading to bed.
Wrong.
Wherever Sid, Nick, and Daisy brought the rest of the people present was beyond. Even the fact Ivan looked completely okay with strangers—well, most of them were his bodyguards so not all were strangers—into his private penthouse was a jaw-dropping moment for me.
Nick and Daisy said they brought their friends and in guessing it was the same for Sid.
It had gone on for hours…. Loads of drinking, games, dancing, you fucking name it. It was like that one time I went to a party in college—the only time, really. I needed to come out on top of my class and that meant killing my social life since I wasn't a genius and needed to study hard.
Turns out it still didn't impress dad like we all know, so these days, I'm consoling myself with the fact that it was my degree, my hard work, my effort, and my success. Mine.
Fuck him.
Fuck his obsession with male children.
Fuck his misogynistic beliefs.
Just… fuck him… God, I hate him so much and it hurts that a small part of me still wanted his love. I hate him for it… He better stay dead!
Okay, I digress….
Tonight was for happy thoughts and happy thoughts only!
No daddy issues bullshit.
No pedophilic lesson teachers.
No psycho crazy arranged fiancée.
Just me and the people who mattered the most to me. Having fun, drinking more than our livers should take while we danced like it was our last day on earth.
I love it here.
And even more when I remember who the man I'm in love with is.
Sexy, big, handsome, strong, badass, ruthless, and soooo fucking addictive…
Alright, I think I'm drunk off my tits.
But that man keeps making me fall harder for him. I quickly glanced over to where he stood by a wall, twirling a glass and his eyes were already on me.
My stomach flipped. Hard.
“Girl,” Daisy who I'd been dancing with whispered in my ear, her speech slightly slurred. “....he looks like he wants to fuck you right here, in front of all of us.”
I flushed, hard. “Shut up!” I scolded playfully and she rolled her eyes but that made her stagger a bit.
Yep, as drunk as I was.
“You know it is the truth,” she snorted, as she grabbed my shoulders. “Come on, go get your man. You need a good dicking down after the horrible month you've had.”
Before I could argue further, she pushed me in his direction. And honestly, though, I wasn't complaining.
I'm obsessed and utterly gone for that man.
